Now I understand why Beyonce has been wearing so much Chanel lately, and I’m glad to see Jill doing her thing. Vivica will hopefully find a stylist for her damn self, because she is not the most fashionable actress out there, but I’m glad to see Viv making that paper!!!!

So what the hell is wrong with the Dereon poster, I think that is adorable as long as the lil girls aint walkin around like they grown. What the hell is the problem! I mean Really!!

@3, 8 Well they are looking grown in the ads… In the ad they have these little girls with TONS of makeup, stilleto boots, and too much glitz. They look like the little girls in pageants made to look like mini adults. Completely inappropriate. She should of had it like Kimora does with her kids line. Its stylish but not over the top.

Jill is not the first to tap into this market. I wear Fantasie and they are fabulous. If Jill was wearing two bras it was because she was not wearing the right size or brand. I may check out her bras, but I’m very happy with Fantasie and don’t love the idea of any extra straps across my back. But if folks find relief with her bra, good, because I see tons of women wearing ill-fitting and ugly bras. It’s getting the right size that is important and many of us are wearing bras that are just too small.

That billboard with beyonce and solange is not hot…sorry…if you’ve seen the ad campaigns other celebs have done, this one makes you think it might be the work of an eager fan and his photoshop. The Chanel thing sounds interesting, on another note… well, because I seriously wonder what she might be doing for them when the mention of the “House of Dereon” evokes laughter. Hmmmm, maybe they’re using her in their campaigns…but then wouldn’t she have been at the unveiling of the latest line?
I wonder what movie Jill will do next? I saw her in this indie flick and she isn’t even close to a bad actress. I think because her natural voice is so mellifluous.

The only reason that there is the backlash because people wanted to divert issue from Miley Cyrus who doesn’t even compare. This ad was out a while back, and it only came under fire because of Cyrus’ half-naked Vanity Fair cover. Everyone really needs to stop doing this to B. If anything, the ad is reminiscent of playing dress-up. Ladies and maybe some fellas, how many times did you play dress up and put on your mom’s makeup and pretend to wear her heels. The models are also multi-ethnic.Also, guessing by the props used, they are pretending to be rockstars.The clothes don’t have messages scrolled across their chests or butts and you don’t have to buy them.

i agree #9..im always mad when i go into stores and the only bras they have for larger size women are just solid black,white,or beige…but for smaller sizes,they have the nice prints and numerous colors….

Oh and the Deron Kids Ad… Just wrong, I remember saying that when I first saw it. I didn’t even want to look at it. I like Kimoras ads or rocawear kids ads. They look natural, fresh and cool. I know little girls play dress up but that was just wrong. I always think about child molesters when I see little girls in too much make up and grown up clothing. People need to realize children are being preyed on. Do they know how many Americans go to foreign countries to have sex with kids. Its sad. Not sure if it was Beyonce who made that choice for the kids but if it was then she was wrong and should change it….

Not true…she was under scrutiny well before the Miley ad. The thing with the ad is fashion insiders don’t take her clothing line seriously so it already carries a negative connotation…so when it turned out that the new ad was actually sensational in itself, there was nothing left for “serious” journalists/outlets to do but address it. In other words, it’s either this or nothing when it comes to that clothing line. Either it’s going to be typically shitty and not even come close to the radar or it’s going to be shitty in a remotely serious way and come under scrutiny for that.

um, the time to have scrutinized the ad was 6 MONTHS ago. people so desperately want her to go away then when she finally does, they pull up old crap because they miss her. if the ad is that bad, then it’s time people go after pagent girls

It’s quite the controversial topic in this country. And I’m sure Beyonce saw nothing wrong with it because she, herself, was a pageant kid and every bit as made up and over as the girls were in her ad. And, because of that, I think they should have left her alone. She’s tacky and bleak…sure, she’s going to think the line should be an exact facsimile of the adult line but in smaller sizes. I’m happy for Bey and Sol but I don’t like this pic. You can tell they really put some photoshop in it to tweak their faces. If you are familiar with intense photo editing then you know what I mean to make them more acceptable by the company’s buyers. Even though they are famous many investors are still not very keen about African American women having power. Even in the new age.

Congrats to Beyonce and Solonge, and I have never seen people over react to an ad like this it’s ridiculous. The girls in the ad are covered from head to toe with clothing and accessories. The way people are talking you would think they had the little girls in bathing suit looking attire bent over something, it’s just silly. The ads may be alittle over the top with the make up and heels the one girl has on, which look like there too big for her so I’m guessing they were going for a playing dress up theme, but all this about it being overly sexual is just pure bullshit. People really are looking to be offended and to find something negative to say about a black woman achieving success. Rock on Ms. Knowles.
