♫ Stacy Epps – Floatin’
Say hello to Stacy Epps. When I first heard her, of course the first influence that popped into my mind was Amel Larrieux, of whom I happen to be a big fan of. Stacy, who would never denounce hip hop as her first love, rattles of the names of KRS 1, MC Lyte and Queen Latifah as some of her main influences.
Her first single, “Floatin’” is a mellow, grooving track that has been getting a lot of love as of late. Her album is slated to drop in July, and will be what Stacy calls a “truly independent venture.”
Make sure you guys show Stacy some love and let her know what you think of her music!

sounds good, sounds like something i could get into
i am lovin this track! it’s that neo-soul sound i’ve been missin ever since i left howard univ. she is very pretty too!
Nice!! I’m digging this.
HELLO!
Definitely feeling this right here!!! I’m a neo-soul head so this is what I’ve been missing… I do hear a little influence of Amel Larrieux in her vocals whom I am a fan of as well… I need to go peep her Myspace page to hear some more of her material..
i love it…..it’s fresh and a has a old kinda feel to it, just with an updated sound!!! Hotttt…and she’s cute too!!
nope…i’ll pass!
That’s nice, I like it.
I liked that a whole lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was so smooth and mellow…..plus….we have the same last name….she’s fam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lmao
I’m glad you guys finally did a spotlight on her she has been around in the independent hip hop world since her work on the Madvillany (Madlib and Mf Doom) album
Love this!!
i get the floetry vibe.
lovin it.
i miss this.
music like this never gets any type of play except for VH1 Soul lol
This is nice. I’m definitely feelin it…
nice to see stacy getting love
i remember hearing her on the madvilliany album and loving that track
Ooo this is so refreshing and melodic
This song is tight and needs to get more radio play!
Who is this Omar’s sister……………………………………………………….NEXT.!!
the background vocals reminds me of Bjorks “Oceania”
Nice!
hate the beat
I love it! It’s chill. Stacys stand up! LOL
Like the beat, not the voice so much. It’s grating.
And her flow reminds me of Amel Larrieux, but that’s pretty much it.
Now, I’m going to listen to some other tracks…
i like the song a lot…but the rap was wack.
i love this . smooth melodic tip! i just love originality and just stuff like this
love it! LOVE IT LOVE IT!
its so sombre, soo chill. It reminds me of a nice summer evening, the sun dying down, humidity fills the air but a nice breeze comes along every now and again…chilling on the varandah or in a field..so chill…havent heard a track like this in a hot minute. Feels good man. So fresh. Definitely will be bumping this in my car this summer.
I don’t hear the Amel connection at all,but I’ve been lovin Stacy for a min now. If I’m not mistaken she’s actually the sister of Madlib and Oh No. She sings the hook on Oh’ No’s debut album, The Disrupt.
And Gabbi is the truth too! Don’t sleep on Boobie’s Groove.
damn i like this. i wanna hear the rest of the album now. Even the beat is sick
I like this chick. I do not get the Amel L- comparison other then the sound but not the voice. I love Amel, but I like Stacey so it will be nice to see what else comes out from her.
She does remind me of Amel a little..Once she starts flowin, i think differently.. She’s definitely tight tho..
I’m feeling this song. She has a great look and a different sound…love it!
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. DID I SAY I LOVE IT, OH YEAH I LOVE IT!!!
Nice chill out music.
I luv it! I too Love Amel Larrieux. now i will be heading to her myspace
Hot song. Very nice.
GOODIE GUMDROP…THIS IS MUSICALLY DELICIOUS!! ME.LIKEY. DEFINITELY!!
I LIKE IT…. THEY NEED TO PLAY MORE SONG LIKE THIS ON THE DARN RADIO. INSTEAD OF THOSE SAME 15 DAMN SONGS THEY GOT ON HEAVY ROTATION… LET OTHER ARTIST GET THERE SHINE…. HOWEVER SONG IS HOT…
I like it definetly feeling this one!
I can get with it!
I am definately feeling this song!!!!!!!!! It has a great vibe, and the flo was tight!
I like this. This is the type of song I would add to my “Chill Music” playlist. I hear a hint of Amel, but not much. She reminds me more of Goapele. Her style is dope nontheless. It’s refreshing. I’ll make a mental note to check out more of her music later.
Nope.
very relaxing summery track
i love it!
I guess Im the only person who thought this was wack.
I think it needs more cleaning up and more production value.
Nice!

I Am Anxiously Awaiting the Release of Her Divine Shine!!!
Go Sol Uprise and ShyNe.

Tshanti
I heard this song before on her MySpace page, it’s the shit! I think this was produced by Madlib, the producer who worked with J Dilla. She’s also a hip-hop artist too. You can hear more of her singing if you pick up MadVillain’s CD “Madvillainy.”
her voice sounds familiar (a lil bit of mary j), that pic looks like fefe dobson
i like it alot. The vibe is real chill. Can’t wait to hear more.
I hear a Goapele influence more than Amel’s. Has anybody listened to Amel’s Lovely Standards? She killed those jazz standards.
Love the track sis! This is exactly what Hip Hop needs. Let em keep shining their light on th beautiful sistas representing this culture! Can’t wait for the album to drop. See you on the flipside
I think the track is groovy. By the way what’s your relationship to Omar Epps. Your brother. Well any way sister. I think you are on your way to becoming a big star. Perserverance pays off.
oh, she’s definitely hot, but no relation to Omar Epps, she’s half Asian i do believe. She’s super hot though, can’t wait for the album to drop
