Ne-Yo - Used to You (full) - listen
Ne-Yo has begun work on his third studio album, Year of the Gentlemen, which is set to release June 24th. I have liked the material that I’ve heard from the upcoming release so far. It took me a little while to get used to the single, “Closer,” but it has grown on me a lot. “Used to You” almost sounds like a Neptunes track to me. It seems as though Ne-Yo is going for a more retro sound on the new record. I am actually excited for this one.
Busta Rhymes - Don’t Touch Me (full) - listen
Here is the first single from Busta Rhymes from his upcoming album. When I first heard it, it put me in the mindset of the first song that leaked when Diddy was gearing up to release Press Play, with the James Brown-inspired “Get Off Me.” I think it’s just the instrumentation, because here, you just hear classic Busta Rhymes. But the chorus definitely gives me that Brown-esque call-and-response sound. I really liked Busta’s last album, so hopefully this one will be equally as satisfying.
Ludacris - Stay Together (full) - listen
Ludacris, who has achieved a great deal of crossover success, is back with a new song, “Stay Together.” The new song basically just says “United we stand, divided we fall.” Nice message, but the verses almost make it seem like a big joke. Ludacris raps about everything from the Brad/Angelina/Jennifer love triangle, from Diamond leaving Crime Mob. Although, I really like the sample choice, I think they could have done a little more with it. I hate when a good sample clearance goes to waste.
Lupe Fiasco feat. Matthew Santos - Superstar (Acoustic) (full) - listen
Here’s an acoustic version of Lupe’s hit, “Superstar.” I really liked this song when it first leaked. I just loved how it sounded - but then radio got a hold of it and it was all down-hill from there. The video was coming on all the time, and I think I just got over it. But this new acoustic version has definitely revived my appreciate for the song. I just like the delivery all over again.

A new Neyo cd….that just made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
off subject though:
Concreteloop….you NEED to do a poll asking if you are a hillary or obama supporter, if they click obama, then another question should come up and ask you if obama does not win will you either A) vote Hillary B) vote McCain C) not vote at all because your person is not on the presidental ballot and vice versa for hillary supporters

Love Luda long time!!!
Really feeling Lupe’s acoustic version of Superstar..I see Lupe’s camp is not playing when it comes to promoting this album. This version will definitely appeal to other audiences.

On second listen though, I do wish that Ludacris would go back to how he used to spit. “Back for the First Time” and “Word of Mouf” and even “Chicken and Beer” shows how dope he used to be as an rapper. He’s getting soft. I miss the old Luda straight up.

I didn’t like Ne-yo and I think this track doesn’t give me good reason to say why I do now, but hey you can’t please everybody someone will love that.
Busta…I feel is a little past his prime. Didnt he save any money he can’t retire?
I never like Luda tracks, so no need to comment.
love Lupe.

how did the luda song go over your head like that? waste of a sample clearence? it serves its purpose, the song clearly is an ode to the relationships we all loved from music to movies come to an end and how the public would love to see them stay together. im feeling the track and the message is dope, too many groups have fallen to ego and pride when they were cleary better together than apart. Hot Boys reunion anyone?

Ne-yo’s new song does sound like a Neptunes joint…which worries me that the rest of his album, or a lot of it may sound thats way. That would suck because his last album sounded like Prince and Michael Jackson, and this one would be like he’s copying someone again…booooooo!!!! Still love him
Busta…..SKIP
Luda…I’m really feeling it, download in progress.
Lupe never disappoints me so good job
thanks brian!♥♥♥

I did not feel the Neyo track, at all. It seems like a song homosexual men would like.
Busta Rymes- I song is a club banger.
Luda- I enjoyed. I like the fluctuation of his voice against the track. I felt it.
Lupe- The acoustic version is cool. Like the original better. Matthew is gettin off on that one.

Neyo: Although this song will have to grow on me, I am excited about his next album
Luda: Like the Jigga reference. Like the song’s concept. I agree with #32… Us BET watchers tolerate a lot of songs that have no substance. When do yo hear about artists in other genres beefing? So, Luda wants us all to get along and ya’ll think its whack?
Lupe: I love, love, love it!

@ #19
…I totally agree. What Luda did lyrically (?) with this song, is the same thing common and erykah badu did with their odes to Hip-Hop. The only difference is that he is referring to all things from Music, relationships and family bonds. People have to start thinking on a different level if progress is going to be made. There is always more BENEATH the surface!!!
