Ashanti is one of those people can sing but her voice just never sounds nice especially live… I dunno why she sounds like she’s straining or shouting it’s like she’s always tring to sing in the wrong key like two whole octaves…

Ashanti sounds good. I like her. I hope her album is successful. At least she writes better meaningful and thought provoking songs than Beyonce’s old tired azz lyrics such as “I don’t think you ready for this jelly..or pat your weave..” but I am not here to hate on B because she is doing her thing. I was there..and the event overrall on a scale of 1-10…was an 7…(the clothes were whack, and there was no flow to the show), lol….. but back to topic at hand…Ashanti did really good …in my opinion she is not an “AWSOME” singer, but on that night live I was impressed. ……….I’m ashame to say this, but I might buy the album, the last 2 were good, she is not the best singer, but when the production,writing, lyrics, and flow of an album are on point it makes for a good listen.

I seen 106 and Park when Nelly was on there, he was really holding it down for her, I like the fact they are at least honest about their relatinship with their fans, they both seem like good people despite all the hate, I hope she does make a comeback so the haters can shut up, but then again they never do!

I think she did good but the only thing that annoyed me was when she tried to hyped of the crowd in between the song. She didn’t need to do that with a passionate song like this. She should of just stand there professionally and sing her little heart out. That way the crowd would hear and understand the lyric better and feel the song. I think she need to practice better stage presense.

I think everyone on CL just jumps on the Hateration band wagon, I sing and I do believe Ashanti has a good voice, she has really improved over the years.
Technically speaking she has more of a vocal range than Alicia keys, Im not hating its true. But people think Alicia can sang, its all about singing in the range that is comfortable for that particular person and Ashanti is learning to do that so good for her.
She has def took some singing lessons and she sounds so MUCH better!!

I love Ashanti, and you can tell that she has grown as an artist. I can’t wait for the album, because even though she isn’t the best vocalist, you can always count on her to deliver a BANGIN album.
People can say what they want about Ashanti, but she is doing her thing and she sounds and looks great. Its so funny that people was all in her ass when she first came out and sold over 500,000 copies of her debut cd in its first week, which no other solo female artist (not even Beyonce) had ever done, and it gained her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Woooow… I remember when she first came out, she was like the WORST live singer ever… But man, watching this is like watching an entirely different woman. She was incredible. She sounded just like the record, and sung with so much emotion and (like others have mentioned) convinction.
If she keeps this up, I will definitely buy her album. Say whatever you want about the old Ashanti, but this one definitely has talent. She had a rough start…but give her some credit. She’s grown a lot, man.
