Raven-Symoné, who recently revealed that her upcoming tour was canceled due to undisclosed reasons, is covering the newest issue of Jet Mag. The star told the weekly mag that she won’t change for fame and speaks on her image perception:
‘”I have to stay true to who I am’, says Disney star Raven-Symoné, 22, regarding her new self-titled CD, which is slated for release April 29. ‘I am not going to sing about sex, drugs and violence, that’s just not who I am’, she continues. As she prepares for the CD’s release and a 55-city Pajama Party concert tour, the confident and talented entertainer hopes this project will fill a void in today’s music. We need some music that will open people’s minds up and give them other things to think about other than the same things we have been giving them for a while. Maybe my album can do that.’
While the 5-foot-2-inch singer-actress stays true to her music, she’s also staying true to her image by being comfortable with her size. ‘When I look in the mirror and see how voluptuously fabulous I am, I can’t even worry about it. I am just fabulous.’”

I can respesct her for staying true to herself. However, what is she really doing as far as acting and singing? I saw her in that movie with Martin Lawrence but other than that she hasn’t really done anything since “Thats So Raven”. Her music is pretty mediocre in my opinion and she hasn’t even built in a fanbase. Please don’t say those white kids who watched Thats So Raven are going to buy her album because they have already moved on to Hannah Montana.

@12 I think one of the reasons she hasn’t much acting success outside of Cosby and Thats so Raven is because Hollywood isnt very nice to black actresses (or women of colour in general) so it must b tough for her, perhaps thats why she still does the Disney stuff because there isn’t much else she can do in Hollywood.
I think Raven is a great role model, and her music will probably do well with the young children, she also did a great job of the cheetah girls. However I think it will soon be time for her to move on to more mature jobs and widen her horizons.

Remember that blind item CL posted a LOOOONG time ago about a star with no friends who was a B to her costars? Well, tons of people thought it was Raven and I have to now say that I DO TOO! I saw her on Chelsea Lately and she is a HUGE B*^%&! The kind who cuts you up and then resumes normal convo…and that’s how you know the real ones…they attack and then relax…because they’ve got nothing in the way of remorse or guilt or concern for your feelings. She cut Chelsea up and yet they had some very nice, funny moments. Chelsea, who usually makes fun of people to their faces, was so confused by Raven’s ability to slice her and go right back into giggles lol
