Chilli – Dumb Dumb Dumb (full) – listen
Here’s new music from Chilli of TLC fame. The new song, “Dumb Dumb Dumb,” was produced by Atlanta-based production group, Battery 5. For a while, there were rumors of Chilli signing a deal with Akon on his Konvict Music label, and now, apparently, Chilli is working on a deal with Epic Records, whom Brandy recently signed with. I love the production on “Dumb Dumb Dumb,” but I don’t know how I feel about Chilli as a solo artist. What do you think? Does she have what it takes?

I’m sorry. But. Gold braids? I swear, when I saw the promo picture, I was really just – all I could do was laugh. And then it was followed by a song titled, “Hair Braider.” As many of you know, I really always have my reservations before listening to R. Kelly songs. In any event, the new song is from R. Kelly’s new album, due out this summer. I really felt like we just got Double Up a couple of months ago, but apparently, he felt like it was time to give his fans another taste. I’m thinking that he’s going to start appearing on every major remix again.
Raven-Symone – In the Pictures (full) – listen
Raven takes a stab at her very own acoustic track. Within the last year, we’ve heard “Irreplaceable,” Rihanna’s “Good Girl Gone Bad,” Jordin Sparks’ “Tattoo,” and Chris Brown’s “With You.” And let’s not forget Michelle’s “Stop This Car,” which will be featured on her new album. I guess now that Raven is supposedly working on a new album, they decided to hook her up with Stargate to see what they could come up with. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. It’s just sort of – there. It seems as though, really, you just can’t go wrong with these acoustic-inspired tracks.
Cherish feat. Jermaine Dupri & Kid Slim – Killa (Remix) (full) – listen
Of course, there’s a So So Def Remix for Cherish’s song, “Killa,” which appears on the Step Up 2 soundtrack, and also on their sophomore album, The Truth, which is due out in stores too. It took a minute for “Killa” to grow on me, but the more I heard it and when the video came out, I was sold on the song. The thing I actually like about Cherish is that the girls really can sing. Even though I’m not fond on the remix, I definitely am in love with the second single from the album, “Amnesia,” which we’ve posted in our new music review before.

Chilli’s song was the only catchy one.
Those acoustic songs take a while to grow on me, so Raven will have to wait, but I’m sure it be decent after a few more plays.

Because at the end of the day, music is music. Regardless of their personal life. You have rappers that have been to jail for misdemeanors, or straight up shooting or killing someone, yet, their albums are bought. And to also mention the fact that a lot of their fans plead for them to get less time in jail, and they always do. Not trying to justify what R.Kelly did, but at the same time, anyone who has VIEWED the video should see the bright light of it all. I DO agree, that he should be more careful with the actions he takes, due to being out in the public eye. Music is music. Either you choose to love it for what you hear, or just hate it for what you hear. Simple.

Chilli song is still boring to me, she has got a good voice but she isnt really using it. The song is garbage.
Raven’s song is ok but I dont get why the verses sound mature and are sung in the lower register, but the chorus sounds immature like something that would have been left out of the cheetah girls’ album. This isnt a good choice for first single.

Chilli’s song is wild! I love it! That’s my baby girl right there! I think she totally has what it takes AND more. No Scrubs was her lead and it went to #1. Raven’s is OK too.
