Mary looks great and this is one of the best songs on her CD. But I hate when these directors all jump on the same bandwagon. First Benny Boom and Keyshia with the Hawaii scene and now this. I guess it’s easier to imitate than to innovate.
I like Mary alot but surely there must have been better songs on the album to release than this, Im not feeling it and dont think it will grow on me. The video looks cheap and the outfits look ghetto.
Mary has some major insecurities with her hair, on the Tyra show she was saying that she wished she had “Indian hair” and I was like wtf whats wrong with black hair? No wonder why shes always rocking these blonde wigs and blonde weaves. Its a shame that black women in the media have so much self-hatred-(Tyra, Bey and Mary are some of the biggest culprits of this type of mentality and it really pisses me off.
I last video I like what he did had Beyonce in but never-the-less Mary J is the bomb!!

Wow…how unoriginal is Hype Williams?…seriously…who can forget all the ariel shots of the mountains and snow and other artic crap for Ne-Yo’s “So Sick”? lol…recycling huh? National Geographic called Hype…they want their film back. And Mary…sweetie…you’re wearing all these big fur coats and jackets in front of a GREEN SCREEN? Sweety? they couldn’t even fly you on location? It’s so flippin cheap its ridiculous. Why would Mary need to copy Keyisha Cole? Keyisha Cole is trying to be Mary and is failing miserably I might add. Nothing Keyisha has done has been on the level of My Life, What’s the 411, Mary, Share My World, The Breakthrough.
This is my favorite song off of her album. The lyrics are real and to the point! Now are far as the video not feeling it. Looks like they just thru something together maybe because her tour was coming up I dont know. I thought her next video wouldve been for Hurt Again, I thought that was her newest single on the radio right now.

@29 Bobby- the reason why Mary and Keyshia are compared is because Keyshia is a Mary copycat, as much as I like her music its just like Mary’s, her image is the same as Marys and shes just a younger Mary. Its not hateration to compare them (although in most cases with other artists it is uneccessary) but in this case its not.
The video does look a bit like Keyshia’s heaven sent, neither of the videos are good anyway and Mary can do better than this, did she not watch the video back as they were fiming?

I am moved by the respect and honor that she shows to her husband in an era when some would call it obsolete.
I love the song Stay Down. It speaks of what can happen in a relationship when there is an agreement to struggle together in hard times and share freely when better days arrive.
I appreciate how Mary is so honest about her imperfections and moments of frailty.
I honor her for allowing God to reveal the miracles He can bring about in a person’s life when they submit to His will.
Mary is real. She is a better witness to the true love of God than most of the so-called religious leaders we see today.

I love the song but I wasnt feeling the video so much. She looked pretty but I feel the song has a story line and deserved a video that also told a story..Overall I expected more from Hype Williams.

This video reminds me too much of Ne Yo’s “So Sick” video, with the winter wonderland scenes…I do think that the obvious use of green screen isn’t cool, and I would have expected a little more variety in the vid than just a few hair chages and jacket switch-ups.
I thought the video was nice actually. I’m mostly glad that she chose to do this single over “Hurt Again,” because “Hurt Again” is a little too bland for a second single. Though I have to agree with many others when they say this video looks recycled. It was like a cross between “Everything”/”Enough Cryin’”/”So Sick.” But at least it was a winter video. Also I’m confused as to why she isn’t really promoting her album as much as she should be. The tour aside, this is the first Mary video since “Just Fine,” and that was back in October. She has a great album, with many possible #1s, but it seems like she is just leaving the door open for AKeys and Mariah to kick her down a few notches. Come on blonde queen.
Speaking of which, I was reading #22, and I kinda agree a little with the whole hair issue. She is a little bit too obsessed with trying to look a bit European. The blonde is getting a little too played out with black women, it’s becoming disgusting. I can’t wait until she changes it again. Many other R&B divas are going back to black, which is wayyyyy, more sexier than blonde in my eyes. It is obvious why Keyshia went black because she wanted to stop the Mary comparisons, and I think that was a great move. I’ve never seen her look as phenomenal as she does now. Keysh makes me wanna melt. But anyway, this song is one of the best on Growing Pains.
