Since there was a prenup, I dont really think Mariah is stupid. This chick has a great career, millions of fans, and is LOADED and will continue to be after Nick. As far as them getting married so fast, in this day an age, I dont blame them because you can be together 5 years and then decide to get married and the marriage still ends. Your taking a risk with marriage no matter how long you’ve been together or not been together. What matters most is the quality of the relationship not just the duration. Maybe they really have gotten to know eachother very well in the past 6 weeks and have held nothing back and fell in love.

I have a friend who’s parents were married for 30 years before they died and they got married just as fast after meeting eachother. If you love that person and are truly committed, it can work. I think if the woman puts the mans needs ahead of her own and the man puts the womans needs ahead of her own, everyone’s needs get met. Its not that hard. Just do away with the selfishness. I cant believe some people are saying ” I give it 6 months” etc. Marriage is a Godly union and unless there is alot of cheating or abuse, I would never speak that negativity over any marriage.

Why would you trust your life to someone you’ve know for such a short time. That first 6 mos. to a year is the romantic stage. You are getting to know someone, their likes, dislikes, and going through seasons of trials with that person. You want to know how they are going to be during the good and bad times. How can you base a long-term relationship on such a short time? How can you truly KNOW someone. Hell, they might be a serial killer. Yes, there are people who’ve know people for years and still get divorced. Yes, you can know someone for ages and still be surprised because nothing is guaranteed, however, your chances of failure are much greater when you don’t know the person you are supposed to be committing your life too. II know that a long marriage doesn’t nessacarily mean a good marriage but the example I gave about my best friends marriage, well they had a fantastic marriage. They loved eachother more than life. He died exactly a year after she did and some might would say that he died of a broken heart. I just dont think one should compare their relationship to anyone else’s because every relationship is different because every person is different and because 6 weeks might be too fast for some or even most, it doesnt automatically mean it’s too fast for them. I try to look at things from a spirtual perspective so I think its possible that this was already meant to be by God for a purpose. I dont think because she’s pushin 40 that she’s desperate. This is Mariah Carey! She can get any man she wants. Regardless if they got married too fast or not (only they know that and only GOD knows that), I wish them a long lasting loving marriage.
