This is a nice song but it doesnt sound like a major hit which is a good thing cause I wouldnt want Lupe to get too commercial. Hes a very good rapper.

@ 12. The point is that you are doing something that you love. He should continue to do his thing and tour. He has fans worldwide, who cares if he isn’t platinum. He is going to let his loyal fans down if he doesn’t release any new materials or albums.

I like the song. I hope Lupe has the tough skin that he’ll need to continue making songs like these. His kind is few and far in between in the hip hop industry these days.

I love this song, Sunday afternoon jam…

I absolutely loved this video. It flowed smooth and relaxed (like the song) and the wardrobe was VERY fresh. I loved how the girls were classy and DRESSED. The entire vibe of the video was classy. First point I want to clap up.

Second point, Lupe is phenomenal and although he may have a few misses (ala the VH1 Hip Honors slip up..), he is a true lyricist with innate talent that cannot be denied. I hope that the video gets good airplay on the networks though because mainstream loves to ignore folks like him.

@11 some of my favorite musicans are not commercial artists like Goapele, Amel Larrieux, Common, Talib Kweli. When I say I dont want them to get commercial doesnt mean I dont want them to be successful!

When a lot of artists go commercial the value of their music declines,( ie nelly furtado). They give up their originality for money.

I did not mean taht I dont want them to make a lot of money, of course I do but I respect artists who make music they love and don’t sell-out!!!

Lu is the truth to hip hop. He is so slept on by the industry even thought he’s a phenomenal mc. You cannot listen to his mixtapes and not become a fan. I hope he doesn’t retire because without any music from him I don’t know what I’d listen to in terms of hip hop. The thing I love about him is he’s so real and I never get worried about him selling out, it’s just not him.

@ #11, I have read why Lupe says he wants out and I can only come to the conclusion that, like you said, it’s because he’s not getting the recognition he deserves.
Lupe’s extremely underrated and its a sad fact that his music isnt appreciated. I totally understand if he wants out because of that. At the end of the day its a reflection of the world we live in, and sadly there’s not much else fans can do but continue to support music he makes.

A superb mind used to be appreciated. Just not anymore.

Lupe has talent and the video is decent. On his next lp being his final lp…BYE! Like Jay said “it ain’t for everybody.” For him to be so arrogant and dissing classic Hip Hop bands like Tribe Called Quest (see the Hip Hop Honors controversy) you would think he’d have more stamina for the industry. I think artists like him are afraid to fail with another possible lp follow-up that doesn’t sell as well as his previous efforts. That sucks.

I absolutely love this song! This was the first song that stood out amongst the rest of the tracks on his album. Something about this song reminds me of a cold cloudy day listening to John Coltrane or Duke Ellington. It has that cool crisp vibe that you can relax to. People are still in this mode that hiphop is dead but when you have jewels such as this song it shows that there are still creative talents out there that can give us something to listen to. Much luv Lupe maybe i’ll take a trip to paris or tokyo ; - )
