POLITICS: EDWARDS ENDORSES OBAMA
Thursday, May 15, 2008

On Wednesday at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, John Edwards endorsed former rival Sen. Barack Obama. Edwards, a former senator from North Carolina and 2004 vice presidential nominee, finished second to Obama in the Iowa caucus before dropping out in late January.

Let it go… It is not time for Hillary to be president.. I don’t think anyone is hating on her because she is a female..The problem with billary is that she is a liar and she ran a negative campaign.. Hopefully she will learn from her mistakes..
P.S. All black folks don’t follow!! There is a lot of educated Blacks who read, read, read, thats exactly why Obama is in the position he is in..

#15 I saw that bullsh*t too and these are the people who are only voting for HC because they don’t want a black man for president just plain stupid. But most rednecks are like that they’re ignorant, you’re gonna get alot of this when his gets the nomination, and yeah I said when he gets it. But right now HC is striving for anything now, she’ll take a crackhead’s vote just to try to get ahead of Obama.
At the beginning before this campaigning began I was all for Hilary running for President, now since Obama has been in this thing and me getting to know what he plans on doing for America I switched sides. HC has shown her true colors by continuing doing negative campaigning, and what she’s really like.

Obama-Edwards ticket- who knows? Edwards is desperate to get into the White House.
I think alot of people saw this coming. I remember months ago when Edwards would sometimes kiss Obama’s ass during the debates, and both of them would launch an attack on Hillary. Good times.
Anyways, let this be the nail in her coffin. Even her supporters are asking her to bow out. Homegirl needs to worry about her debt right now.

@ 13 NICOLE
Um…I really think you need to calm down. Just because someone does not share the same opinion as you believe does not allow you to be rude and talk down about black folks. That’s our problem…lack of supporting each other. We have the right to speak out minds. And so do you but at the same time TALK TO PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPOKEN TO…with respect.
Hillary being a woman is so irrelevant. And nobody hates her…many just dislikes her tatics. Hate is such a strong word to use. The dislike is the way she has presented herself throughout this campaign; lashing out vulgarly at her competitor that makes her look bad. The difference in Obama and Clinton is not that great, they share many of the same issues as far as abortion, climate change, immigration and similar idea in the economy and housing…its their styles of campaigning and reaching out to the people that speak volumes.
Clinton has her name as a plus…she had her husband’s experience and her little clique that follows her. She speaks of her experience. And I ask what experience? Being married to the president or dodging sniper fire in Bosnia?
Obama on the other hand only has a message. He’s about being direct and putting things out for everyone to see verses Clinton who declined to release financial contributors lists and the amounts given, tax report and declines to speak about her husband’s various infidelities meanwhile trying to dish dirt on her opponent.
If this country is running a campaign of how you direct people, money, time and expenses, then Obama gets my vote. Wisdom will always win over so-called “experience”.
And FYI black folks do read. It’s the typical stereotypes people like you put out here that “assumes” we don’t read (no disrespect). To my knowledge many black folks were for Hillary in the beginning. However once the media started playing the races card with their “statistical” percentage or calculations of the black population in each state, we ALL started assuming that all blacks folks where for Obama but that is far from the case. I have many friends who still riding with Hillary. But this race is far from over so you might get your girl after all.

I hope Barack doesn’t choose Edwards. He waited too long for it to really impact the race and now that he’s probably going to get the nomination for sure - here he comes. Whatever! Barack has done well without Edwards and can pick a much better running mate. Edwards has already been down the road of a VP running mate and lost - Barack doesn’t need him now.

@30
Thank you cause I though #13 was wrong to come on here and state things like that.
Everything you said was on point and correct and it’s true about this quote:
“To my knowledge many black folks were for Hillary in the beginning. However once the media started playing the races card with their “statistical” percentage or calculations of the black population in each state”
Cause I was in that group, but then everything started going terribly wrong Bill was speaking about race, Clinton jumping on the band wagon with the Rev. Wright mess and forgot her husband use him for couseling during that “I didn’t have sexual relationship with that women” mess OH HOW WE FORGET, but Obama didn’t once bring that up and I thought WOW, even though she’s slinging mud in his face left & right he still focus and want to work on the path of CHANGE I like that, that showed me who had the most experience then, cause under pressure Clinton would choke, cry and throw a major temper tamtem like BUSH is doing now.
So no we need CHANGE and to bring the races together and not apart. I’m all for Obama/Edwards ticket sounds better then Mrs. Thang can you say LOSER.

Glad to know I am not alone.
The funny thing that MANY do not know is the Clintons use to run with Rev. Wright. Actually Wright was part of the Administration as an Aide while Bill was in House. Wright would introduce the Clintons to local Black Reverends and Leaders in the area of Chicago (and I know because I got people there). I believe the year was 1998. Pictures are now starting to resurface of Wright and Bill. Though they knew each other before those sermons were preached however people are staring to raise questions on whether the Clintons or supporters are responsible for the sermons remerging. If you ask me I think its bizarre yet convenient for all of this to come up.
So yeah…they surely are going to up on that bandwagon. Those sermons definitely take away from all the issues around them, LOL.

You know what am getting real tired of this campaigning and going on and on. I mean am not even in America but yet still it feels like this battle have been going on for the past decade. I mean seriously its take for Hillary to Take a bow and if she really cared about the general opinions of Americans then she would realize that Obama has the popular vote and as such HE IS THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE.
And as for # 13 Nicole, yes you, black people do read. I am black and I read so too are many of my friends here at the University of the West Indies. But I can understan where you are coming from with that statement, I mean how many of you guys on here who swear your Obama supports really sat down to read Obama’s memoir Dreams From My Father or is very captivating book that details his dreams and aspirations The Audacity of Hope. My thing is am glad that you guys who dont read recognize that there is something sincere about Obama and what he stand for, but I for one would be even happier of his supports were informed and could speak to the issues and about the man himself. But it is rather wrong to make a blanket statement as to black people dont read thats why they support Obama, Instead what you should say is that black people should read so as to effectively argue why they support Obama and not Hillary. And I do see a few people on here who take offence to your comment and is proving what I am saying.
But in the end everyone around the world is dying to see the end of the Repulican rain and were are just hoping that you guys make the right decision between Obama and Hillary.
OH AND A NOTE TO J. DAKAR IT WOULD BE NICE IF U COULD DO A POST DETAILING HOW THE LEADERS AROUND THE WORLD VIEW THIS ELECTION, ESPECIALLY HERE IN THE CARIBBEAN SINCE WE CAUSE ARE SO CLOSE TO AMERICA AND WHENEVER AMERICA SNEEZES LAWD KNOWS WE CATCH A GOOD DOSE OF THE FLU. @13 I am a WOMANIST, and as a black woman I believe gender is just as important to me as race, I do read. And all I know is I believe we have lost the greatness of the office of the president and apart of that means that we lost someone with a moral compass.
In my opinion, Hillary would sell her mother for the seat. I do not trust her to be honest like I have not trusted GWB. They both are too power hungry to see what is best for all not just some.
Forget rhetoric lets look at her action plan and how she has been planning this since 2000. Anyone see how the Clintons only appeared for J. Kerry and Al Gore only after they were assured GWB was going to win. She moved to NYC to set her seat up for the next run not because it’s home but because she had this planned out. There is nothing wrong with that but it puts the party and the people in the hands of devestation (look at our current economy, the war, housing market gas prices) maybe you should have tried a little harder not to put yourself first. Maybe you should be more self giving then serving and no maybe JKerry would have still lost but as you and other supporters seem to believe their is stock in the Clinton name and power so yeah maybe we wouldn’t have been in 8 years of hell with much more to come.
But on a serious note its not that I dislike Hillary it is more that I do not trust that she will do what is best for this country.
Please do not insult black people for doing what others have died for and people like me in the civil rights community have asked for all along, make a choice and vote. You have chosen her and that is your choice. I do not discount your choice so do not sit up in here and discount mine. I am just glad there as been a surge in voter turn out especially amongst African Americans so no matter who someone selects its great!

IN THE NEXT 6 STATES, ALL OF OBAMA’S VOTERS NEED TO GO TO THE POLLS, AND CAST THEIR VOTE FOR OBAMA. THIS RACE IS NOT OVER UNTIL IT’S OVER, AND THAT MEANS UNTIL ALL THE UPCOMING STATES: WEST VIRGINIA , KENTUCKY, OREGON, PUERTO RICO, MONTANA, AND SOUTH DAKOTA, HAVE VOTED.

Do I Like Barack Obama
More of the question do I feel MR. BARACK OBAMA can handle the job of President of This United States.
Yes I do think the man can do this , provided he has the support ,weather we always agree or disagree with his decision making at all times , we like (or) most of us love our parents , thus the comparison , even still leaders are only as strong as the supportive components that surround them and with that HE WILL WILL DO ONE HEAVEN OF A JOB.
Just one more , vice president , Hey John (Mr. EDWARDS) you seem to be one cool guy , WHATS UP , would you consider, theres another question?
