It seems like Kelly Rowland is just throwing out videos left and right. We got “Put It In (Work)” not too long ago, as well as “Daylight” with Gym Class Heroes’ front man, Travis McCoy. Now, she releases a video for “Comeback,” which I’m assuming will be a single they release for the digital re-release of her sophomore album, Ms. Kelly.
You may recall a while ago, we posted photos from the video shoot. I think Kelly shot “Comeback” and “Work” on the same day. In any event, Kelly looks absolutely beautiful in the video. But then again, when doesn’t she?

Good video! No question that she’s sexy the jury was out on that along time ago. She’s not innovative, and way too much like Beyonce. She needs her own image and sound. She sounds like a wack version of Beyonce and Brandy mixed together. She has stated herself that Brandy is one of her biggest inspirations, and we all know how she big-ups Beyonce every chance she gets but the problem is she isn’t as talented as either one of them.
Maybe she should get into attacking or something like that for a little while.

I think the song and video are both nice, however Kelly needs to do more to set her apart from the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, etc. She’s not a bad singer, she looks amazing, but she’s still missing that extra “it” factor to make people take notice. She needs to go and find her own identity and her own niche.

I liked the video. She showed more range compared to the “Like This” video and the “Work It” video was definitely too cut and dry. This time around she is definitely selling that sex appeal but I prefer men so it justs boils down to good ole talent for me as a fan of hers. LOL. I would’ve preferred to see some dancing but she did a good production either way.

Agree with 26 when a great song comes round we shun it, i love this song, she is sexing it up a little too much, and i think you can stay a great artist and still be in charge in the game without waving your ass in my face, you don’t have to be like everyone else, look at Chrisette Michele, Jill Scott, India Arie all can sing ok a little out of Kelly’s league never the less they don’t have to sex it up and take your attention away from the song, and that may be a possible reason why people aren’t feeling it as much they are not concentrating on the lyrics just the video.

I totally disagree w/ #12! Beyonce does not own the copyright on being sexy. If Kelly resembles Beyonce in anyway its because they were both in Destiny’s Child, that style they have is still reminiscent of what Destiny was doing but Beyonce gets the credit for it.
I like Kelly and I think she has done a great job in carving out her own, for what she has to work with, seeing as how she is under promoted and hyped in the US! The only one comparing her to Beyonce are Beyonce’s fans who compare everyone and everything to Beyonce.

If Rihanna and Ciara who are not the best singers in the world can sell CDs then it just shows that Kelly lacks the IT factor, yes this video is good and she is trying her best to perform but she jsut comes off as a poor mans Beyonce and not herself. The key to being a successful artist is to be yourself and to have a personality.
When Rihanna, Ciara, Janet or Beyonce have videos whether I am a fan or not I still want to watch them because they have the IT factor, they exubberate celebrityness, but Kelly doesnt. I think shes singing the wrong genre, this sound isnt for her.
Also the songs are poorly written, neither Work nor Comeback even sound like they have a chorus so how are people going to sing-a-long to the songs? Thats the biggest part of a song! Who the feck writes these songs for her and why didnt she notice the weak/lack of chorus?

What I don’t get is how people FEED into the stereotypes, like if you don’t have a booty, this and that, and the third. People want Kelly to be something, she’s clearly not, people expect her to live as apart of Destiny’s Child, in Beyonce’s shadow, etc. But what you guys don’t realize is you’re the ones putting here there. If she wanted, she can have a career built solely on dancing, kelly can lyp-sync to pre-recorded tracks, sing words here and tehre like Ciara, while performing some choreogrpahy, it seems people would rather see that. It’s almost as if music has evolved passed the times of good ol’ soul singing, and energy. Everyone wants a rehearsed routine. If you don’t like Ms. Kelly, don’t force yourselves, because even though you’re not buying her album, I AM, and people like me are. I know ya’ll would hate to be compared to anyone else, because you would like to think you’re differnt and do you… right? Kelly is different and she does HER. Give it up, because you’re not changing her. Kelly has a multi-faceted range, and ability, and you can see that by her two albums, Simply Deep & Flashback. She makes music that means something.

OK, this is one of my favorite joints on the CD. I actually think Kelly’s videos hurt and don’t help her music. She has absolutely no stage presence. She cannot pull of the “one sound stage, poor quality, cheap” video. This same stage with the 2 props and special effects was used to shoot her “Ghetto” video as well as the “Work” video, I see….
