However, I do agree in that I actually prefer Baker’s version of the open toed boots versus the real deal. I enjoy the ridged bottom and the eyelits for the shoe strings alot better. I dont think I’d wear the black ones though. It diminishes the feature just a *little*. Plus I have way too much black in my wardrobe to begin with.

the knock offs are very similar to the real thing..however, i wouldn’t wear neither one. The colorful heel dont do it for me..and the back-less boot heel isn’t my cup of tee either.

I totally agree with #62 and the crazy thing is sometimes(key word sometimes) the only difference between designer and a knock off is the which label gets sewn on. They did a study about peoples perception of value and almost everyone thought that the most expensive item was better because they were told it was more expensive. Well I saw those shoes waaaaaaay before I saw them on Beyonce. They were in all the Balenciaga ads but you wouldn’t notice them because of the get-up the model was wearing in the ad. Anyhoo, I love the Lego heels (the first shoe) but nbo I wouldn’t spend 4k unless I had money to throw away. Go into a Prada store and try on a couple pairs of their shoes (just front like you have money). Then go to Nordstrom or Bakers and try on those shoes. There is no difference, honey. And trust me, I am 26 and make decent money. I could drop money on shoes if I wanted to, but I am smart enough to put that money into an investment. A SHOE IS A SHOE. So, I just can’t get its appeal, both to any woman who would buy it and any woman who would want to buy it. It’s ugly. It was meant as a conceptual piece, probably, to be displayed with the collection. So, I just don’t get it….wanting that shoe, is like wanting the odd masks or the stilts they wore in shows last year…they’re oddities meant to draw attention IMO.

Now, the shoe boot, I LOVE IT. I absolutely WOULD spend every cent of the $1650 for it, if I wore leather. I would buy the knock off too, if I wore leather. That shoe, I get. The other is just fodder for runway shows…and the few poor souls who will actually buy things because they mean spending exorbitant amounts like celebrities.

Having the “ends”, (courtesy of my husband, ’cause I’ma student), does NOT always justify the “means”. 1K is my absolute limit and that’s a rare limit because I’m so dam stingy! 5K is about the cost of 1 of my classes, so I couldn’t in sound mind, go out like that!

I wouldn’t spend my hard earned on either pair to be honest. When you look at the money involved you’re talking rent, car payments, holidays, a couple months of food for some people. I can afford that, but for shoes that’ll go out of style next season? No way in hell. We all need to get our prioroties straight if this is what matters.

I agree with many of the other posters who say if you can afford some shoes for 4grand I surely hope you own a house and a car and have a great job with some investments. Maybe your feelings or excitement got caught in that sentence because I hope you really don’t feel that way. Women with those ends that because some of the leading ladies in finances wouldn’t waste their money on that or down other women, but help them get to that point. I rather continue paying my mortgage which is less than that. To say something about your man getting it for you shows these young teens that they should be some type of gold diggers or somethin. I’m sure you are a grown woman so set good examples for the youth.
