Ryan Leslie & Cassie – Addiction (full) – listen
Check out this new song from Ryan Leslie and Cassie. Ryan has been getting plenty of play from his new song, “Diamond Girl,” and is set to release his album this summer. Although “Diamond Girl” has grown on me, I’m not sure how I feel about this new song, “Addiction.” Ryan, who is randomly a Harvard alumni, is responsible for producing Cassie’s entire first album, as well as for Cheri Dennis and Danity Kane. I must admit, Leslie is a talented and intelligent guy – but I’m not sure if I see it for him as an artist.

We posted this song months ago, but I got so many e-mails about it, as if it were really new music that I decided to post it up again. The track is written by Sean Garrett, who is dropping an album as well this summer. I think that the song is really hilarious, considering Raven’s Disney background. She’s talking about club bangers, getting dough, hustling and all of that. I’m not sure who Raven’s trying to target here: her Disney viewers or people her own age. Raven’s about 22 or 23 these days, isn’t she?

I don’t think Nicole Scherzinger’s album is coming out anymore. I’ve been hearing that Interscope scraped the project, but music is still leaking. I posted a snippet of “Physical” before, but here’s the full version. What’s funny about it is, credit is now being given to Danjahandz for producing it, and it also appeared years ago on ASCAP’s site as Pussycat Dolls song. Was Nicole recycling old PCD tracks for her album? I think it’s a shame that the label put so much money into her record, Her Name Is Nicole (2 videos, and 3 singles?!) and it isn’t even dropping.
Mariah Carey feat. Da Brat – 4Real4Real (full) – listen
Mariah’s new album, E=MC² hit stores today, but there were a couple of songs that didn’t make the shelve release. “4Real4Real” is an iTunes bonus track featuring long-time friend and previous feature, Da Brat. Although I can see why the song is a bonus track, it sounds about like everything else that Mariah made for the album. It was good to hear from Da Brat again, no matter how much I hate the new hair.

LMAO @ Raven’s song. I wanna give her a chance, but I just can’t picture her doing anything other than disney songs. The song sounds like something I’ve heard before….the chorus is catchy though. And she doesn’t sound bad. So….I’ll give her a C+. I need to hear something more mature from her though.
Cassie actually sounds decent on this song. Probably because she’s mainly on the chorus, so that’s a minimal chance to eff up.
Well i’m listening to Raven’s lyrics and they’re telling an important story. Mimi’s damn near 40 and trying to be gangsta. I say Raven’s in the right spot and Mimi’s out of place sort of speak, even though I dislike both songs.

Regarding that Nicole joint, NO that’s just the fan made 90 second loop. The full version has not leaked. If you’re nice enough to listen to the full length, you can tell after 1:30 you hear it on repeat til the end.
On the Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer film, you can hear Physical being played in the background. You can hear parts that we never heard from. That’s an indication that this is not the full version.

R.Les and Cassie…i am a fan of his production…FOR OTHER ARTISTS! I am not convinced with him as an artist yet…but I’ll keep an open mind. Cassie…I dont think her collaborating with R.Les is a good idea. The two of them together are stronger than sleeping pills! They both have such monotonic, lazy singing voices…they sound tired all the time. I am sure Diddy noticed that too…probably why he has some “heavy Hitters” to help produce her next album, to WAKE her style up! Hope it works!

I don’t like the Ryan Leslie & Cassie collaboration at all. Cassie has no tone to her voice. She’s just talking. She can’t pull off whispery vocals, in my opinion.
Raven’s song is kinda nice. It’s like an updated version of “Independent Woman”. I think the fact that she’s been at Disney for a while is causing people to reject this type of track from her. I think this song would be received better if it was coming from singers like Monica, Keyshia Cole, or Shareefa. You know, somebody with more of a believable edge to them.
