The first images from the film Mama I Wanna Sing starring Ciara, were released recently. The movie, based off the popular Black off-Broadway musical, tells the story of a preacher’s daughter who rises from the church choir to international pop superstardom.
The film also stars Lynn Whitfield, Patti LaBelle, Juanita Bynum, and Hill Harper. Check out the teaser trailer here and see more images over at Sincerely Ciara. The movie is expected to hit limited theaters in October of this year.

Also releasing May 13th is the play based film A Good Man Is Hard To Find. The film stars Darrin Dewitt Henson, Golden Brooks, Hill Harper, Mel Jackson, and Deborah Cox:
A Good Man Is Hard to Find is the story of three women who each undergo romantic crises that challenge their personal and spiritual relationships. Each must overcome personal demons, resist temptations and withstand bad decisions so they can learn how to find and hold on to… a good man.
This should be INTERESTING… I’ve seen the stage play and the main character has power house vocals… I love CiCi but she’s no powerhouse vocalist… Maybe she’ll surprise us… Guess I’ll support!

When they were down in louisiana filing this movie, my best friend got a chance to work on set with Ciara and said she is extremley nice. I don’t understand why people hate on that girl??? She’s got celeb appeal.

I’m in this movie!!!! Yay!! It’s about time they found a release date, well time frame. Ciara actually wasn’t all that bad, either. There is another girl in the movie, I think her mama wrote the stage play, who’s vocals were AMAZING. Can’t wait to see the finished production. Kim Porter is in it also. She was real down to earth!
