♫ HOT OR NOT: CIARA’S “HIGH PRICE”

Ciara has been working on her third studio album, Fantasy Ride (out in early September), and revealed that “High Price” was slated to be the first single. The album is slated to have a more “crunk&B” sound to it and although there is not a full version out, I just wanted to post a little snippet so you guys could take a gander and see how you feel about the new vocal direction that Ciara is chosing to take. The chorus seems to be using some sort of vocal effect which has been prevalent in music as of late, but on the verses, Ciara’s going for a more “opera-inspired” sound. Color me surprised.

i definitely am not a hater and i do appreciate good music…but………this song is not too good….at first i was a fan of ciara’s, but more and more it’s seeming like she’s what many call a “manufactured artist.” Not too good, not too bad, but not too special either. song’s kinda cluttered…i honestly don’t like it. this will make the charts tho…umm won’t dominate. it’ll do ok though.

I can’t believe people are freaking out because it’s different. Actually, I can because the mainstream public is so fucking small-minded they can’t take in what she’s actually doing. This is not crunk n b, this is hiphopera. The way she is singing is operatic and you dumbfucks are so “OPERA IS BAAAD” you can’t tell what she is doing takes skill and a damn good amount of it.
Start supporting this and not the shit that’s being played on the radio.

I dont’t care what anybody says, all Ciara does is make great songs. I can not wait for this CD! I’m buying the whole album on itunes. I knew shoe had to be making a new CD because she’s be gone for awhile and then suddenly came into Nelly’s single. I can’t wait to see her video too because she’s the best dancer in the world and I’d kill to be one of her back up dancers. I love you Ciara and keep the evolution of music going!
