I know enough about the show to know they were under scrutiny for not having enough flavor on there. Why do you think Blair and others started to be sprinkled about on that show? And you’re contradicting yourself - either they were for “diversity” or they were for their “intended audience”. You must not know about the show your praising and trying to defend - IN VAIN. You can’t even defend yourself because my original post stated nothing about capturing a “black audience” it spoke of “hyping the movie for sales” - what a schmuck you are. The “blackness” came from them picking J.Hud when they could’ve picked better. Everything else you posted to defend your lame comment is moot because you’re running off to the left when my convo is to the right. Again, what a schmuck you are. And to say “I said” J.Hud is the fall of black Hollywood is another wrong lame comment. I spoke of black Hollywood losing in general and that they can only get movies if being produced by blacks. Reading is fundamental - you should try it sometimes and take your head out of your ass while watching your iconic SITC.

If they would’ve picked Beyonce, Alicia or anyone else you named that I didn’t (I said Megan Goode who’s a damn good actress that happens to be beautiful and sexy), it would’ve been a better look than having J.Hud. Blair Underwood was there to offer another sort of man, meaning men appear in Sex AND (AND, AND, AND…okay?) the City like big booty girls appear in rap videos. They are sex objects… His character was not unlike a new shoe or bag for the girls… It had nothing at all to do with black people. Nothing.
And, as for the “intended audience”…wow, did you ever get this tangled up, but anyway…My point in saying that was they weren’t lacking in any areas that mattered to them when it came to ratings/an audience. They anticipated their audience anyway, since the show was adapted from a book.

If Jennifer was give the part in the movie because she won an Oscar it’s no different than Sarah Jessica Parker’s being put front and center as exec producer as a way of perpetuating the most popular character, i.e. lifeblood of the show. All I have to say is that J.Hud makes everyone sit down!!!!!! She really has been lookin’ flyy, not ol’lady at all!! She is dressin the part and looking her age and accepting her size! Only for the hype and the sales which of course worked with the sheltered audience that it’s attracted. It would’ve been more attractive if it had put some real flavor in that part. Next time they should put their hype on a better story line to make it worthwhile and that way in years to come it’s not collecting dust on the back of DVD shelves.
