Solange Knowles – Sandcastle Disco (snippet) – listen
Is it just me or am I really digging everything that I’ve heard from this new Solange project so far. SoL-Angel & the Hadley Street Dreams is coming out August 26th and Geffen Records is extremely excited about the project. The single, “I Decided,” has hit Amazon.com and will be released on iTunes soon. “Sandcastle Disco” is a really fun track, super soulful and very danceable. I’m really loving what she’s doing. I’m proud of Solange. It really seems as though she’s stepping out on her own.
Nelly feat. Akon – Body On Me (full) – listen
Check out this new song from Nelly, featuring Akon from his upcoming release, Brass Knuckles, due out June 24th. A lot for albums are being released that day. In any event, I’m not really feeling this song as much as I was liking “Party People.” Nelly has been waiting to to put out this album for a minute now, and a video was just released for “Party People,” with Fergie. I’m hoping that this song isn’t on the album, I’m just not digging it as much as the other material I’ve heard from Brass Knuckles.
Michelle Williams – Hello Heartbreak (snippet) – listen
New music is constantly leaking from Michelle Williams from her third studio album, but first contemporary released, Unexpected. All the songs that I’ve heard, I’ve really loved, and I think this should be quite interesting because fans have really given Michelle a lot of positive feedback about the new album. I haven’t heard anything about a release date, nor have I heard the new single, “We Break the Dawn” on radio or anything, but I’m really excited. I wonder how she’ll sell in comparison the Kelly, who is already back in the studio, working on her third solo effort.
Ryan Leslie – Rescue You (long snippet) – listen
Here goes another song from the talented Ryan Leslie. “Rescue You” is supposedly a track from his debut album. A couple of years ago, Leslie released an album online, free for all his fans. But this time around, he’s releasing a new album in stores and via iTunes. The single, “Diamond Girl” has been really well recieved, and although I think that Ryan is a talented guy, I just don’t really know if I see him as an artist. I absolutely love him as a producer, though.
i really liked i decided but this song sounds like you know i’m no good by amy winehouse. good try though. anybody heard the janelle monae song locked inside.? i saw the oakland performance on youtube. i love that record.

So far, this is the best i’ve heard from Solange. But i still don’t know what to quite make of it….but it’s not bad at all. It’s got a sixties sound, and her harmonies are good. I can’t sneeze at this one. Now them other ones…hmmmmm…..
And i swear Nelly is such a “garbage artist”…….his music is so meaningless and mindless. Akon saved his ass on this track, cause if it weren’t for Akon’s voice, i wouldn’t be listening at all. And when Akon’s voice leaves the track and Nelly takes over, the song goes downhill for me….lol….

Didn’t feel the need to listen to the Nelly track. I’ve been an Akon hater since the beginning. LOL.
Solange – It’s okay. She’s smart in not doing straight contemporary R&B b/c she knows she will be compared to Bey. That said, I wouldn’t really spend money on this type of music. I don’t really like all the doo wap. Her vocals have been stepped up though and her song writing is still some of the hotest in the game.
Michelle – Uuhh…huh? I got over techno club music back in 2001 as I thought everybody else had, too. I guess what’s old is always new again. It’s a cool song though, but not gonna make it onto the iphone.
Ryan L – Too bland. The beat sounds dated and the lyrics sound cookie cutter. I get so tired of overly masculine R&B music from dudes. It’s formulaic.
Okay. So today I guess I’m a super hater. Oh well. LOL.
Hope Kelly Rowland is taking note!!

It does and it’s because she’s copying Amy…there are tons of British singers who are copying her now, too. People are only rooting for Solange because it feels like rooting against her sister. When the truth is, both of them are trying to crack somebody else’s code.

Ryan Leslie – Rescue You is my jam!!! I have been loving that song for about a year now. I wouldn’t mind if that was the next single but he has a lot of songs that he could chose from. He has a YouTube channel for those of that don’t know. There are many songs up.
