POLITICS: THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE

This is not a game, but Time noted its inspiration as it borrowed from the 2008 NBA Playoff ad campaign for its May 5, 2008 issue, which hit stands Friday.

The cover features a split black and white photograph of Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton who are currently vying for the Democratic presidential nomination.

In an interview with Larry King on Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said it’s not a good idea for Clinton and Obama to run together on a joint ticket in November.

“First of all, the candidate, whoever he or she may be, should choose his or her own vice presidential candidate. I think that’s appropriate. That’s where you would see the comfort level, not only how to run but how to govern the country.

And there’s plenty of talent to go around to draw upon for a good, strong ticket. I’m not one of those who thinks that that’s a good ticket.”

They further letting us know that politics is one big game.
The media cover it like it game, the candidates act like they in competition, talking about winning all the time and who gets the short end of the stick? We do.
They make all these promises when in fact big business run the government, there will never be the type of change that is needed to trickle down to the common man and woman. So, let the games begin and man the best man or woman win
When are we going to wake up and see that the media is bias, they make decisions for us, they cover Barrack one day and put him a certain light, then they cover Hillary and put her in a certain light, all along they racking in the dough, sitting back in there corp. offices laughing at the deaf, dumb, and blind.. Clean your 3rd eye out!

I rep the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia)

  5. I don’t understand WHY they think its going to be between McCain, Barack AND Hillary.

Well I wouldn’t doubt that it would end up that way. Hell everything else is changing. Especially when they are letting a blk man and a woman bid for the “big house”.

  6. Truth

I like the cover!!! Obama 08! Vote for Change! Yes we Can!

  7. Queen_Chrissee

I’m not feeling the cover. Why does Barack have to be on the black and white side of the cover instead of the color page. Seem rather wack as hell to me.

Somebody tell Rev. Wright to shut the bleep up. Obama is trying to run as everyone’s candidate, he can’t run as the black candidate. If the brother wins, we automically win because it raises a positive profile for us. If Wright keeps his face in the news, Obama loses middle of th road white folks, and other races.
They was a latina in Dallas, near the beginning of primaries. She said she wouldn’t vote fof Obama because, when there was a black mayor in Dallas, he ran things, he didn’t nothing for the latins, and she hadn’t forgot. Anyone who thinks “we” can do something on our own are sorely misguided, and need to be put out to pasture. We blacks don’t have the numbers to get elected dogcatcher on our own. We need coalitons, which is what Barack is trying to do. They even had to shut Michelle Obama down. She was making way too many polarizing comments. You don’t see much of her now.
Wright needs to tame his ego, and quit doing intervies. NPR’s Juan Willaims read from some polls the other day that read, 8% of whites just wouldn’t vote for Obama because he’s black. We don’t need him losing anymore behind bullshit.

Whatever, Mrs PELOSI. You’re dumb, and a WEAK Speaker of the House. That’s right, I said it! You have no backbone. You’re just as bad as Bush because you can’t seem to do your damn job and go against Bush’s policies

You say Bush has turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the people but SO HAVE YOU!!! DO your fuckin job. Im sick of these damn politicians on Capitol hill that are full of shit and treat this whole thing as a game. While you get to sit high and mighty on your happy ass in your House seat, a rich politician, the rest of us gotta live in the real world, suffering.

YOU are just as out of touch with this country as Bush! AND you secretly want to be the first female President of the US one day, only its not a secret. Everyone knows it!

If Obama and Clinton want to join on a ticket together, then fuckin let em! Not that i care anymore just as long as they win. Even if it would only scratch the surface of fixing the problems our country faces.

So Mrs Pelosi, Speaker of the House, House Rep from Cali, im gonna need you to get with the program. Put aside all your bullshit personal agendas, and FIGHT for the American People! I hope that Independent chic from Cali who is running against you for your position actually wins, although Im sure the democratic party will manipulate the media to make her appear unstable, a psycho-nut.

But unlike you, at least SHE is willing to actually go to work!

I concur with the notion about Rev. Wright. Although I respect the man and have a good idea of where he stands, he should have waited till after the Dem Primary election or even after the General election when tension dies down to speak to the media about the issue.

Now he’s just drawing positive attention away from where it needs to stay, on Obama.

  19. i'm just here for the free food

the time’s cover is a lil disturbing, but i get where they were going with it. GO OBAMA!!!

i know this is totally off, but when you look at tim duncan sometimes, doesn’t he look a lil glazed over?! even when he wins a game, he has that “duh” look on his face. just my observation. LOL

  20. moxpoe1

    Shag…….totally agree with you.

Obama had just about put the reverend issue behind him and now idiot Wright goes and grants an invertview that will raise more ?’s about Obama rather than underscore what Obama said in his speech.

I do support Hillary over Obama, but what rev. wright is doing is egotistical and irresponsible at this juncture. Obama has a chance to achieve something that is extremely hard to achieve so why rev. wright does not concieve this is beyond me. He’s doing more damage to Obama, this time around it may be irrepairable.

  21. Ara

    Barack Obama President 2008!!

Word is as reported on MSNBC, Hillary knows she can not win the nomination for the Democratic Party, so she and Bill are purposely trying to sabotage Barack’s chance of winning the presidential election in November against John McCain. Hillary is planning now to run against McCain in 2012.

  22. NoMoSoul

@23, thats a huge accusation. Although I probably wouldnt put it past Hillary Clinton. She has planned, calculated, and schemed to become be President based off Bill’s popular status (smart women. Almost a gold digger. But insanely ambitious)

Being President has been her ultimate agenda for a long time now, and she’s reached it. But i still say she’d be a good president, as well as Obama. But really i dont care which takes the cake. Ive lost all faith in that particular office. As well as in Congress.

Just face it, America’s screwed. We’re run by the elite. Y cant people SEE IT? Because they’re too busy worried about the issues which merely scratch the surface of this huge catastrophe that’s ruining this country. No ones educated enoguh to see past all the bull.

  23. superduper50000000000

i aint tryna bust a Lebron James n Gisele thing again–but why Hilary is in Sepia-she’s white and Obama is in Black n White –Sam3 w/ the Nba ad–they both should be black and white split images.\

  24. softouchtothecore

    Obama for change!!!!!! Gooooooooooooooo Obama!!!!!!

  25. Holleywood

    Thanks, J. Dakar ;0

  26. FASHIONESQUE

they did it for hilary cuz she wood look old as hell in da black n white lol
i like da idea of the split pics tho

  27. DralCash904

II hate to admit this but Bow Wow and Omarion bought this “Face Off” pic back.

  28. hellarandom00

I’m so tired of these mofo’s!!!

First of all, Obama is going to get the ticket, whether peopl like it or not…

2nd, @SHAG Rev. Wright is being used as a pawn to taint obama’s campaign. No more no less. I agree with the man 100%, but yes he does need to step back. To your IGNORANT ass comment abt “us” needing to have coalitions and shit to be elected…shut that mess down. This system isn’t made for us to succeed let alone for one of “us” to get elected to run this raggedy ass country. IMO, I have supported Obama prior to him announcing his canidacy HOWEVER, I think that this whole thing is a setup. Let a dumbass white man, with the IQ of -37 f*ck the country up and leave all the cleaning up to a black man. Black ppl, don’t be too excited abt this election. White folks plan 10 years ahead and again, IN MY OPINION, this is a set up.

and finally, HILLARY SIT YO OLD WRINKLED ASS DOWN!!

Peace, love and hair grease :)
