Just yesterday, Cassie’s new single, “Official Girl” surfaced on the internet. The new single, produced by Danja and penned by The Clutch, is the first single from Cassie’s sophomore effort. The thing about it is, 16 year-old Karina Pasian recorded the song as well. Karina (who is signed to Def Jam) has been making waves with her song “16 At War” and can throw down on the piano.
I actually believe in this song and I think it’s a good a look. Vocally, I’m not really impressed with either version, but I know that I do like Karina’s voice. I think that it’s just the vocal arrangement and production is meant to be underwhelming, so that’s why I’m not really impressed with either. But what do you think? Who sang it better?

Cassie can sing it better because she has a sweeter and softer voice and ppl cassie can sing the only thing is she has Stage frights and that’s when her voice get’s a bit out of hand. Come on she’s a human being, nobody’s perfect we all make mistakes.
Karina has a deeper voice but I choose Cassie’s version and her video shoot is going to be cool because she is back and Improved and FRESH!!!!!

Cassie does it for me. I agree with peeps who say Cassie makes it a lil’ more smooth and sexy. ‘Ol girl Karina just does to much at the end…..the song doesn’t call for all of that. It’s not a Mariah balad LOL

I think that karina’s version was so much better. For the simple fact that Cassie can’t sing and she whispers her songs to get by.

Karina is def a better singer with better range and runs. But Cassie harmony is amazing because her voice is so smooth and soft. Karina’s version is better because she actually had the ability to ad lib, but if she had harmony like cassie it would be amazing.

Cassie’s voice suits it da lyrics she sings, and Karina suits da lyrics she sings coz she has a stronger voice (Cassie is sayin after a year its tym 2 make it official, Karina is sayin im never gonna be unofficial) I like both and i listen 2 both, but Cassie’s is more commericial (less empowering) so i think her’s will b made bigger. . .
i`ve been a Cassie fan since before ME && YOU, and was just put on to Karina a couple months ago. However, I heard Karina`s version first and I loved it. Then I heard Cassie`s. It was okay I guess, she rarely sings and mostly talks in a sensual way. She sounds kinda off beat at first, everything is kinda jumbled. Karina brought more power to the song. I love it =]

Karina Pasian’s was much better. I like the lyrics of the song and she rode that track like a beast. I never cared for Cassie’s vocals much anyways, although she has an okay voice. Karina’s sounded better. Another alternative to the song is to have them sing it together. And have it like a Monica/Brandy thing in the video with them trying for the same guy….both trying to be his official girl. But like I said, Karina murdered that song if you put her up to Cassie. She could probably take ANY Cassie’s songs and murder them all over. lol.

I am so late. However, Cassie was trying too hard in the beginning, so by the time it got to the middle of the song she was reaching and almost breaking. Karina killed her ass a million times over and that’s just the way it is. She sang it perfectly. Climaxed at the right time and everything. Made me love this song.
