NEWS ROUND UP: COSBY WANTS ACTION / NATION’S LEADING DOCTORS / KILPATRICK NEWS
Friday, May 2, 2008

At a conference of community associations on Thursday, Bill Cosby urged the audience to stand up and confront the ills facing black Americans and “stop looking for somebody to blame.”
Speaking about the responsibilities of families in raising children, Cosby characterized his words as “blunt, but not harsh.”
“I haven’t seen the demonstrations saying, ‘I’m not allowing my children to listen to this,’” he said at the conference, hosted by Family Intervention Services and Newark Now, an organization formed by Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker. “It’s killing us. We’re not talking about it, and we’re not beating it down,” referring to radio stations that play music he called “pro-murder and anti-women”.
Booker called Cosby “a critical voice right now in the American context” and praised his willingness to speak out on issues without bowing to political correctness:
“This is a time for candor — we can’t beat around the bush,” Booker said. “We’ve got large percentages of our population that are underachieving. He’s speaking to the heart of the matter, and he speaks to the realities of what a lot of folks are experiencing.”
Cosby called his critics “intellectual panhandlers” who enable destructive behavior by staying silent or blaming racism.
“You’ve got these idiots who’ve got these degrees and some of them are ordained ministers and they say, ‘Bill, you’re picking on the poor,’” he said. He then drew laughs by adding, “Well, so did Jesus then. Jesus was always telling someone, `Go ye.’ Jesus was always telling people to go somewhere. And `don’t do this again or don’t do that again.’”
NATION’S LEADING DOCTORS
In the May issue of Black Enterprise, “America’s Leading Doctors” names 140 top-notch physicians responsible for saving millions of lives through the revolutionary treatment of diseases, from cancer and diabetes to heart attacks and HIV/AIDS. Many of these doctors have been responsible for major medical breakthroughs and have participated in the creation of drugs that have vastly improved the quality of life for patients.
“A consistent objective of Black Enterprise is to communicate that without investing in the quality of our health and that of our families and communities, it is all but impossible to create sustainable, multigenerational wealth,” said Founder and Publisher Earl G. Graves Sr.
He added:
“The life of my father was cut short at the age of 46 by a heart condition that was likely both preventable and treatable. The exceptional black physicians we highlight uniquely understand the medical issues that confront African Americans. Their expertise makes them an essential part of the solution to the healthcare crisis facing black Americans and our entire nation.”
KILPATRICK NEWS

Detroit City Council members may be one step closer to ousting mayor Kwame Kilpatrick with the release of a legal brief containing excerpts of more than 100 text messages sent between the married mayor and his now-divorced former chief of staff, Christine Beatty.
The messages reveal Kilpatrick and Beatty repeatedly declared their love, discussed liaisons and marriage and even plotted to get rid of police officers whose investigations threatened to expose their affair in late 2002 and 2003.
“I don’t think it’s a death blow, but it’s another blow to his credibility,” said council President Kenneth Cockrel Jr. “It pretty clearly suggests that the mayor and his chief of staff were running the Police Department and not the police chief. That’s scary.”
Kilpatrick, charged with perjury and other felonies for denying the affair and the dismissal of officers under oath during last year’s police lawsuit, called the messages a “regurgitation of old news” while speaking to reporters Tuesday night. “I don’t think this was a smoking gun that everyone thought it would be,” he said.
His attorney, James C. Thomas, said the messages were “cut and pasted” and illegally obtained. “Give him is day in court. You have already convicted him by putting it in The Detroit News.” Thomas, however, declined to cite a passage that is false.
City Council members received the document after a judge ordered its release Tuesday morning. Council President Ken Cockrel Jr. said “going to the governor may be something” the council may consider. But he vowed to abstain from future votes about the mayor because he would assume the post until a special election if Kilpatrick is removed from office.
“I hesitate to speculate where this is all going to end up,” Cockrel said.

And what happens to the bad ones that we ignore? They become criminals, that doesn’t solve the problem, you actually run away from the problem. And who cares how the white people look at us? We should be worried about how we look to our family. I think people use this phrase “quit worrying so much about how we look to white people” to escape the truth about our behaviors. We need a lot of self respect, first before we start asking for respect. And may I add, your Idea sucks. Why should you knock someone else up for a post like this

………………….I am from Detroit and I can honestly say Kilpatrick is an excellent speaker. However, he should have been smart enough to realize whatever is done in the dark will come to light. I also feel he gets alot of credit for things that he really did not do, e.g, Revitilizing Downtown Detroit. Mayor Dennis Archer got the ball rolling on most of those projects while in office, and Kwame just came in and finished the deal, and taking all the credit.

Maybe you dont understand sarcasam about me knocking somebody out so I’ll pass on that. But I dont know if you have noticed but everytime I get on the internet, they’re is a million and one reports about black people being less than just so people can be dumb enough to come in and argue about what black people should be doing. There is a ‘report’ out right now about 50% of black children cant swim, in comparison to white children. Most elementary public schools dont have swimming pools so where are they getting this info from, its subliminal and you dont even realize what is happening. If Bill was serious about helping black youth he would at schools talking to children asking what could he do to help them stay in school…

Mr. Bill Cosby..what can i say. Although he does point out very very good points about the need for more responsibility in the black community. I like others really disagree with the medium that he is using for this message. Last i heard..Mr. Cosby gives plenty of money to Spelman College where his daughters attended but what about Clark Atlanta (who almost lost their accredidation) and Morris Brown (who did lose it). All he talks about is poor black people from the hood and saying that all of them aren’t doing anything. I know plenty of people that i went to college with who are from the ghetto and graduated from college. Many of them have great jobs and some are going to grad school. I feel it’s not fair to the many black men and women such as myself who are working towards change and are trying to better ourselves. I think he should put his money into better things such as after school programs for children in the hood, breakfast programs for kids who go hungry in the morning cuz their parents don’t have enough money. How about more scholarships at not just HBCU’s but other colleges for black students. I along with many of my friends had to work 2-3 jobs while going to school full-time. He needs to stop talking about it and BE About IT. And we also all need to do our part to better ourselves, our children and our neighbors children. Change starts now and it starts with us. He does have a point blaming the white man for all our problems had done us no good.

“The Fake Jews, are still talking about what the Nazi’s done to them; why isn’t the calling the race card? but if Blacks starting talking it’s using the race card? Get the fuck outta here.”
The Jews are the richest ethnic minority in this country even after the Nazis slaughtered millions of them and left them with nothing 60 years ago . Why? They capitalized on their struggle by teaching their kids that ignorance and “under” achievement are unacceptable. They take pride in their culture, support their own businesses, build wealth within their families, obey the law, and absolutely do not tolerate any type of bigotry against them. Their mantra is “Never Again.” Don’t hate on the Jews because they achieved as a people what we haven’t.

I agree with Mr. Cosby! I think because parents are younger they forget to teach the lessons their parents were taught!! When we fail, we can’t continue to fault the white man, how long are we going to hold on to the crutch of oppression, to do so would give credibility to ass holes like Pat Buchanan and his kind. When parents do their job the result is what’s on the cover of the Black Enterprise issue!! There is absolutely nothing wrong for wanting your child to be the next LeBron or Jay Z, but amazing would it be to nurture the mind of the next Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Garnder, Sidney Poitier

@45, the white race is not in a state of disarray like ours. i read the other day, that only 10 or 15 % black male race attends college. Large number in jail, and only a small percentage finish high school. Bill Cosby does right to address the state of African America. Perhaps he is a little bitter because his son was the victim of violence, I think we all would be bitter. There is no sugar coating this situation, the truth hurts. Black folks are causing their own injustices. Young educators in these school systems know exactly what I am speaking about, we invent our own obstacles in life.
Kwame needs to dissolve into the air, go away and never resurface. We all make mistakes and falter, but this man believes he is so deserving of his office. Lesson Learned: NEVER PISS ON GOD”S BLESSINGS.
I saw the Black Enterprise article featuring top MDs. However, I felt it would have better served the public by categorizing the MDs according to location. Why would I travel to Beverly Hills to see plastic surgeon when I reside in the south east? So group them not only by specialty but also by locale. Or did I miss something.

Exactly. The only thing is it was a easier for them to do so cause their predicament didn’t last for 400 years, so the consequences weren’t as deep as the black community. But I see what you mean, it’s time to quit complaining waiting for things to happen. Back then when we complained we also took action, now we just wait for things to happen. I don’t have time for this, I fight for my goals and thrive to be a great person. Stop being obsessed with BeeJay and their wedding, stop relying on SO CALLED leaders that don’t represent us but are paid by the gubment (Al and Jessie) and BE A LEADER yourself. Imagine a community where each of us are leaders, that’s what most of the Jews are and that’s why ppl respect them.

Folks, PLEASE LISTEN TO BILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are at risk of becoming extinct before the beginning of the next century. People like Revs. Wright, Sharpton, Jackson, et al, don’t have our best interest at heart.
They are egomaniac who are about sustaining themselves and maintaining their stature. This is what’s happening to our community, whomever’s you want to blame we are ultimately responsible: AIDS amongst our women is the fastest growing number (brothers coming out of prison infecting them); dropout rate nationwide is 50+%; gang murders rampant in every major city(Chicago’s in the middle of a murder epidemic right now); Crack addiction, alcoholism, blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, domestic violence and lastly, we are 10-12% of the U.S. population, but 37% of the prison population.
Many of our so-called elected officials get in office, and say fuck us(Kwame giving millions of dollars from a broke city like Detroit, to coverup his infidelities.).
Rev. Wright puts on a good show, but we are some angry folks, with no positive direction for that anger. We don’t need the Wright’s to remind us of why we’re angry, we need solutions. Cosby’s telling us right, cut the bullshit blame game. It’s just an excuse to do nothing.

I see so many “i agree” & “he’s right”, but do you all know that he is also talking about you ppl too?? I for one resent this man running off at the mouth about poor ppl this, single mother’s that. I am a single mother that works 2 jobs and i’m majoring in business, i resent this man belittling single mothers! Until Mr. cosby get off his damn ass and DO SOMETHING to help “those black ppl” instead of just running off at the mouth on predominantly white shows in front of a predominantly white audience then maybe i’ll give him a little respect. @ Seriously : The man gives back and travels the whole country to talk to black people, everywhere including in schools and in the churches. There are VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE.
@ whoever says “we shouldn’t worry what whites think” : True. However, we are bound to coexist with all other communities (so that includes whites) so we should respect ourselves and each other (wich implies worrying about what image we give to the world) and THEN demand respect. I’m not talking about kissing their feet cause that wouldn’t be self-respect. We need to get it together for ourselves first yes, but also for the sake of our coexistence with the rest of the world.

Bill needs to shut his old ass up! And I mean that in the most respectful way possible. Fortunately, majority of Black People are not mystified like he is. Do we have Black People, like in any other race or ethnic group, who are misled and self-destructive? Absolutely! But no one can sit there and tell me this society is not designed to hold Black People down. Look at affirmative action. Just on the basic fact alone that they have to implement a clause like affirmative action that allows a small fraction of minority group to compete with whites in the job market, screams volume that something is wrong.
And instead of blaming the right group of people they rather blame Black People. It is like blaming a girl who was raped, saying “well you asked for it”. They blame black art forms and everything else that we create as means of escape in order to hold our sanity.
Rap music is just a mirror that reflects what is going on in inner city communities. If you look in a mirror and you don’t like what you, breaking the mirror will not fixed the unpleasant image. You have to fixed the source of the reflection - YOU. That is what America is trying to do, rap music is reflecting the dirty realities of America. So whites in power and Uncle Tom Negroes, like Mr. Cosby is trying to break the mirror as oppose to fixing the cause. And as far as the calling our women bitches and ho’s, I am not for that. But those words did not shoot Sean Bell 50 times rap music did not kill Amadou Daillo or Timothy Stansbury .
See, Bill does not want to address the real problems, the inequalities in the justice system and in our basic human rights. That is what I call “blind optimism”. If we don’t pay it any attention, try to forget about, it just might go away. See how far that has gotten us?

“stop looking for somebody to blame.” - Bill Cosby
So how about Bill start practicing what he preaches. He talks as if black people are mindless idiots who only do what the music says. America is founded on materialism everyday there is a comercial about ipods or candy or prescription drugs aimed at americans and especially the youth of america. I live in cali and I am 27 years old so I was around before “gangsta rap” came out and guess what… the crime rate droped after the music came, crack sells dropped after the so called “gangsta rap” came out. I listened to Snoop and Dre and Ice Cube etc. everyday since I could remember and I’m a college educated black man merried to a college educated black women. Our parents raised us not music not movies not The Cosby show. Me and my wife mentor 3 kids that don’t have parents pulling for them so we pull for them, we encourage them, we lead by example, so everyone who says Cosby is right, get off your ass and reach out to a kid or teenager that needs some positive guidance. Be a big brother or big Sister. Get on your job and help these kids !!!!

The blacks that don’t like what Bill said are the ones that like where we are as a people. Yes there is racism(duh). He never said that there wasn’t, but it’s time now to overcome that by taking care of ourselves. Music, i don’t care what type it is has an effect on people. Some like to say,”I only listen to the music”, but while your just listening to the music the words are getting into your head and into your spirit.Get an education. If you get an education you will be able to enduce change! If you can’t do that then start reading. Educate yourself that way. That is the only way society will take you seroiusly. The truth always hurts. Not all of us once was “America’s favorite dad!”

Apprarently None of you who disagree with Mr. Cosby has heard him speak. Actually heard his whole speech and not just parts of it.
And by the way he has been speaking for over 20 years now, I do the math because I have been out of high school for going on 10 years and I heard him in my 10th grade year.
I sorry but he is right on almost all points, some points I don’t agree with beacuse it is a generational gap between us by honestly this man has done alot for our community, given money and his time. More than these other so called black leaders who only majically appear when the situation is right.
You guys who think it is everyone elses fault just don’t get it. Yes racisim exsist, but does racisim make us murder each other, Does racisim make our kids behave the way they do. Does racisim provent you who talk about the problem from going into the community and be proactive in the solution no.
We are not united and together as a group of people period. How are we going to tackle other issues facing us from other people if we can’t even tackle the issues that we have within our own community.
We just don’t want to be held accountable for the part that we play in our own demise.

for one bill cosby is full of shit. yes he had some valid points that i agree with and kilpatrick did screw himself. as for obama, his pastor just said what alot of black people have been saying for years that aids is a man made disease to kill off blacks. the other things he said, some were also things black people have been saying for yerars. so we need to lighten up. the only reason why it is such a travesty is because obama is running for president and this man happens to be his pastor. his pastor can not speak for him so if anyone takes heed to what obama’s pastor says and uses that to determain if they want obama as president, then that makes you ignorant. back to bill cosby he needs to clean out his own backyard before he makes comments on other people. see he is doing something that no one is paying attention to. he is throwing the focus on black people so we won’t judge him on his constant cheating on his wife, his sexual assault charges. he was accused of drugging a woman and having his way with her. so do not say “hey there are no fathers in the home” when you are doing the things that cause a woman to put a father out the home. the only reason why his wife did not put him out is because he has money and also she probably is one of those woman who wanted to say i am Mrs. so and so at any cost. she also did not want to be humiliated. she had to save face. he was accused of having a child who tried to black mail him. the kid, they SAY was not his but there was no DNA test. the mother said no need. so why was bill taking care of this girl if she was not his?? why was he sending money to a woman who was not the mother of his kid?? could it be because it WAS his child or was he still running up in the mother raw after all these years?? was that a long term affair?? did camille really know?? bill was right on some things but the pot cannot call the kettle black. what kind of example is he setting for anyone?? it is okay to sexually assault people and it is okay to cheat on your wife? that shit is why people are not getting married anymore. we do not treat each other with respect.

first kids need a father in the home. a woman can not raise a man. i am so sick and tired of black people blaming the women because the father of their child decided to break camp or not pay his child support. yes 2 parent hoseholds have issues but not a much as one parent households. a father dying and a father just plain walking away is 2 different things. single parents have to work. they work 2 and 3 jobs. so who can watch the kids?? not dad he is gone. these grandparents plain do not want to be bothered unless there is money involved. that is the problem in black communities the black man gets away with being a deadbeat dad and mom is blamed. do you really think that if a real lady could tell the future or see the words “i am not a good catch ” written on the man’s head that she would bother with him?? hell no. that is another thing, black woman are accuse of not giving a brother a chance if she wants something better. i know plenty of black women who gave the brother a chance and he blow it. black men have always gotten away with not doing the right thing. the black women has always had to take shit for what a black man has done. i bet bills wife did not know he was sexual predator and a cheater now did she?? like number 13 said bill is only calling out the poor blacks. what about the ones with money?? because bill knows all his shit will be shut the hell down. rappers glorfiy the ghetto. selling drugs to their own people. disrespecting women. having lots of ladies to screw and not wanting to pay child support after sex with a groupie. that should be discussed. when i was kid rap was about going to school and getting out the hood to better yourself. not becoming “hood rich” from people in the hood. this all stems back to slavery. the house slaves thought they were better than the field slaves. the blacks with money had slaves and thought they were better than them. the blacks who could pass for white also turned their noses up. i have an aunt who has passed for white and she had the nerve to think she was better. my grandfather died and she did not come to the funeral and she knew where he lived because she once lived in my grandfathers house and ate his food. i come from a black family who thinks they are better. my mother’s side and my father’s side. they have this regal attitude. we need to help each with our flaws instead of calling people out on them. i always say don’t talk about be about it. babysit for a single mother. give her a ride to work. help another person get that G.E.D. or high school diploma. teach a person how to read or write. mentor an at risk child. stop making babies and leaving them. get married to the mom why don’t you. do something to help your community instead of breaking it down and tearing it apart. in other words stop talking big shit and do something about the situation.

When are black people as a race going to get it together? All we do is fight and argue about trivial issues and refuse to unite on anything. Bill Cosby is the part of a larger problem which is the non-existent communication between “elite” African Americans and those who are living in poverty. Economic empowerment and self sufficiency should be focused on rather than referring to anyone’s personal life when everyone’s circumstances are different. Cosby makes some valid points however when he refuses to look at the whole equation his views becomes biased and one dimensional. There are many factors as to why their is more dysfunction in urban areas. It would be in our best interest to address those problems and find a solution to improve the conditions and mentality of defeat in those communities. I find other races more organized, equipped, and supportive of each other to form a alliance in order to inspire change. The latino leadership is outstanding in my area, it’s a shame black leaders still have their heads in the sand.

I equate the problem in the black community to a fruit bearing tree. Every fruit that the tree bears end-up rotten and unfit for consumption. Everyone, including the farmer has tried everything to improve the quality of fruits the tree bears…they water the tree in the freshest water possible, they sing to the tree, they adorn the tree with flowers and fresh scent. Nothing works. The community gets frustrated and began cursing the tree. They cut down the tree and grow another tree with new seed…and still the problem persists.
You see, the fruit is not the source of the problem, nor is the tree. The source of the problem may not even be the seed, but the ground in which it was planted on. The moment blacks were shipped into America, they have been planting seeds in an unfertile land, a land not designed for blacks and its seeds.
America, in its construction, did not envision blacks in mind. You are the remnants of slave laborers, whose purpose were the similar to that of field animals. You have toiled and fought so that you can be given basic human rights. Mothers and fathers were split from their children and traditional patriarchal roles were deconstructed. You are the remnants of broken and fractured homes. Until Black Americans understand their history in America, you will continue to bear rotten fruits unfit for consumption. Until Black Americans understand that America wasn’t designed for you, your many attempts to remedy the problems in your community will end-up in failure.
As a side note…I am not discounting the fact that a large proportion of black males are incarcerated. I am not discounting the fact that a large proportion of black females are living with STDs and other life changing diseases. But, whenever someone speaks of STDs in the black female population, some un-informed person is quick to point out that black males are the ones dispensing these diseases.
Does it ever occur to you that there are increasingly large number of promiscuous black females who are fucking anything and anyone, including Jewish men, Hispanic men, white men, who are heavy into drugs and carry with them all types of venereal diseases. There are an increasing large number of black women who are engage in all types of sexual deviances, including group sex, homosexual behaviors, and sadomasochism ( not with black men).
It is too easy to blame black men for the ills of society…

@116 So Long post short,LOL ( Just kidding.I like that illustration by the way, very nice) Are you saying that it’s not black peoples fault, but rather it’s this country fault because it wasn’t made for us?
If that’s what you are saying then that is just ridiculous. You are responsible for your own actions and doesn’t matter what other says or do. I can’t stand Bill Cosby but he is telling the truth. When need to stop blaming everbody else for our problems and look in the mirror and see where we need to make changes. Nobody is making these black men leave their children behind for the mamas or grandmamas to raise on their own. Nobody making these young black kids sale dope and kill others. People want to blame their environment when it only play a small part.

I know you and many have been conditioned to believe that you are responsible for your own actions… and to a point I agree. But, to show the fallacy in your way of thinking, I give you another scenario.
For this scenario, I will equate the United States Government to a Civil Engineer. The job of civil engineer is to design infrastructures, like roads and bridges.
The United States government has designed roads for its citizens— two different sets of roads were designed for blacks and for whites. Some of you are wearing blindfolds and cannot see that all roads are not the same and all roads do not lead to the same places. The roads that blacks have been traveling on are bumpy roads, full of detours, roadblocks and dead ends. A driver on this road may believe he/she is in control of his/her destiny, but the truth is, your destiny has already been carved out as long as you stay on this road.
Yeah…some were fortunate to have gotten off that road, perhaps because of luck, pandering, ass-kissing or a natural gift…but, not all are so fortunate.
The full of effects of slavery on the psychosocial development of blacks in America is still being documented. The moment blacks were shipped in the United States, you were place in an unnatural element, forced to behave unnaturally. Again, I repeat, go read the history of slaves in America. The moment slaves landed, children were separated from their fathers and mothers. The fathers were whipped in front of their children. Mothers were forced to turn against fathers so they can win favor with their White-Slave masters. The conditions that bore African Americans were unnatural and in-humane. You are the products for fractured pasts, broken homes, mistrust, and mental and physical abuse.
Your roads have already been carved out since the early days of slavery. You have been traveling on this road ever since. Until you understand from whence you came, you will continue traveling on that road, thinking (since you are the one driving) you are in control of you actions. Nothing could be further from the truth.

we all need to stop talking shit and help our people instead of bringing them down. and also your personal life has alot to do with what is sprewed out your mouth. if your not living right, you will find flaws in everyone else to make your foul life style look better. every race has issues. why is it that so-called black problems are always brought to the forefront?? do you think latinos and white folks are not on drugs?? do you think they all have an education?? hell no. jews have some shit with them screwing and marrying their own family members. that is why they only live among each other so we won’t find out about their mentally disabled children due to incest. also what family member is having intercourse with another family member.every race has problems people. even the royals (queen elizabeth and the fam) engage in incest and other things. that is why they all look strange. we black folk need to help each other. help another black person get out of his or her rut. i hate to tell all of you this but when we are all old in gray, we all end up in a nursing home with a stranger washing our asses. no matter how rich, poor, black or white it all evens out in the end. from there our last stop is the funeral home. so stop living your lives judging others instead of helping others.

“Nobody is making these black men leave their children behind for the mamas or grandmamas to raise on their own.”
I see you are a stereotypical black woman. You love to play the victim role. And if you are a man posting this comment, then, you might as well cut off your penis; you have no need for it.
You are misinformed and your statements show that. You buy into popular black sitcoms shows that play on the stereotype that black men bear children and leave. NO self-respecting black woman will say what you have just said. To do so, is to say black women are imbeciles, weak and bears no responsibility in the mate they choose.
Again, let set the record clear. There are numerous reason why numerous black males are absent from their homes. First, many of them are in jail, for minor and major offenses. Secondly, many of them are dead (could be to homicide, disease, gang warfare, war, or automobile accidents). The question is why do women have children with men they know will not live long or end-up in jail?
Third, many are divorced, and because of this fucked-up court system, a woman can play her child against the father. Many women are using this court system to limit or deny the father any sort of visitation rights. Fourth, many women don’t know, who fathered their children. Many of these women are teenage mothers who have many sexual encounters and have no idea who is the father. 1 out of 3 children born in the US are born to non-biological fathers. Imagine these odds. If you have a father, there’s a 30% chance, he may not be your biological father.
I had enough of this same tired shit from you women. It is too easy to blame black men for the ills of society. And if you believe black men are to blame, then the solution is easy…eliminate all black men.
I never heard of black men causing war, creating nuclear weaponry, creating biological warfare,
When will black women accept some responsibility for the shit they are threading in?

To put all the blame on the woman or man is unequal and unfair. Both play a role. Nobody is more guilty then the other. So the blame game can not be played on EITHER SIDE.

You just prove my point in how ridiculous you sound. I’m less of a man or woman because I said that, you really need to get off your high horse. You want to act like you are so informed when really your talking out of your behind. First I made that comment because Bill said we need the fathers at the home. Please, never did I say that all men leave their children behind. I know that personally that it’s not true so pleae cut the foolishness. You are right, some of these fathers are in jail,or dead. But lets be real, most of these fathers are out and about and don’t give care about their seed. Women are just as triffling, especially like you said about using their children as bargaining chips is deplorable. I don’t get why women pick dummbies either.
What I don’t get is why you are so offended? (DON”T ACT LIKE YOU AREN’T, I CAN SEE YOU POUTING OVER THE WEB.LOL) Are you one of those men? Is there a sense of guiltiness? Because if you aren’t you shouldn’t be in such uproar. LOL!
” I never heard of black men causing war, creating nuclear weaponry, creating biological warfare,”
I guess you don’t watch tv that much. Do you know what’s happening in Darfur? The Congo? Have you ever heard of the Rwanda genocide? I could go on but you want get the point anyway. But I guess that’s the path choosen for them by the white man. Please. People like you are so arrogant that they don’t even see themselves being arrogant. You are right that there’s racism and that we have to work harder. But you are giving the white man too much credit. People are responsible for their decisions and have no one else to blame. We see all these problems we have as a people have and we just assume the white man in some kind of way has something to do with it. YOU’RE ONLY OPPRESSED WHEN YOU ALLOW IT…………………………. You know what I’m not going to argue with you. Your going to stick to what you said, and so am I. I respect your opinion on things and wish you would do the same. So I’m just going to let it go. Wish you nothing but the best.

Bill, Bill, Bill. What are we going to do with you? The issue is not to give a specch to stop playing rap music, or to stop dressing a certain way. But the issue and essentially the root of the problem which is poverty and lack of education. This is in combination with low self worth and self fullfilling prophesies. What’s going on in the black community is a disgrace yes, but we cannot put a bandaid on the situation with more Cosby speeches. Let’s talk about why the music is filthy, which is generally due to a refelection of the community. Let’s talk about why our young black men feel the need to dress and act a certain way which is usually due to low or no self worth and no father figure or credible role models in their life. Let’s talk about why our young girls are getting pregnant left and right, also due to no father figures and most of all low self worth and self esteem. Let’s talk about these issues! We’ve had decades of Bill Cosby like speeches and were had that gotten us. Nowhere!
Someone mentioned that the jews got themselves together, and blacks have no excuse. Well, yeah we do. The holocaust for the most part took place in Germany. Slavery took part in America, we are STILL in america. The jews are not in Germany anymore. The slavemasters are still in our face and still present around us keeping us enslaved. Over 400 years of slavery, is in no way in comparison to the holocaust. Not saying that the holocaust wasn’t horrible in every way but blacks are STILL GOING THROUGH IT. So what we can sit in the back of the bus now, we are still discriminated against daily. Look at the Genoside in Sudan, the US doesn’t get involved because it’s black people, and blacks are not considered human beings in their eyes. They would rather barge into Iraq with a senceless war, while standing idlely by while mother earth Africa dies. Don’t even let me get started on the racist justice system in America when it comes to Sean Bell, Amadou Diallo, etc. But my point is that the black experience in America requires a divine intervention and a serious revolution for things to really change, not another Bill Cosby speech.
Blacks are still at the bottom of the barrel because we have yet to recover because we are not living in an environment to recover. America is anti-black period, it hates us so deeply, that now we even hate ourselves. It’s sad!

THE DIRTY LOW LIFE COSBY IS AT IT AGAIN. THIS FOOL IS ONLY TRYING TO COVER UP HIS FAILURES BY CRITICIZING OTHERS.
HE FAILED HIS DAUGHTER WHEN, WITH ALL HIS MONEY SHE STILL ENDED UP A CRACK HEAD.
HE FAILED HIS SON WHEN HE SENT HIM TO PROSTITUTES FOR COMPANIONSHIP INSTEAD OF ENCOURAGING THE BOY TO SEEK OUT A PROPER BLACK FEMALE.
HE FAILED HIS WIFE WHEN COUNTLESS NUMBERS OF WOMEN RECOUNTED HOW HE DRUGGED AND RAPED THEM. QUITE OBVIOUSLY HE MADE ALL OF HIS WHITE WHORES MILLIONAIRES WITH BIG PAY OFFS. HOW MANY BLACK WOMEN, NOT IN HIS FAMILY, HAS HE HELPED - NONE!
HOW MANY INDUSTRIES DID HE CREATE TO GIVE BLACK PEOPLE JOBS? NOT ONE! HE WASN’T EVEN SMART ENOUGH TO OWN A VENUE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY WITH ALL THAT MONEY HE MADE BECAUSE OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT, TO PROVIDE JOBS FOR BLACK AMERICANS WHEN ALL THESE FOREIGNERS CAME AND TOOK ALL OF THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION THAT SHOULD HAVE GONE TO BLACK PEOPLE.
HE IS A FAILURE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. NOW THE ONLY WAY HIS OLD GRIZZLY SELF CAN DRUM UP SOME ATTENTION IS BY ATTACKING THE VERY PEOPLE HE HAS FAILED. AND FOOLISHLY BECAUSE OF THEIR LOW SELF ESTEEM THEY EMBRACE THIS FOOLS CRITICISMS. HE IS ONE SENILE FOOL WHO NEEDS TO PUT A SOCK IN IT.

PETE THE RAP COMMUNITY AND BUSINESS HAS DONE NOTHING BUT GOOD IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY. IT SAVED GHETTO BOYS FROM PRISON. IT GAVE BEYONCE, JANET, TAMEKA, KIM, ETC., GOOD PROVIDERS AND MILLIONAIRES FOR HUSBANDS AND THE FATHERS OF THEIR CHILDREN.
ONLY A FOOL WOULD CRITICIZE THE RAP COMMUNITY.
ANY VIOLENCE YOU SEE IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS CAUSED BY THE FOOLS WHO ALLOWED THEIR 3 YEAR OLD BABIES TO WATCH “TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE”, “JASON”, ETC. YOUNG CHILDREN WATCHING THAT VIOLENCE MESS GET DESENSITIZED TO IT. THE VIDEO GAMES GIVE THEM TARGET PRACTICE ON SHOOTING A VICTIM, AND DRIVING WRECKLESSLY, AND THE COCAINE THESE CRACK HEAD PARENTS WHO SCREAM ABOUT RAP, PUT INTO THEIR WOMBS DESTROYED THIS GENERATION. BUT YOU WON’T HEAR COSBY TALK ABOUT THAT BECAUSE THAT IS HOW THE WHITE MAN MADE HIS BILLIONS, AND HE PROBABLY LOVES THE CRAK AS MUCH AS MOST OF THAT LOUSY CROWD WHO PICK ON INNOCENT YOUNG BOYS TRYING HARD TO RAP THEIR WAY OUT OF THE GHETTO.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA THAT BLACK GROWN UPS THREW THEIR SONS TO THE WOLVES AND RASCIST AND BEGGED THEM TO DEVOUR THEM IN THE ANALS OF HELLISH PRISONS. THEY SHOULD ALL ROT IN HELL FOR IT.
WE USED TO PROTECT OUR BOYS FROM AN UNJUST POLICE STATE, AND A HARSH SOCIETY. ALL OF THESE CREEPS ARE BRAIN DAMAGED FROM SMOKING CRAK THAT’S WHY THEY DO WRONG BY THE BOYS. AS A MOTHER I AM SICK OVER IT. SICK THAT OUR PRECIOUS BOYS ARE BEING TARGETED SIMPLY FOR FASHION, WHEN EVERY PEOPLE ON THE PLANET ARE LOOKING LIKE FOOLS WITH RINGS IN THEIR NOSE, TONGUE, BELLY, PRIVATES. WHITE KIDS HAVE BLUE PINK GREEN HAIR. BUT OUR POOR BLACK BOYS CAN’T EVEN WEAR THE FASHION OF SAGGING THAT WAS STARTED WITH THE WHITE MAN SHOWING PURE CRACK AND ALL THESE BOYS ARE SHOWING IS NICE LOOKING UNDERWEAR.

I don’t know if it’s been said on the comment board yet, but I read that issue of Black Enterprise and they completely left off dentists from that list of America’s Top Doctors amongst other qualified fields. Dentists are in fact doctors that receive a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from accredited four-year post-grad universities. There are many black dentists that have created life-saving and life-enhancement techniques that Black Enterprise has failed to give credit to under their umbrella title of “America’s Top Doctors”, even some dentists that have been featured in BE’s own pages. A more fitting title would have been Top Cardiologists or some other specific genre than to recognize all with the title and forget some.

BC is so right!!! It’s time to stand up! Being Black in America does have a value. Many times you have to get far, far away from your environment to learn the truth. At this present time, no one is responsible for us but us. Even though at times you may not feel like your brothers and sister’s keeper, you are!
Earn, learn, love (safely) and remember that everyday is Black History! Be proud of who you are!
Peace!

Rev Wright’s comments are a day late and $40 dollars to short. He should have been vocal long before Obama considered running for office. He scares white folks and some blacks which may in turn hurt Obama. He should have picked a better time to voice his opinions. He’s thrown gasoline on small fire that was starting to burn big. In other words, he may have cancelled Christmas on Obama’s chances to be in the White House.
