NEWS: Teen in skimpy dress banned prom & handcuffed

promdress.jpg

Teenager Marche Taylor was banned from her high school prom and led away in handcuffs after turning up in a skimpy dress over the weekend. She’d dared to bare her legs, shoulders and midriff in the risqué yellow outfit at the last sioree of Madison High School’s year in Houston, Texas. When the 17-year-old tried to get past door staff at the Sugar Land Marriott hotel’s ballroom, she was told she’d violated her school’s dress code. A confrontation turned nasty and police were called, escorting Taylor away in handcuffs.

hmmm…..who’s to decide what to wear for your prom..im upset

  2. Charlie

I love how the girl wanted her money back after they rejected her.Classic.

  3. HOTMOMMA001

This chic needs a BEAT DOWN! Where the heck were her parents? That is just unacceptable and my son already knows when it’s PROM time for him in 2 years, he better WATCH HIS DATE’S BACK! She should’ve been escorted out. Where is the respect and morals of these teenagers today? I’m VERY GROWN and wouldn’t wear that DRESS! SMH! Generation X

  4. noonienewnu

ommggg im finally first lol..thnk you Mom!!

but aint nothing wrong with her dress cuz i’ve seen worse..

  5. ebocka

that’s stupid, but now if she was a white girl, she would of been cheered and they would tell her she looked good, double standard

  6. Bygbaby

Where was her momma or did her momma make that dress. That was totally inappropriate! She also should not be graduating based on he language skills. Likeded is not a word.

Furthermore, why does she have that huge tattoo & tongue piercing. No one should be outraged by this.

    Bygbaby

  7. KENAY

hahah…this is pathetic…just like a nigga to pull a stunt like that…lol….people today

  8. her and her mama need they asses whooped

  9. Gee

@ #6 I kinda agree with you on one hand-especially in Sugarland TX, LOL. But her moms needs to be slapped for letting her look like she’s going to a job interview at the local “scripp club”…

  10. giovani74

Mike Baisden was talking about this chic as well. I thought girls wanted to dress like a princess for prom not a slut. Us black people need to WAKE UP!

  11. Simplistik

LMAO @ the REAL fashion police!!

  12. makita

That dress is to much just for a prom it looks like she should be in Beyonce’s freakem dress video. I think they did right turning her away that dress is awful.

  13. chelle

she should have read the dress code. LOL @ that dress. what a mess

  14. DOB

The dress is too much, but sadly, I HAVE seen worse.

And she was well within her right to ask for her money back if she couldn’t go.

  15. Carrie-Ann

No girl, white or black needs to wear a dress like that. It’s PROM, a school hosted event. How are her parents so lazy as to think it’s ok to let their daughter out wearing stuff like that? and then the same girl would no doubt complain if a guy touched her the wrong way. Stop inviting trouble. We do not live in some utopia where you can get away with wearing what you want like this. Real life don’t work that way. If it looks like a ho and dresses like a ho… what do you expect people to think???????!!! GAWD I am s sick of people cheering on this kind of behavior. Our women and girls walk around looking like hoes. If you do that I think you’ve given up your right to demand to be treated with respect when you have none for yourself. She got what she deserved. Only thing missing was the ass whooping at home.

  16. mz jahjah

WHAT IN THE HELL WAS HER PARENTS THINKING WHEN THEY LET HER OUT THE HOUSE?!
she looks a hot ass mess and she deserved not to be allowed into her prom…i mean really did she think it was cute!?!?…wear a damn scarf to cover her damn nipples…i kno girls wanna be sexy nowadays for prom..but what happened to being classy?…

  17. 8BALLER

Her guttabutt ass needed to be banned. I dont feel sorry for her at all.

Her, her parents, and her friends all need they ass whooped caused clearly none of them care about her, to let her come out the house looking like that.

  18. Reese

    Why is this national news???

  19. Rep Da D

I SEEN HER AT THE STRIP CLUB…..HER NAME IS EXTASY!!!!

DAMN SHE WEARIN THAT SAME DRESS SHE WORE AT THE STRIP CLUB TO THE PROM?! damn lmao!

    black people today…..*shakes head*

  20. tattle - tale

is this our future on display; isn’t prom suppose it be formal . i thought they look like ladies of the night i feel these are smart girls . can they be good girls /gone bad? can concreteloop check back w/ these girls in 6 mos. and lets get a progress report.. are we doomed . i don’t want to judge, but what are their grades? what subjects did they take and can they articulate proper english . questions need to be answered here. i’ll tell you this they look a whole lot smarter than this picture.

  21. mz jahjah

    && at 6
there is absolutely no excuse or pardon for any female of any race to wear such an horrendous dress… that shit look like she ready to work the pole at the shakey butts…

she knew exactly what she was doin when she asked to have it made like that…&& yes i have seen worse, but its still no excuse…

damn, we have got to do better then this…it is just another reason for white people to make fun of us and talk more ishhh……

    LETS GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE….

  22. Miss. Tiandez Jones

i dont think there should be a dress code for prom, you should be free to express yourself however u feel comfortable doing so, thats garbage what they did. On that note, i must say that I have seen worse, even at my prom. The white girls came in some ish i cant even begin to explain..see through, cut outs, thongs all out, skin tight, no panties..yepp so be thankful its not her crotch we’re seeing. But yes where’s her mother and all those other girls mothers on a serious tip, because prom is a time to be elegant not trashy..and this look is trashy for a young lady like herself to be wearing anywhere.
With that said i disagree with how the situation was handled. Turn her away, yes..she already knew before hand that that type of get-up would not be approved, but the handcuffs, no no.
home girl looked a hot mess same way though, and after watching the video, its sad to see shes ghetto as hell and so young.

  23. Xpert2007

@16 ….I agree 100%. She looks like a prostitute in that dress. We complain about Lebron on the cover on Vogue in hooping shorts, but this is ACCEPTABLE?

  24. UrbanChick

This girl looks down right trashy.

  25. MyTwoCents

It’s inappropriate for a school function. Period. But then again she knew that…

  26. Cortney

    WTF

ok, so we have black women getting killed, kidnapped, raped, etc and the news hardly, if ever, cover that, but when a young black girl wears a promiscuous dress to her prom and is banned, OHHHH let’s put that shit all over the news.

Every station i turned to this afternoon had this story as a headliner.

So, black women can only get on the news when they’re portrayed as over-sexed, skimpy, ho-ish creatures, but when young black girls are kidnapped, when a young black woman is missing and her body is found dead, the media won’t talk about it?

i promise, every year around prom time, i see a major cover story on the local news, featuring a black girl wearing a skimpy dress. what’s the fascination?

  27. I agree with you #27. She knew better, and so did her damn parents.

  28. Nichole261

Wow…I can’t say I’ve seen worse at my prom…but then again that was years ago…but none the less…it was inappropriate…sure it seems it could have been handled differently as far as handcuffs are concerned…but we don’t know the reasons behind the handcuffs…they only said “things got out of hand”. I think the school has every right to impose a dress code because it is a school sponsored function…if she was going to the club that’s different. SMH at some of you talking about if it was a “white” girl things would have been handled differently…and you know this how…I seriously don’t think race had any thing to do with it in this case…and some of you talking about you’ve seen worse at your prom…different schools have different policies…so there’s no comparison…

  29. Salena

come on black folks when are we gonna get it together! her mama should have known better. then got the nerve to be on CNN bringing even more attention to herself making us look bad. they should have sent her @ss home for being so dumb. omigod what an embarrassment!

  30. People need to know the difference between classy and TRASHY!!!

  31. loveee

I’m sorry but that dress is really inappropriate ecspecially for PROM.

  32. algie

that is not a dress for the prom but for the stripper to wear on her way down the pole……to the generation of today….get well soon is all i can say

  33. Tiffy

She looks a mess not only was the dress hoochie but it was ugly too

  34. AWJ12687

Uhhh who the hell cares about dress code? It is prom night the one time u can show the fuck out. I think it was in bad taste to reject her. She just showed some torso and legs I mean what the fuck is gonna happen. I don’t believe a school should have hand in telling someone what they can wear to prom. The outfit wasn’t even outrageous I have seen far worst. That school is a little too strict my old High School would have let her right in. Their is no reason for her to have missed her prom for such a minor thing.

  35. Uuum...

That is crazy! Ok, I must admit, I wore a two piece to my prom(2001). It was classy tho! My mom woulda never in her(37 years at the time) life let me get outta the driveway with this on! Everybody wants to test to see how lmuch ess they can wear every year and get into the prom. Its rediculous. Now some of these girls look cute, while others look like their just looking foward to after the prom. Im a young woman and I still dont understand it…Did her momma think it was cute or something?

  36. Sharonda

Agree with Chelly and Carrie Ann.

  37. ja

That’s what I’m talking about. That was the worst example of parenting I seen in a while. That girl had a big ass tattoo on her chest. She 17 years old. Her mother is allowing her to be that way. And “oh PLEASE” to anyone who says this is expression. In ALL school in Texas (Dallas independant School Grad) The School dress code is highly followed. She knew she was not allowed to wear that and that why she wore it. plain and simple. Who allows there kid to walk around like that. And we wonder why our kids grow up to be rapper, drug dealer, and gruopies

  38. Uuum...

I agree completely #27…..and at #29 about them only say “things got outta hand”…we cant say because we were not there.

  39. 314one

Someone can at least give her a penny off the ground to go with the $0.99 refund she will get from that get-up. It’s hoochie, ghetto, and trifling. She looks just down right stank. Pass the Frebreeze!

  40. PhDST

This is really sad. I don’t understand why many young ladies don’t want to dress as young LADIES any more. Most MATURE men find a little mystery very appealing….vs. when you put it all out there, it’s not challenging and they feel no need to pursue the lady. The dress doesn’t even look like someone sewed it together…a twist here, a tie there, let’s tuck that there, and then VOILA!!! I can hear it now….’ooooooh girl, my dress gon’ be the $#!T…ya’ll ain’t seen nuffin like this befo’

Where was her prom date? If she had one, sad to say, we already know what he…scratch that…both of them had in mind for after prom…

  41. Imma B. Honest

Hell yeah! ban her ghetto ass from the prom! Very tacky! She looked tow up from the floor up!

  42. Nichole261

@39….about the “things got out of hand” comment…I think that’s what they said in the video…that’s why I said…we don’t know what truly happened for the reasons behind the handcuffs…I can only assume she didn’t want to leave and was being resistant…

  43. Nichole261

  44. chocolatebee

here in houston, which is were this girl is from, certain schools require certain dress code standards for prom dresses. ive been out of high school for almost 10 yrs but i remember the prom being a formal affair. but in recent years ive noticed that it seems the tackier, the more home made the dress looks, the better or so according to these kids today. this girl was tacky and tasteless. she looked a messed and deserved to be arrested for this fashion mistake. madison is a ghetto school with ghetto people. this girl looks older than 18 so im not surprised about her choice of dress. im sure her parents are just as ghetto as she is and couldnt approve or didnt care too much about what she wore. pathetic

  45. Quise

Her mama should have had her ass beat for letting her out of the house like that. She ain’t grown yet. Young ladies don’t wear dresses like that to the prom. Now arresting her would have been too much. Send her hot tail home!
    I holla,
    Quise

  46. chocolatebee

and again the school this girl attends is madison, it is a black high school. a ghetto school. this has nothing to do with her being black. it has to do with her being ignorant. im sure she acted a donkey fool when they denied her access to the prom. im an educated too and i hate to see students like her. her a$$ probably hasnt been to school all year but wanted to go to the prom.

  47. Uuum...

@45…I wasn’t disagreeing hun…there is no doubt in my mind that she had a jazzy mouth with the staff, but hey, WE WERE NOT THERE. I accept your apology…..

  48. i'm just here for the free food

    well alright now!

  49. GO SPURS

CNN should be embarrassed. these news shows and their clips are becoming desperate. CNN should be ashamed for airing this clip. Black folks, lets not air our dirty laundry on the air. Lets maintain a little mystery and not allow ourselves to be such laughing points with the white media. GO SAN ANTONIO SPURS

  50. Natalia

Are you sure that’s even a girl! She looks like a 2 dollar tranny hooker.

How is this even CNN news worthy?

Over 10,000 people died in an earthquake in China yesterday, another 30,000 in a cyclone and this soon to be on welfare, wannabe stripper is all over the news!

And…why in the world do people wear sunglasses indoors??

  51. Dahm!

To the “Gutter-But Trollop”: First, I’m going to need you to throw some lotion up on that ashy azz face before you go up on national TV in your little rags…Thanks! (and I know yall peeped that ash)
Secondly, don’t you EVER, that’s right heffer… I said don’t you f*king EEEVer in your pre-paid life walk out the house wearing that sh*t again!! Sh*T looks like it was made for a DAHM Crack Head! If your going to dress like a Ho, do it right (see JLO)…She officially made my head hurt..Dahm!!!!!

  52. TRAILBLAZER

This doesn’t surprise me. I mean I’ve seen worst as well but at least she did have a memorable night and she got the world wide coverage that she wanted. So see fairy tales happen after all. But I agree that this was not major news and we have other things that the media could’ve reported on like a missing child or a mother who has been killed. Matter in fact why not give coverage to the black teen who came to the prom dressed nicely and who should be commended for bringing her/his grades up to a A grade point average this year. There’s so much that we need to focus on and this surely isn’t it. Sounds like a personal problem to me. Next time she’ll think twice. As teenagers we all had/have the tendancy to dress provactive but that’s why parents are so important because telling ur child “no” can prevent death, damages, fines, or at the very least public embarrassment. Thank you maaaaaaa!

  53. JstBReal

Not trying to judge a book by its cover, but she probably was asked to leave and got ghetto or loud so I dont feel sorry for this chic being arrested. Thats not even far to call that a dress..more like fabric just put together. I mean cmon..she outta known damn well she was gonna start smthng by wearing her that kinda outfit to a school event.

  54. Voluptous Diva

Disgraceful & distasteful!! Where in the hell awere her parents/guardians? No parent in their right mind allows their child to exit the home in that skanky get up. She deserved to be banned, but the handcuffing was over the top and unnecessary. However, she should have been arrested by the FASHION POLICE for this piece of cloth!! And her parents arrested for child neglect!

  55. TRAILBLAZER

Also, being handcuffed might’ve been a lil extreme but at least she wasn’t maced or thrown to the ground and kicked….and that’s only becuz there were witnesses. She need to recognize that she’s in the dirty south and her ass just escaped what could’ve been a dire situation becuz they just looking for a reason to hang somebody ass from a tree down there. She need to piper down and find Jesus. GOD is good, HE trying to tell her something and probably saved her life that night for all she know…
Some men, including teenaged boys, out here are crazy and will rape her ass if she’s not careful…it’s not a game here out. Somebody need to tell her…GOD is trying to. Rapists look like everyone else and she might’ve got gang raped if she went to that prom and got loose afterwards. I can see the handwriting on the wall.

  56. Dame

The dress a bit much but to be taken away in handcuff is extreme. She goes to my bestfriend cousin school and they had a dress code and she should have followed them.

  57. cocacola72284

Ok I think I am MORE upset with her FRIEND in that pic who told that $hit was ok!!! That is not a friend; to let you walk out the house like that.

To any of the young ladies on this board 18 and under, this is not acceptable for a respectable young woman. Not at all.

  58. Umm

Lord Ha Mercy Kelly Clarkson Eddie Murphy!
