I think it was a good idea for Nas to change his album title b/c many of us wasn’t keen on the idea of his choice of titles. Although I tried to be open-minded about it at first, but in the end the n-word still carries a bit of a harsh undertone. I respect him for his choice and hope to hear his messages he puts out to the world.

I’m glad Nas isn’t a complete idiot. With the music industry the way it is now, an artist can’t afford to ostracize a demographic they are trying to sell to. Having the original title would have confused and angered many more ppl than it would have inspired. We all witnessed the reaction he and Kelis got at the Grammy awards this year when they showed up with the “N” word shirts. Though I applaud him for trying to stir up thought and get a reaction out of listeners, he might have gone a little too far with it, and ultimately, had he stuck with the title, cd sales would have suffered

I’m rooting for Foxy…all the good female mc’s have left the building and have ceased to bring it (ie. Trina, Eve, Kim, and of course we all know what is going on with Remy). Foxy might end up being the last one standing (other than Missy) if she plays her cards right and strikes while the iron is hot

I feel sorta bad for Foxy Brown. Although, I think she really needs to step it up, she can’t do it alone! She needs better promotion, and a change in her creative approach. She’s been posing half nude, in front of cars, with an angry face for years. I think its time to change!

I really wonder why Nas decided to change the name. I love Nas because he’s one of tthe few rappers in the game that actually has something to say, plus he’s a legend. I will support him regardless of the name switch but I wonder what prompted him to do so. I love Ne-Yo! He isn’t the sexiest but he’s talented. I’m also loving these celebrities and their blogs. It’s a dope idea! I never was a Foxy Brown fan so I wasn’t counting down the days til her new album came out. I wasn’t really impressed w/ J.Hud’s “Spotlight” I just wasn’t. Hopefully she releases something hotter.

NasNas people must have put the heat on him. Think about the t-shirts that would say n*gger. What if a white boy was wearing it? How would that make any black person feel. He needs to be mature in the words he choses and how to express himself. Many people outside of the US can make light of the word.

While I thought the name of the album was a bit too controversial, I would have more respect for Nas if he stood up against the system and kept the title. Foxy and Nas are my favorite female and male hip-hop artists. It seems like my favorites always have so adversities to triumph over. No matter what happens with these two, Ima always stay down for them. I do think that they will be successful again when its over and done with.

I looove Spotlight but I don’t think it should be the first single, the first single shouldn’t just be good it should be amazing! I certainly hope the album has better songs than that (even though I really like it).

i heard foxy’s album for the first time yesterday and its a mess from start to finish, plus they added songs from her first album that got shelved “Ill Na Na 2: The Fever” (2003)

I am so glad that they changed the title to Nas’ album. I am sure that the general point he was trying to make can still be made without such a vulgar title. Nas you could have done a lot of damage with that title and I can almost guarantee that it would not have been good. I have been a long time admirer of your music and style, but I totally disagreed with the latest project. Not what you were trying to do, but how you were doing it.

WOW #51 needs to calm the f down! Nas was trying to do something good for the community, to lessen the blow that the word usually has, to desensitize it in a sense i guess.
