Naturally she is going to sounds like effie white, HELLO SHE GAVE VOICE TO THE PART… Anyhoo,

She has a very Big voice and I certainly will not deny she has more talent than most.

I can see how this would fit a soundtrack.

It a bit much for my taste of songs I like to bump but Wish her nothing but success.

I can see she is doing just fine though and does not need my wishes.

  2. FLYGRYL

I like this song it fits the movie well..

This reminds me of that CLASSIC R&B my momma used to listen to in the late 70′s. Absolutely beautiful vocals. I’ve read all the comments and I just have to wonder where our society is going musically.

Like Steve Harvey said, music back in the day used to leave something to the imagination. Nowadays, we are too used to explicit lyrics and studio-enhanced vocals that we can’t appreciate good music when we hear it…

    Good Job, J Hud!

  5. Its a nice song. I’m just wondering why her label is taking so darn long to put her music out. They need to hurry it up already before she’s not hot anymore

  6. Mz_K

I’m feeling J Hud BUT I’m not feeling the song. Its catchy and something you would catch me singing but that’s about it. And to all the ppl BITING saying its too “dream girl” ish… its because it was MADE FOR A MOVIE. So get off it!

  7. dee dee

I love JHud but this song is not something I would buy. It’s probably perfect for the SITC Movie though. I would like to hear who Jennifer really is, what kind of music she really wants to make, so far, it’s like all show tunes. Maybe that’s what she wants to make though.

  8. I like the song its perfect for the movie. I hope she does well.

  9. MusickidD

  11. sweetie pie

This is not for her album people. It’s for a movie soundtrack. I think the song is very appropriate and she sounds great.

  12. Flygirl

Thanks #71 some people either can’t read or must be unaware that this song is for a MOVIE!!!!!!!!! As far her album this is what I got from another site *ossip:
Jennifer Hudson has recruited India.Arie and Alicia Keys as mentors as she plans to embark on a pop career. The Oscar winner and former American Idol favorite hopes to release her first album after her new film Sex & The City hits cinemas next month (Jun08) and she has turned to two peers for advice. “I didn’t realize the process would be so long. I’m discovering it as I go along. “Alicia Keys was one of the people who talked to me about it. I wanted to make sure it was OK because it’s taking so long. “She told me it took her at least a year to record her album and that’s the process, so don’t worry about it.” And she turned to Arie when she needed a big hit on the album: “Greatest Creation, which Indie.Arie wrote, is where I see myself and where I’d like to see myself, in saying that my greatest creation is me.” Hudson will release the album in September (08), admitting “I haven’t named it yet.”

I think its a very cute song for the sex in the city movie. Since the main character of the movie Carrie is all about style and clothes…I highly doubt that her album will sound like this song. Overall go JHud, I like it.

  14. Marblehead

Beside the fact hat Jhud is on the soundtrack, does any1 realize that frackin NINA SIMONE is on this!?!? Will def. check that out~

  15. BigT

This song is perfect for that soundtrack!! Straight to the top J Hud.

No one wants to admit it, but the songs with peaks and valleys are what miss
    Beyonce should be singing!

  16. SweetDream

    Its hot and spicy

  17. Sam

DREAM GIRLS!!! NO one is fukin with her on the vocals tho! Beyonce,Keyshia Ashanti…even MARY Xtina n Christina…there I said it!! Actually love it TRUE RNB ol skool rnb with great actual meaning and SANGING!!!

  18. PEEPLPAYATTENSHUN

THIS SONG MAKES ME LAUGH *SHRUGS*

NO DIS AT ALL TO JEN, OR THE PRODUCTION! SHE BROUGHT HER VOCALS BUT THE SONG ITSELF REALLY DOES HAVE A MID 1980′S VIBE TO IT, LIKE I REALLY THINK THAT THE SONG WAS ORIGINALLY INTENDED FOR NELL CARTER BUT THEN SHE GOT THE GIG FOR “GIVE ME A BREAK” AND THE SONG GOT TOSSED IN THE VAULT UNTIL…

  19. Lemarac_qt7

Not feeling it….It does go with the movie…………..I guess. Either way i can’t wait to see the movie.

  20. I like the song. It sounds good.

  21. justice

j hud looks nice on that picture

  22. MAMi Magazine

sounds like a Mary Tyler Moore soundtrack to me.. good luck Diva.

  23. realistic

This is grown folk music. Simple as that. It’s fantastik. As far it sounding like dreamgirls, Dreamgirls is the only thing from this time with singing like that, so ya’ll may not know that’s how singing in R&B use to be. Dreamgirls even as a musical was not traditional broadway singing when it came to Effie White. That’s how R&B should sound. Not electronic vocals and breathy voices. It is a soundtrack song. I know this will not be on the album. If it is, it won’t be a single.

  24. CrazyCanuck

No matter what she does we will always HEAR dreamgirls as we were spoiled by it lol. so quit saying shes BROADWAY if thats her voice -do you want her to start “sing rapping” (dear lord no). But, i like the song it suits her.

  25. KNOWN

IT’S A SOUNDTRACK SONG, WRITTEN SPECIFICALLY FOR THE END OF THE FILM TO BE SHOW, TO BE BIG, TO BE THE SONG THAT HAS A HUGE VOICE AND MAKE YOU WATCH WHATEVER OUTTAKES OR CREDITS @ THE END!!

SHE DIDN’T PUT THIS TOGETHER, ISN’T GOING ON HER ALBUM PROBABLY, JUST FOR THIS SHIT, I MEAN DAMN, IF SHE COMES WITH AN R&B UPTEMPO BANGER, SHE MIGHT DO WELL, EVERYONE THOUGHT FANTASIA HAD A BIG VOICE AND COULDN’T SELL WELL, HER CD’S WERE DECENT!

  26. Miss. Tiandez Jones

she sounds great..but ye, its reminiscent of dream girls mos def!

  27. DLS

I DON’T LIKE THIS SONG. SHE SOUNDS A HOT MESS

  28. sonya

I was with Jennifer all the way during American Idol. I knew she had what it takes. I guess I am partical because i am from Chicago also, we stick together. Now the world will see what I have said about her from the start. I’m just setting back and enjoying her jouney. Everyone should support her and definitely but her album.

  29. David

I prefer her to sound Dreamgirlish than Rihannish! Wake up and stop buyng crap! Get the old music style back. Return to greatness America and demonstrate how smart and clever this beautiful country is!
