Popular writer and producer Sean Garrett, also known as the “The Pen,” releases a video for his first single, “Grippin’ (On the Bed),” featuring Ludacris. Although I’m a little bit against this new influx of producers pushing out albums (The Dream, now Sean Garrett), I guess they want to get their creative juices out too.
Sean Garrett is responsible for punching out hits for Beyonce, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Fantasia and many, many more. His album, Turbo 919, is set to release sometime this summer.

The song isn’t bad at all, I think its catchy. There’s bad sound on this video though. Sean isn’t the most attractive man…but neither was Ne-yo. They should have covered that stupid mohalk thing on his head tho.

I’m not impressed! I agree with the nasal autotune comments! He should have produced that one also. I’m sure it will be over-played on the radio and I will eventually be singing along. I also don’t like the choice of women in the video; I’m just sick of the the obvious long weave, light complexcion if you are light it’s alright blah blah blah….
FYI – I am light complexcion and had my own long hair but I’m not blind or dumb to what is obviously being done in the music industry! I had to add this so I don’t get beat up on here..lol..

I didn’t really like the song, sounds like a lot of what’s out now. Shallow lyrics, vocoder, rap cameo…not unique at all. But will get major play because it’s about SEX. Nor did i like the video, kind of boring.
Also since he’s not the most attractive person at least give dude women that are equal to his attraction level, and get women of all varieties not just the same type of “look” women so his videos don’t fall into the same ole R&B/Hip-Hop formula. Just a couple of suggestions. He’s a great songwriter though because I love the stuff he’s done for other artists.

i did like the song till i just watched the video, and now i have a different opinion about it. i think it would have been better if someone else did the song, and video. Also that computerized voice for the pitch drives me crazy leave that to t-pain. and he’s not someone i enjoyed looking at either. Plus Luda is losing is flavor, and that whole part about “sit you $5 hind parts down so i can make change” is just wrong.
