To my understanding a journalist gave Kanye’s performance a B+ (not sure waht city). Kanye told him don’t ever come back to another one of his shows. West is too much :). I would love to see him but I was out of the loop for this concert dates. Hopefully next time around.

i loved the concert when it was here last week! good times good times!

ppl didn’t belive me when i said that kanye would kill the stage for 1.5 hours by him self! no dancers, no background, no dj. nothin.. just kanye! kanye gives the best live show, next to the roots. i loved the ENTIRE show. i swear lupe should’ve been kanye’s opener, not riri. but i digress! this was the 2nd show that ive seen, and not only well worth the money, but well worth the wait! i cant wait for the next cd (im feelin somethin hot with lupe) and the next tour. the show was fantastic (riri couldve tried a tad harder, but it was aiight). lupe, n.e.r.d. and kanye gave fantastic shows. if you don’t already have tickets, you’re missing out!

That show was the SHIT when I saw it back in Sacramento, Ca! I had to travel to Sacramento because the damn San Jose, Ca show sold out before it even went on sell to the public. It was worth it. We really enjoyed ALL the performances! My dude was talking about going to see him again when he comes back to San Jose in June. That’s how good it was.

Man, you just made me want to go to this concert even more! Thanks for making me feel like I was there. I hear Lupe gives a great show and Kanye kills it.

Anyway, the concert was dope though. I’m not going to rock a damn gown to a 4+ hour concert. It wasn’t that serious! When you try hard, that’s when you die hard.

I went to this concert in Tampa and he did in fact kill it. I loved the show. It was an outside show and it was perfect. I agree, Lupe-great!, NERD-different. I am not a true fan of rock music, but they sure had a damn good following at the Amphitheater. Also, Rihanna is really cute in person, not like I met her, but she is pretty from the big screen that I saw her on and looking at her on stage. She had a decent performance. She is not a true entertainer, but she sounded a lot better than I expected her to. Now to the King of Performers. Kanye killed it. He was amazing. No hype man, just him, his heart and soul on the stage. My only regret is that I wasn’t closer. He did an amazing show and performed for a full 1 1/2 hours. Great show, please catch it if its in a town near you.

i went to the concert last sunday in atlanta and the concert was dope as hell!! best concert i have ever been too! im serious! anyone who wasnt a fan of anyone def became a fan after that crazy ass concert! The concert started around 7:30 and wasnt over till like 12! if u havent seen it yet, make sure yall peep it out! im telling you… youtube does no justice! kanye did his thing, acting and all!

I agree that you have had to be there to experience the level of art, love , and excellence, he picked the most dedicated people to tour with him. They complimented him well. I imagine this is what I would have experienced going to a MJ concert.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kanye in 2002 when his first single dropped. He said some crazy shit to me lol but he was very nice and MAD cool. Don and my girl had the same birthday’s.. we chatted for a minute on south beach and it was too cute. Kanye is the man, many blessings to him and his PHENOMENAL WORK!

She said she lay awake at night scratching her skin when she heard they were coming to Toronto. Them tickets sold out by 6pm the same day they were posted. The set layout, the creativity, the performance, and the surprises were all UNBELIEVABLE. John Legend showed up to the Tampa show. I have never witnessed anyone perform with so much passion in my life. I would pay any amount of money to see his show live again! I suggest if it’s in your area to check it out.

Angel, i wish you could played him in a game of connect four, but im super jealous. I was mad with kanye for not allowing cameras, i really wanted atleast one good picture if i couldnt meet him. The concert was amazing. I went to the show in Atlanta. I wish he could come back for a second show. Quincy Jones was there. Chris Brown Bow Wow and Musiq rocked it on staged with NERD. I loved everyone’s performance. Kayne was the best. He is a very talented person.

I went to the concert in Dallas Texas where I am located and it was something to remember… Kanye’s performance was off the chain!!! I was trippen at first because it took him forever to get on stage and perform but the wait was worth it because he showed out! I never knew he was so talented and for that to be my first concert of his to attend I was very excited to be there. Rhianna was straight and so was N.E.R.D, but Lupe Fiasco wrecked his perfomance too though with the chick he had performing with him she did her thing. It was worth requesting off that day!!!

Wow all these reviews makes me really wanna purchase those tickets now. Me and some friends were thinking about going but one question though, how long is Rihanna’s performance?? I honestly wont go if her performance is longer that 15 minutes. She can never perform. she just stands there screeching into a microphone in her hands so I wont be listening to that for long at all. i went to the concert in the west coast, let me say the ticket cost me 100.00 and it was the probably the best thing i have ever bought myself. this concert was sooooooooooooooo dope and you felt sooo hyped up even after you went home. 2 days later i was still on cloud 9 and dancing and singing like i never left it.

Ok, BELIEVE i am one of the biggest Kanye West fan. After i heard about the B+ he was given, and the way he back lashed i just knew he was going to be OUTSTANDING. The fact of the matter is, i would have given him a B+ to. Me, my sister and my bestfriend travled from New Orleans, LA to ATL over the weekend to see Kanye West and i must say i would NOT go see him again. It was basically Kanye on a stage for 2 straight hours with no one else, nothing else but his space ship. He did not really “connect” with the audience bc the way his actual performance was, it was based like he was in a movie. It was good, but not great. Now dont get me wrong, i dont regret going to see him, i had an awsome time in ATL, but i’ll say i wouldnt go see him again if given the oppurtunity. Pharrell was AWSOME, he had me more hype then Kanye. Rhianna was terrible. The girl was stiff, she cant dance AT ALL. I will say she doesnt sound bad in person, i thought she would have, but she really doesnt. And she is like said above, VERY pretty in person.

But I thought it was just me, so i didnt say anything at 1st. Like i know im going to get alot of backlash for this comment already. But as we were walking out of the Arena, alot of other ppl were not satisfied either. After about 45 mins, you kind of get tired of watching him run around on stage dancing and punching and talking to the “SpaceShip” u wanna be like talk to US Kanye! My husband and i had the pleasure of seeing this concert in Atlanta, on 05/09/08 and by far this was one if not the HOTTEST concerts i’ve ever been to!!! I must agree w/angel in re: to all of the performers, KANYE rocked!!!!! i sooo enjoyed every bit of it. plus he had mad support in the audience Quincy Jones, Mary J, and so forth was even in the house! it was clear this tour was for fans and people who love good music! the atmosphere set the tone,all walks of life was there to get the experience of the GLOW in the Dark Tour and i loved it!!! money well spent!!!

I was there as well and I agree with everything you said Angel, loved the show minus Rihanna. I really wanted her to do well so I could say I was just hating but I couldn’t . Wish he would have had someone else but other than that it was worth every penny

what trips me out is how mad people want to ask why people are worshipping Aaliyah in the other post (RIP babygirl), and niggas in this post act like Kanye West is God. Yall act like he is the second coming of Christ. I am a fan of his music..but don’t get it twisted: anybody can sample classic music: Diddy was doing way before he did. Cuz he’s from the Chi and can flow spoken-word like with rap music..Nas been doing that. I like Kanye…but he ain’t nothing to be trippin over. Geesh.

going to a concert 101 wear comfortable clothes if its a hip hop rap one great time to wear something fun donts dont dress in heels or like your going to a club wwith a lot of makeup by the end of the night you will be most likely be limping to your car which is far away most likely and you will look like you just been worhing a street corner lol see it all the time lol

Anywho, I know it was dope and it looks like my girl had a lot of fun backstage with Kanye. I envy you lol. But ye, Kanye no doubt had to rip it!! NERD and Lupe too, i know killed it! UGHHHHH i still dont understand how that girl known as rihanna fits into the tour, but i imagined her performance was garbage and from what i hear it was. SOOOOOO on another note, love you kanye!!

Angel I know you probably don’t want to spoil it for other concert goers but you didn’t even explain the concept behind Kanye’s stage show. You didn’t say if his catalogue of albums got equal play (since it was such a long set) or whether it was predominantly from (x) album. What about the sequence of songs that really brought the concert to its zenith and then the ones that maybe simmered it down and had ppl in a more contemplative/reflective mindset?
What about talking to some of the tech ppl and stagehands to find out how that amazing (I’m guessin it was) stage/set was created.
You used a lot of hype words to get ppl juiced but you mainly described how the concert made you feel, which is fine , but who wouldn’t feel amped seeing their fave artist. As a regular fan and not a diehard fan of Kanye your review still leaves me on the fence and unsure of what to tangibly expect besides the emotional “dopeness”.

i just really feel like someone, should look at the pics i took at the charlotte concert, only cause , i took like 120 pics, and kept gettng threatened by security, that cameras are not allowed and “the flash will harm rihanna” wtf is that vrap!

I totally agree. The show was too good for words. I saw it last weekend when it was here in Atlanta. LOVED IT. Kanye bared his soul.
