POLITICS: HILLARY’S BAD DAY

Monday, May 26, 2008

On Friday, Sen. Hillary Clinton explained to the editorial board of South Dakota’s Sioux Falls Argus-Leader why she remains in the race for the Democratic nomination: “My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don’t understand it.”

The New York Times called it one of Clinton’s worst days. Bill Burton, campaign spokesman for Sen. Barack Obama, said “Senator Clinton’s statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign.”

The Clinton campaign countered that “she was simply referencing her husband in 1992 and Bobby Kennedy in 1968 as historic examples of the nominating process going well into the summer. Any reading into beyond that would be inaccurate and outrageous.”

Clinton also issued the following, a departure from her campaign’s initial response:

“Earlier today I was discussing the Democratic primary history and in the course of that discussion mentioned the campaigns that both my husband and Senator Kennedy waged in California in June 1992 and 1968 and I was referencing those to make the point that we have had nomination primary contests that go into June. That’s a historic fact.

The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy and I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that, whatsoever. My view is that we have to look to the past and to our leaders who have inspired us and give us a lot to live up to, and I’m honored to hold Senator Kennedy’s seat in the United States Senate from the state of New York and have the highest regard for the entire Kennedy family.”

Regarding what they call Clinton’s “inexcusable outburst,” the New York Times editorial board said “she could, at least, have apologized. Instead, she issued one of those tedious non-apology apologies in which it sounds like the person who is being offended is somehow at fault: ‘I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the Kennedy family was in any way offensive.’”

What are your thoughts?

@ 72, why is it that any time sexism is talked about that = man hating idiot. Are Obama supporters capable of having an intelligent discussion on society and the role of women without being called man-hating lesbos? No. Well, that’s just sad. Was Alicia Keys a man-hating lesbo when she talked about this. Some of you will probably say yes. Sad.

@ 73, Yes, it is clear to me that the Republicans would MUCH rather run against obama than hillary. Obama is a weak candidate, his coalition is made up of the kind that loses in landslides in past elections. And thank you, you know they would be all out for Hillary if Obama wasn’t in the race and she were doing the same thing to any other Democrat or Republican. At least you’re able to see that Obama is not all that the media tries to pretend that he is.

@ 75, smh. So sad you are clearly unable to debate without name calling, insults and hyperbole and outrageous statements that make no one but yourself look stupid. You would vote for mccain if Hillary were to get the nomination because she plays dirty? Please! Guess what, politics is a dirty game, if you didn’t know that, you’re about to see. Obama isn’t going to change that, and infact, he hasn’t done shit to change it as his campaign is just as dirty as Hillary, but at least Hillary isn’t pretending to be something she’s not, unlike Obama.

Haha, Shelly actually thinks that HILLARY CLINTON would drop out of the race if Obama was a white man? Wow….u just lost all credibility as an intelligent individual.

So if in Obama’s place was John Edwards, you really think Hillary would drop out? Hillary Clinton? Not a chance in hell. Hillary is the farthest thing a white person could be from a racist. The one has been inspired/worked with black leaders and blacks aspiring to be leaders all her life, ever since her college days. Please go and do your research.

If anyone’s a racist ShellyR, it would be you. U sure sound like a Rev. Wright type, spittin all that hatred and shit…

Anyway Ive lost interest with this election process. Why do the Dems have to pit two viable candidates, a black man and white woman against each other like this. Two minorities having to battle it out for the #1 spot. It just aint right.

Whoever wins i will support the nominee. But i dont have to like it, Shelly. But its my right to vote so keep your hatred for white people to yourself.

Let me dismantle the experience lie. Obama has just as much experience as Hillary in the area of politics. Her real experience occurred when she ran for senate in New York. Other than that, being married to Bill does not qualify her to be president.

Next, I don’t understand how anyone black or white alike can defend Hillary. First, she feels entitlted to the presidency because she’s white and her last name is Clinton. Hillary has insulted every demographic group that has voted for her and Obama. She claims that she can run because she can attract the “HARD WORKING WHITE VOTE.” In other words, she is dimissing the votes of all the people of color and the educated whites that have supported her. Now, I do believe that she experienced a horrible case of diarrhea when she made the JFK comment. She needs to get that Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright treatment with that comment. But again, the media continually panders to her.

Lets be for real, mathematically, she cannot win. Even if she won every delegate from here on in, she cannot win. She will get Pueto Rico, but she will not win South Dakota nor Montana because that’s Obama country. Also, she is willing to destroy the Democratic party in order to get her way. TYPICAL WHITE WOMAN (I want to roll with the big boys, but I don’t mind using my gender as a way to play the historical victim).

Ms. Dynomite, as a black woman I will never claim feminism because that is a platform meant for priviledged white women to discuss their claims while dismissing racism. Feminism started out with sound principles, but it evolved to a man-hating, lesbian teaching movement. There are some people that have lashed out a Hillary becuase of her gender, but gender does not and cannot trump race. White women still have something that black men and black women do not have and that’s white priviledge. UNTIL, Hillary gives up white priviledge, I do not want to hear about how badly she has it. You should not attack other posters.

Hillary has shown her dixie crat side a.k.a, undercover racism. HER campaign showed Obama dressed “like a Muslim” when she knew he practiced Chrisianity. HER campaign continues to alienate the black voting block by working with outdated civil rights leaders who have done nothing but pimp the black race (Rev. Jackson, Rev. Sharpton). HER campaign have continually said over and over again that Obama would not be receiving the priviledges if he were a WHITE male. HER campaign continues to play the race card. SHE labeled Obama an elitest despite the fact that she is richer than he. ALL of her policies that she has ever supported have failed. Name me one successful policy that she has supported. You cannot name one from NAFTA to the Iraq War. If experience gets me this, I don’t want it. SHE does not deserve the white house.

In other words, she is hoping somebody will assassinate Obama. Hillary is a real low life. Obama has so much class, when asked his thoughts on her comments, he just said “she made a horrible mistake, maybe she was fatiqued from the campaign” But if the shoe was on the other foot, her and the republican would have a field day…like they did in Pennsylvania.

OOOOMMMMGGGGGG! Post # 72 was RIGHT ON. Use your brains people. Hillary was not planting a seed for Obama to be assasinated and the media KNOWS IT. Just like the media KNOWS the Clintons are not racist, yet you’ve got God knows how many black people who now believe they are racist against black people.

People are accusing Hillary of dividing the party and the country but it is stories like this being strategically placed that are dividing the party. Some media outlets are reporting stories because they may think they are helping Obama, but it is actually hurting his chances. I am a Hillary supporter and do not believe she was calling for his assasination. However going by the way this campaign season has been going, I am sure there are those on this very website who are convinced that is exactly what she was trying to do….infuriating both sides.

Though I support Hillary, both candidates have had their share of things being taken out of context and the media creating things in the public’s minds that the candidates did not mean at all. As poster #73 said, use your brains and think people!

@ Ms. Dynomite. You said “Obama is just as dirty as Hillary is”. This makes me question your reasons for supporting Hillary over Obama.

1.) Why do you choose to beleive that Hillary has been defamed more than Obama throughout this spectacle we call the primaries?

2.) It is painfully obvious this site is formed mainly of Obama supporters. That being said do you think it is wise or better yet productive to come here, of all venues to air your anti-Obama opinions.

3.) Do you feel that you are using A) opinionated or B) factual statements to support your ideas of Mrs Clinton?

90.

ms dynomite

Urbangurl please! I can assure you I’m the furthest thing from a lesbian or a “man-hater” but the fact is there has been acceptance of sexism on a level that is not acceptable when it comes to racism, and that just about proves that the culture at large is much more

democracy is hurting he democratic party? every state in the union getting a say is hurting the democratic party? like i said, a lot of obama people sound like the bush supporters in 2000 who tried over and over to end the process because they were a little bit ahead and prolonging not knowing who the president would be would be “harmful to uniting the nation.”

no one has given me any kind of example of racist remarks being made on air that wre not at all called out. I’m still waiting.

91.

ms dynomite

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 /

I didn’t finish my thought in the first paragraph: “is much more permissive of sexist things said, and it effects EVERY woman of EVERY culture. Sexism doesn’t just effect white women. Infact I’d say sexism effects black women the most since black women are the ones being degraded mostly in videos/rap and there’s a huge acceptance of it.”

92.

velvetj

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 /

Poster # 88 but why should she apologize? If she was not planting seeds for his assasination, why would she apologize? This is just like the Geraldine Ferraro situation. She wasn’t being racist and she knew it, which is why she refuses to apologize for saying Obama would not be the front runner if he were not black. I am a black person myself and I agreed with her. Change nothing about Obama, except his skin color to white, and most black folks would be supporting Hillary Clinton. Oprah Winfrey more than likely would not have been on the campaign trail if Obama was a white man from Virginia. Because of such statments, people are being labeled racist.

This is another one of those situations in my eyes. There are a lot of people who know in there hearts Hillary was not trying to invite an assasination of Obama. Her apologizing for her words directly would be like admitting that was her motive. She wisely made the appropriate decision by apologizing to those who were offended and not for her words.

93.

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 /

@82, I totally agree with you 100%!!!!

Hillary is quite smart. She knows what she is saying. She knows how people will perceive her statements (good or bad). She is using her words to pull racist voters. She is good at race-bating.

So to answer Ms Dynomite (Ms. Sexist) question… Most of her most recent public appearances have been some type of race-bating thus meaning she is pulling the race card thus meaning she has racist views thus meaning she is as racist as some of her statements that have little or nothing to do with the election (but only to force white hard working class voters to pay attention to Obama’s complexion vs. what type of candidate he is).

Hilary would of been a good canidate for the presidency if she would of just limited the things she says. Obama is just sittin back watching her bury herself. BUT, Reguardless of what’s going on, Hilary would of been the better canidate for ONE SIMPLE REASON. BILL WOULD OF BEEN BACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE. And nobody on this blog can disagree with me on that. Even though I wanted Hilary to win, I will be voting for Obama in November. BUT, IF HE DOESN’T WIN, YOU HILARY HATERS NEED TO DO US ALL A FAVOR AND KILL YOURSELF BECAUSE THERE ARE SIMPLY MORE REGISTERED WHITE VOTERS THAN BLACKS AND ALOT OF THEM ARE WILLING TO PUT THEMSELVES AT A DISADVANTAGE BECAUSE OF THERE IGNORANCE.

Why kill yourself because you feel we should vote for Hillary because she is White? I am voting for the best qualified candidate (My opinion only) which happens to be a man of color. If he loses in November because of his skin tone, I can only say SHAME ON AMERICANS WHO WOULD NOT VOTE FOR THIS MAN BECAUSE OF HIS COMPLEXION…

Should that stop me from voting for him? HELL NO! By doing that, we become stagnated. Progression is needed for ALL PEOPLE…NOT JUST THOSE WHO ARE PRIVILEDGED. America needs a WAKE-UP call. And I hope my vote is a ringing sound in the United States of America - The Beautiful!!!

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 /

@ 94, how has she been playing the race card? Because she said she gets more white voters that are working class? Um, she was quoting from an associated press article, and IT’S TRUE. It’s an electability argument. Black voters vote for the Democrat 90+ % of the time in a general election (they make up a greater number in primaries) its the working class white people who swing an election.

@ 90 it’s been known that Obama sends his surrogates out to say outlandish things, such as bringing up Bill Clinton’s affairs, saying Hillary Clinton will do anything to get elected and has no morals (successful bullshit meme pushed that the media and a lot of black people suddenly bought when they hadn’t before), saying Hillary doesn’t deserve to lay the reife(sp?) over a dead soldier’s grave, and pushing Hillary’s Bosnia gaffe in the media through various memos (then pretending not to raise the issue), as well as sending out memos of why Hillary and Bill Clinton are racist. When Bill Clinton said Obama’s campaign pretending to always be against the Iraq war is a fairy tale (which it is, he said he didnt know how he would have voted in 04, and has voted exactly with Hillary when it comes to the war) he was labelled a racist, pushed by the Obama campaign in the media through various emails, when it was taken completely out of context. When this latest thing happened, the Obama campaign immediately said Hillary’s comments have no place in the campaign, then backed off pretending it had no role in pushing this story, because it doesnt want to piss off more Hillary supporters that they are going to need if they have any chance of winning.

Why should I have to pretend like I’m not for Hillary just because ConcreteLoop has a lot of Obama supporters and a pro-Obama political correspondent? I’ve been on concreteloop and since 05 and have never had a problem expressing my opinion about anything else, so whatever if some of you Obama supporters dont want to see the truth. You are hypocrites though because you KNOW your asses would be for Hillary and defending Hillary if Obama was anyone else. Most of you arent really for Obama because he’s “run a cleaner campaign” and will “bring us together” you and I know it’s because he has a black face.

Come Sunday, my puerto rican ppl will put Hillary over the top with the popular vote :). How crazy is it that the winner of the popular vote will not win the nomination. viva hillary.

Demand To DNC: Kick Hillary Out NOW !
Insinuates That Obama Could Be ASSASSINATED !

Now, things have gone way too far. Today, in an appearance in South Dakota, Hillary Clinton justified her reason for staying in the campaign by referring to the fact that presidential hopeful ‘Robert Kennedy was assasinated in June’…implying that the same could occur to Senator Obama. THIS IS SICK !!! Regardless of how the pundits try to spin this as just another misspeak, the statement speaks for itself and displays the diobolical mentality of Hillary Clinton.

It is unclear as to whether she is actually hoping that Obama would be killed, therefore giving her an open path to the Democratic nomination, or if she may be signaling her desire to some sick, warp minded homicidal maniac. Whichever be the case, her statement is automatic grounds for the Democratic National Committee headed by Howard Dean to demand that she remove herself from the race. If he does not, American Democrats should demand HIS stepping down !

This can not be tolerated!!! Regardless of who you are a supporter of, Hillary, Obama or McCain, ANYONE who would wish the death of another human being in order to win a political position is sick, dangerous, maniacal, deranged and totally mentally and morally unfit for any political position, particularly President or V.P. of the United States.

Everyone in America knows that black men in this country have it tougher than most. Hell, black women even have it easier in America than black men. Solidly indisputable. Then you have the Bitter Bitch Crew spouting off nonsense about sexism while willfully ignoring the extreme racial hatred institutionally leveled on their direct community. Their are some mentally sick slaves on this thread for sure.

You can always tell which man-hating black females have lacked positive male representation in their lives. MS. DYNOMITE, how’s that bitter life going? This is a post I ran into. From a non-sexist, objective feminist:

“Thanks, Jill Iscol, for your service to women. As a former NOW state president and National NOW Board member, a former employee of NARAL, a strong supporter of Planned Parenthood and active in my community, I’ve been an active feminist my whole life. Except for Iraq, there isn’t a dime’s difference on policy positions between Obama and Clinton, and yet I switched my support from Hillary to Obama. I cannot express to you how dissapointed I am in Hillary’s campaign and the constant complaint that she represents women and the implication that she is doing it for us, not her. Maybe Hillary could have been elected President if she hadn’t married Bill Clinton, if she had divorced Bill Clinton, if her Iraq vote was different, if she hadn’t praised McCain while doubting Obama, if she hadn’t played the race card, if she hadn’t tried to change the rules half-way through the game. Hillary had her chance and blew it with her sense of inevitability, her patronizing snow shovels in Iowa, her out of control husband, her obnoxious spin doctors. Hillary may be a better women than her campaign but we’ll ever know that now. The fault lies were her decisions, not Obama’s success.” - Simone

This is what it looks like when one expresses their opinion without betraying their self- or man-hate.

If anyone is bitter it’s you by your incohesive rant about bastard children and bitter bitches. I hope you know that Obama is not going to win without Hillary supporters and I think you should at least recognize that a large number of african americans are only supporting Obama because he’s black. Also, you saying “solidly indisputable” doesn’t make it solidly indisputable. Sorry bb. I would still like to know what news organization has made racist remarks about Obama that weren’t called out. Ms. Dynomite, if it’s meant for Obama to win, there is nothing in h-e-double hockey sticks that is going to stop it. I have no control over what Hillary supporters do, and frankly, that carrot you all dangle over Obama supporters’ heads is getting quite wilted. Please, let’s stop the madness. If Hillary were in Obama’s place, her parrots would keep their beaks closed and the whining would stop.

Anyway, you say that blacks are voting for Obama because he is black. Oh, really? When Obama first got on the campaign trail, Hillary had a large black following, did she not? Obama didn’t start out with the majority black vote, did he? Correct me if I’m wrong.

Anyway, this tireless diatribe isn’t getting us anywhere. At the end of the day, we won’t know who the next POTUS will be until November, and I don’t have the energy nor the time to waste debating it anymore because neither of us is going to change our minds. Have a great day.

@Ms. Dynomite,
Your statements sound very ignorant. There have been black candidates before of which did not receive the majority of black votes. Your famous one-sided argument is not working.

Are you assuming that all Blacks are dumb and can not choose a candidate based off of qualifications? If you believe that to be true, then you need to stop expressing your views on black owned blog-sites (because you will not be able to change peoples’ mines).

Could it be you that is blinded by color? Are you and all the whites that are voting for Hillary color struck and only voting for her because she is White? If the question sounds ridiculous to you; just think what your statement about blacks voting only because he is black sound to us!

Some people of color who decided to vote for Obama because he seems to be honest and they feel he has more appeal.

Why would the average black person want to vote for someone that on several occassions tried to race-bate? That is like a slap in the face.

At one point she had the black vote over Obama. She destroyed her own fate. Now she nor her bitter supporters are going to be able to reverse the damage she caused her own campaign.

Lastly, blacks usually vote the same way whether it is a black candidate they choose or a white candidate. Examples: Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore (just to name a few) and the list goes on…

So, please stop babbling on with your non-sense, and find another reason…

114.

ms dynomite

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 /

Second, you’re saying that Obama getting 95% of african american’s vote has NO RACIAL COMPONENT WHATSOEVER?

MS DYNOMITE,

Don’t be ridiculous. You’re grasping for straws now. I also think George Bush, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, John Kerry etc are punk-ass bitches. Does that make me sexist too? Don’t talk about logic when you lack basic comprehension skills. I never called women bitches. I called you, MS DYNOMITE, a bitch. A whiny ass, dumb bitch to be exact.

The funniest part is you actually think I’m an Obama supporter. Further, you assume that African Americans are supporting Obama because he has a “black face.” So in your emotional little world, only AA voters that are supportive of Clinton have a rational underpinning to their vote. You ought to applaud yourself for that bit of intelligence.

You’re obviously incensed by my remarks because they’re dead-on. I would like to see you dispute my assertion about your history with black men. Actually, don’t. First of all, I’m not white.

Second, you’re saying that Obama getting 95% of african american’s vote has NO RACIAL COMPONENT WHATSOEVER? I could see if he were getting 60% to 40% saying there’s no racial component in this, or even 65% to 35% but 96% to 4%???? You’re saying almost all african americans are voting for obama because they believe obama will bring change and hillary wont? The fact that Hillary had a large chunk of black voters until Obama won Iowa seems to make the case that many ARE voting for Obama because he is african american and saw he had an actual chance of winning. I’m not even saying it’s wrong, but I believe it’s disingenuous to say he’s getting near unanimous black support is simply because they like his message better. BTW it was Michelle Obama who said that black america would “wake up” after Iowa and support him.

@116, more vile name calling. Now what would be the reaction on here if I called someone the N word? You expect anyone to believe you don’t call women bitches and cunts when you so easily say it to argue about politics with a female you don’t even know? How would it go down if i said “I never call black people the n word, but I’m calling you the n word” ? No one would believe that shit. yet, again, you prove my point that you cannot make your point without making a sexist remark. People can clearly see that you cant make your case without calling a female you’re arguing with a bitch/cunt/ho whatever. So sad. Christina said it best:

“call me a ‘bitch’ cuz I speak what’s on my mind, guess it’s easier for you to swallow if I sat and smiled. When a female fires back, suddenly the target don’t know how to act. So here’s what any little boy would do, making up a few false rumors or too.”

so true.

I love how people believe that somehow the black vote is keeping Obama alive despite the fact that blacks only make up 13% of the total US population. Why were Obama supporters only questioned why the pollsters began to see that blacks were supporting Obama? Why are blacks always called out for supporting black folks, but whites are never called on their white priviledge? Many blacks originally voted for Hillary because they did not believe that Obama had a chance of winning….Now lets get real. Its sad that in 2008, we still have to wait and see what white folk do before we support our own. History has proven that white voters support white candidates.

@120, no one said that the black vote was only keeping Obama alive. I think it’s fine if african americans want to support obama for racial pride reasons. I’m simply saying I think it’s at least partly dishonest to say that he is getting almost 100% support from african americans voters simply because they support his message more. White supporters have supported Obama and Hillary. The rednecks in WV may have supported Hillary b/c she was white, but whites have supported him in states like Oregon, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and he will get an overwhelming victory in Montana, a state with no african americans.

urban chic I could not have said it better myself. There is no doubt that this race is racially polarized but for different reasons. Most blacks who are Obama supporters have flocked his way because he is the candidate that has shown the most concern and understanding for minority issues, understanding being the all important word. On the other hand, the working class, non-college educated white voterswho have refused to vote for Obama have done so not because of their fear of his lack of expertise but mostly because of their lack of openness to change. Case in point, the interviews from West Virginia and Kentucky post their primaries show the close minded nature of some of these individuals and their unwillingness to vote for a Black man.
Ms Dynomite as I said yesteday you represent the very ideology of an unwillingness to accept change or at the least be open to a discussion. You are fixated on your unilateral views than sexism is a bigger atrocity than racism and such delusional views cannot be sorted out by a board discussion. At the least they prove why you are a Hilary supporter, since she is prone to delusional thinking herself.

Robert Kennedy = Obama Hubert Humphrey= Clinton I think she knew what she meant, if Obama is assasinated then she gets the nomination. I don’t care how they want to spin this, (”out of context” yeah right!) she knew what she was saying, if not she wouldv’e chosen her words carefully, assassination didn’t even have to be in the sentence and she couldv’e ended the comparison with her husband… DROP OUT CLINTON for the sake of whatever is left your legacy and the party!

@122 what are u talking about? I’ve been told that I’m a stupid bitch, a cunt, I should go have bastard children, simply for stating that this campaign has had sexist language throughout it and that Hillary Clinton has been demonized as something she is not. And I AM THE ONE NOT CAPABLE OF MAKING A RATIONAL DISCUSSION????? riiiiiight.

all we ever talk about is the race issue on here and in the media. I’m trying to open a discussion on the sexism of this campaign and everyone accuses me of hating men. If you talk about it at all you’re demonized, as I have been. I’ve BEEN open to a discussion…a discussion that doesn’t include why I’m a man hater and a cunt, and should go have bastard children. How childish is that? You can say I’m fixated on sexism just like I can say many of you are obviously unwilling to have an open discussion on the sexism in this campaign and why it matters for women of EVERY COLOR and ethnicity, black, white and LATINA :P. You can only fixate on racism. Like I said, race is a factor everyone has talked about over and over and its an important topic. I wish that people would at least be open to a female talking about the sexist language that has been used against Hillary without the female being a cunt.

We can end this debate right now. Can you prove 100% that blacks only voted for Obama because he is black? If not, your point is no longer valid and has no bearings on him becoming the presumptive nominee soon. So please, with your negativity, give it a break!!!

I’m called a cunt and a bitch and you have the audacity to call ME negative. Please.

No one can prove the intention of those voting for one candidate, just liek you can’t prove that the voters who were white voted overwhelmingly for Hillary in kentucky and west virginia because they were racist, which a hell of a lot of people here seemed to assume. But you cant deny there is a component in almost all blacks voting for obama who is black. one group of people voting for a person who is their race almost unanimously has NO RACIAL COMPONENT? I’m sorry, I don’t believe it. And i’m not even saying there’s nothing wrong with it. Mitt Romney won 95% of the vote in Utah because he was mormon, though the exit polls said his religion didn’t matter. John Kennedy won the Catholic vote overwhelmingly being the first Catholic. So I think it’s pretty obvious, and like i said, there really isn’t anything wrong with it.

what i don’t understand is this complete hatred of anyone who dares bring up sexism in this race. I’m still having trouble understanding why it’s so hard to talk about without being called a bitch/cunt/ho. Why can’t we talk about sexism without even bringing up race, and why one group has it worse than another? I’m just wondering why that is…

Ms Dynomite,

There have been several media reporters who have said disparaging remarks against Obama because he was African American. One only needs to flip to Faux news aka. Fox news. However, their remarks were subtle, cheap but hidden. (I hope this answer your question). From the coverage I’ve seen, they seem to support Hillary. Bare in mind that Fox news catters to those “bitter white folks” Obama’s been talking about.

There’s a clear difference between women and African Americans: racial tone is one of them but another is….brace yourself and read this carefully…PC police (that is…the POLITICAL “CORRECT” police).

Do you want to know why mainstream media can permit themselves to say sexist remarks? Its because women do not help themselves either. If any media figure publicly denigrated African Americans…they would lose their jobs…literally. This has yet to happen to women. Women have not banded together to fight since the 1960s. The 1960’s have passed…there are other realities that women must face; but if they cannot band together than what is the use? Women should be standing together in rows against abortion. If women banded together, there should not be any video hoes, possibly prostitution. With other races, including your own, a hit to one is a hit to the other.

CL made me cut my long post short…Sorry if this was too long, I just had to express myself :).

134.

ms dynomite

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 /

@131 so glad you can see now!!

@133, this is a problem that really needs to be talked about I believe. I think women as a whole, black women included, would benefit greatly from seeing a woman being the President. Little girls everywhere of every color would look at Hillary and say “you know what, I don’t have to shake my ass for a camera. I can be intelligent, I can be strong and I can be anything I want to be.” I think women of all races should stand together because sexism is thrown at all women of all colors, just as all minorities face discrimination.

someone said obama will be better on minority issues. I disagree. Just because he is a minority doesn’t mean he will be better on those issues. Because he is black, I think he may feel LESS pressure to address minority issues. It’s just like Obama not wanting to go to the black american summit while hillary did, or go to the MLK celebration in tennesse while hillary and even mccain did. The truth is, he doesnt want to be identified too closely with being the “black people’s candidate” and I believe will go out of his way to not address minority issues too much. However, it appears african americans are ok with that. Hillary on the other hand has always shown that she has a committment to minority issues.

Hillary has always been good on women’s issues and black and latina women’s issues. It was Hillary Clinton, NOT Barack Obama, who said at a debate on black women and aids, “If AIDS were the number one cause of death among young white women in this country, their would be a national outrage.”

135.

bella

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 /

And you have served to prove the point that several of us have been trying to show to you by citing Hilary Clintons comment on AIDS Ms Dynomite. You have slowly but surely shown that race issues in AMERICA trump gender issues. Hilary’s statement shows that if white women were dying of aids as a nation we would have paid more attention but since it is an epidemic differentially affecting the American people with the main adverse effects on the black community particularly the black woman, we as a nation have responded less vigorously

But at least you are admitting hillary “demon-spawn, satan-worshipping, racist white bitch, kkk member” clinton said this.

yes, it is true. minorities get the short end of the stick. But can we finally admit that women (black women, latina women, white women) in society are degraded too, as we have seen just by me talking about sexism, im a cunt.

I have yet to hear why there is never any outrage about the sexism in the campaign. Black women latina and white women should be equally offended by it. And it doesn’t have to be compared with how bad africn american have it either. Lets as women discuss why its ok for us to be called bitches, and even a former first lady and respected senator can be called that on tv and no outrage at all.

All I can say is that my mother raised me to be a strong and beautiful boricua female and I do not apologize for speaking about the double standard in the media when it comes to how someone looks, someone sounds, someone laughs, someone’s wrinkles, and how someone simply looks at her competitor, all of which have been discussed in regard to hillary clinton.

CL cut me short.

To Ms Dynomite,

What I was trying to say, before I got cut my CL, was that: The realities of an African American woman and a white woman are not the same; therefore, it is completely ridiculous for me to stand behind woman who does not understand my tribulations. I do not understand her tribulations either.

And as people of different races, I think we can all agree that the issues of our races always supercede our own gender issues because we were raised as (latina, black, asian…etc…) first before being a woman.

146.

sowhat12345678

Wednesday, May 28, 2008 /

And another thing,

Lets keep things in greater perspective. Benzanir Bhutto was elected in a middle eastern country which, supposedly, refuses (or never even gave) women rights. Hijab or not she was elected. The philippines’ president is a woman. Liberia’s president is also a woman. Segolene Royal,a woman, nearly won the french presidency.

I personally think that in regards to woman’s issues, we’ve moved a step forward (unlike what you are insinuating). Isn’t Nancy Pelosi the leader of the House….she happends to have a vagina…I have not heard anybody call her a bitch. Whats the difference between these women and Hilary?….CLASS! And they happen to be tough, truthful and persuasive. I don’t think people hate Hilary because she’s a woman…they hate her because she’s Hilary!

http://www.houstonpress.c...rack-obama-screamed-at-me

“Obama has spent his entire political career trying to win the next step up. Every three years, he has aspired to a more powerful political position.
He was just 35 when in 1996 he won his first bid for political office. Even many of his staunchest supporters, such as Black, still resent the strong-arm tactics Obama employed to win his seat in the Illinois Legislature.
Obama hired fellow Harvard Law alum and election law expert Thomas Johnson to challenge the nominating petitions of four other candidates, including the popular incumbent, Alice Palmer, a liberal activist who had held the seat for several years, according to an April 2007 Chicago Tribune report.
Obama found enough flaws in the petition sheets — to appear on the ballot, candidates needed 757 signatures from registered voters living within the district — to knock off all the other Democratic contenders. He won the seat unopposed.
“A close examination of Obama’s first campaign clouds the image he has cultivated throughout his political career,” wrote Tribune political reporters David Jackson and Ray Long. “The man now running for president on a message of giving a voice to the voiceless first entered public office not by leveling the playing field, but by clearing it.”"

Not a typical politician? LOL!
