POLITICS: HILLARY’S BAD DAY
Monday, May 26, 2008
On Friday, Sen. Hillary Clinton explained to the editorial board of South Dakota’s Sioux Falls Argus-Leader why she remains in the race for the Democratic nomination: “My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don’t understand it.”
The New York Times called it one of Clinton’s worst days. Bill Burton, campaign spokesman for Sen. Barack Obama, said “Senator Clinton’s statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign.”
The Clinton campaign countered that “she was simply referencing her husband in 1992 and Bobby Kennedy in 1968 as historic examples of the nominating process going well into the summer. Any reading into beyond that would be inaccurate and outrageous.”
Clinton also issued the following, a departure from her campaign’s initial response:
“Earlier today I was discussing the Democratic primary history and in the course of that discussion mentioned the campaigns that both my husband and Senator Kennedy waged in California in June 1992 and 1968 and I was referencing those to make the point that we have had nomination primary contests that go into June. That’s a historic fact.
The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy and I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that, whatsoever. My view is that we have to look to the past and to our leaders who have inspired us and give us a lot to live up to, and I’m honored to hold Senator Kennedy’s seat in the United States Senate from the state of New York and have the highest regard for the entire Kennedy family.”
Regarding what they call Clinton’s “inexcusable outburst,” the New York Times editorial board said “she could, at least, have apologized. Instead, she issued one of those tedious non-apology apologies in which it sounds like the person who is being offended is somehow at fault: ‘I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the Kennedy family was in any way offensive.’”
What are your thoughts?

She is still showing her true colors. She is a liar. Bill Clinton had won in April of 1992. He had 3 times as many delegates as the nearest comeptitor in April there was no doubt who was going to win the nomination in April. Again, she pretends that Bobby Kennedy had been running this long drawn out campaign and then was assassinated in June when in fact he had only been running for 6 weeks when he was shot. I think she is only capable of telling lies and giving half-azz apologies. She says she doesn’t owe Obamaa an apology because she wasn’t talking about him. Sometimes it is the appearance of wrongdoing that does the harm. I personally have lost all respect for her.

A total bullshit apology to me. She should have just said that Kennedy won the California nomination in June…or maybe she should have just stopped after Bill.
But she wants this thing too damn much and her true colors are showing. I was on the fence before, but it looks like Obama will be the lesser of two evils.

I MG I think the point of the of the comment was that it contest goes into the mid summer and if there were a chance for her to still pull it off why not try. You have to remember that the war its self in the 90’s was not unpopular as much as Bush policies. If it were Obama I would hope that his supporters would do the samething if he were in her shoes. That is the purpose of the contest. I think Hillary and Berry Obama are full of shit but hey people like them. There are people that are so dependant on the government that the think that more government is just what we need. You have to give it to her though, she not afraid to say whats on her mind. You got to respect that.

Hillary Clinton may not be the most admirable candidate at this moment in time, but she still has over one million supporters. And I believe she’s choosing to continue for them; as not to slap them in the face by just quitting and dropping out.
She’s putting her hope in psychology, not in math. Numerically, she has no chance in winning, but by the primaries, it’s very possible that she might bring up the fact that she’s won a lot of the big, key states that it would take to win the general election - buying her a few more superdelegates.
But if it’s meant for Senator Obama to win, he will. Whether or not it’s this summer or fall.

This bitch gone crazy… for her to make reference to an assasination at a time like this is basically her calling for a hit on Obama. She’s already come right out and asked for the white vote and now this. If anything happens to Obama she should be bitch slapped by Michelle Obama for trying to plant that seed in the hate filled minds of racist murderers (which we know are still alive and kicking). This is an all time low for Hillary. She’s one desperate hater and she will be a danger to the world if she is elected. This type of impulsive, hate mongering thinking has no business leading the greatest nation on earth … if you believe the hype!

Hillary’s comment could be taken either way–but I think the larger issue is that the woman is so completely inappropriate in the statements that she makes. She repeatedly shows a lack of wisdom and quite frankly a lack of intelligence.
She laughs inappropriately, she makes “sideways” remarks and tries to explain them away, she OUTRIGHT LIES (about being under fire in Bosnia) and then brushes it off like we didn’t all hear the lie.
She is also lying when she says “my opponent and his camp” are trying to push her out of the race. His camp has repeatedly said she should stay in.
To top it all off, she has never, in all of the years she has been in and around politics, through the scandals of her husband’s presidency, her own scandals regarding the real estate deals and refusing to release her records and then lying saying she didn’t have them when they were sitting in her house, her lies about the sniper fire and this latest “slip” she has NEVER sincerely apologized for anything and so on top of her being a horrid LIAR, she doesn’t believe she is ever wrong.
She would be a worse nightmare than George Bush–who also, coincidentally, believes that the rules everyone else lives by do not apply to him.
She is George Bush as a woman….Slow..Inappropriate…constantly saying something stupid…refusing to follow the party rules….a liar…and lacks character.
I have always voted democratic but I swear that if she is the nominee I will vote for McCain.

First off, this is NOT a big deal. Second, I don’t think she was implying anything about Obama being assassinated! She was citing campaigns of two people that lasted into June. Ok fine, no big deal. BUT she didn’t have to say Kennedy was assassinated, she should have just mentioned their names and kept it moving.
I’m not going to get on the bad wagon to demonize her…because as you all will see the same thing will happen with Obama once he’s officially campaigning with McCain. We’ve got to make our own decisions and not let the media decide what we should be outraged about. The comment about Kennedy is the least of my concerns. It is as trivial as the comment that Obama said that upset working class white people.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT #21!
She mentioned the bobby kennedy assassination in an a way to insinuate that “hey, you never know, Bobby got killed in June, it could happen again… hint, hint”. Obama has already received many death threats and history teaches us that there are enough racist lunatics out there who will run with that idea (MLK, JFK, Bobby, Lincoln etc).
Also, she’s repeated these comments more than once, not just once in March. Mentioning Kennedy’s assassination and the primary competition against Obama in the same sentence is outta line! This June will mark the 40th anniversary of Bobby’s death, btw.)
IT’S a HUGE deal and everyone with an understanding of how real a possibility of an assassination of an inspiring leader is, should rightfully be OUTRAGED. She KNEW what she was doing.

YOU ALL BETTER GET USE TO HILLARY BECAUSE U KNOW THAT IF SHE WANTS VP SHE HAS IT RIGHT? SHE’S LEADING IN NUMBER OF VOTES CAST FOR HER. THE REASON OBAMA IS SO FAR AHEAD IS BECAUSE THE VOTERS OF FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN ARE BEING DISENFRANCHISED. THEY CAME OUT IN RECORD NUMBERS BUT THEIR VOTES DO NOT COUNT BECAUSE OF SOME STUPID DNC RULE ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT MOVING UP THEIR PRIMARY. I JUST WATCHED RECOUNT ON HBO AND MANY OF THE OBAMA PEOPLE SOUND LIKE THE BUS PEOPLE: “STOP THE RECOUNT!! WE NEED TO FOLLOW THE RULES!! THEIR VOTES SHOULDN’T COUNT!”

Yes, lets be honest. a woman with obama’s experience could never be considered for the title of president.
its really sad. if obama’s the nominee I may as well write in george mcgovern because thats what it will essentially be.
If hillary is winning swing states and is ahead in the popular vote and polls against mccain in ohio, florida, west virginia, arkansas.
obama is winning in the great democratic states of UTAH, NEBRASKA AND MISSISSIPPI. His entire delegate lead is from caucuses that no one attends but democratic activists who like Obama, and which had a 3% turnout.
obama is tied. TIED. in massachussetts because their first black governor, who talked a lot about “change, inspiration and hope” (and was managed by the same people, thats why many of their lines are the same) IS A DISASTER!!!!!! the people of massachusetts know better than to fall for “hope and change” talk again. can you imagine a democrat losing massachusets? well, it can happen with obama.
after all the hate thats been spewed at hillary, if obama does get the nomination, it will be enjoyable for many clinton supporters to watch him squirm under the heat. Please. If you think hillary was bad, YOU AINT SEEN NOTHIN YET! At least hiillary knew just how to fight dirty against the republicans. Barack “hope and change” Obama is “above” dirty politics, right?

Yes, I said demise. Hillary is to blame for the b.s. that comes out of her mouth and those that follow her will “yes” and “amen” everything she says and does. I don’t know whether or not Obama will get the presidency in November 2008, but all I can say is that another 4 years of McCain is another 4 years of Bush and it would be a disaster. tell me: how many stories did you see about people interrupting hillary rallies with men screaming “iron my shirt.” now tell me how many stories you would hve seen of whites screaming at obama “shine my shoes” repeatedly. It would be everywhere. tell me why its ok to say on a news station ‘obama did well because of black history month, and hillary did well because its bitch month’ and there not be total outrage? I will tell u why. because sexism is a-ok in our culture.

also, how are you going to get mad at hillary supporters for not supporting your candidate when obama supporters have called hillary every name in the book; everything from a racist kkk member to a bitch, a cunt, and all the other names. yup, hillary supporters are ok with that. we will come crawling back and fall in line with our nominee!!!

Ms. Dynomite, it goes both ways. Hillary is not a victim. If you feel the media has been unfair, contact them; let your voice be heard. Hillary supporters have selective vision and hearing. You see only “offenses” against her, but will never admit that Obama has been viciously attacked because of his color alone, and may I add, Rev. Wright. They are still commenting on that (Faux News). Also, did you hear what Liz Trotta from Faux News said about Obama? Number 9 posted the “youtube” link.
Also, may I add, his campaign workers were harassed and called ugly names by Hillary supporters. Many of her supporters have come out and said they will NOT vote for Obama because he is black. Hillary supporters have not called Obama supporters name, Ms. Dynomite? Please, if you will, frequent some other blogs and read what Hillary supporters have said. There are good and bad in both sides, but I’m sorry, I don’t care what you say, HILLARY IS NOT A VICTIM. There’s no conspiracy against her. She’s just reaping the fruits because she can’t keep her mouth shut. Anyway, this split in the Democratic party isn’t getting us anywhere.
Oh, another thing: Why when the race first started were black people in Hillary’s court? Obama didn’t start off with the lead. It’s because Hillary kept “mis-speaking” and putting her foot in her mouth. Some people see her for what she is. You have your opinion, and I have mine, and apparently we are both sticking to it.

The bulk of what needs to be said has been said. I am an Obama supporter at the moment but at the beginning either one of them was fair game. It was as the primary season unveiled itself that I became uneasy with the demeanor of Hilary. Even though we are blithely aware of the incessant lies politicians tell and the “do whatever it takes to get ahead” tactics, Hilary adds new meaning to those terms. She has single handedly divided a party has been anticipating a change from 8 long and painful years of Republican nuances. And if you disagree the democratic takeover of the House proves my point.
It is baffling to me that people cannot see the questionability of her commentary. She claims that the senator has been on her mind lately and that was why she mentioned it. The loop hole with that theory is that the news of the senator only came to light in more recent times and she made this comment first in March. I have to believe that she could have referenced the longevity of the campaigns of both her husband and Bobby, without re-hatching that he was assassinated. The very fact that she can make such a careless comment shows her insensitivity, her lack of tact and quite honestly her intent to win regardless.
As a politician or a supporter of one you need to be able to draw the line at what is appropriate and no matter how blinded you might be as a Hilary supporter it would be nothing short of a shame to not realize that her comments were instigating a repetition of a national atrocity or rather a number of them (JFK ,MLK ,Bobby , the list goes on )

Ms dynomite clearly you are fixated on your opinions and an openness to discussion is not in your repertoire. You believe sexism trumps over racism which I think is borderline comical seeing as we were not dehumanized off of gender the way individuals have been because of their race. And if you are talking about unspoken aspects of social issues, the racism we experience today is as silent as they come. Corporations and other social entities have mastered a means to propagate racism without violating the laws of the land that have banned racism. So racism is just as silent, even more silent than sexism.

@60, I’m waiting on examples of tv commentators making CLEAR racist comments toward Barack Obama without being called out and using racial language in describing why he is having his shortcomings. If you’ve watched the youtube videos I’ve posted it’s clear the sexist language has been prevalent. I’m waiting.
Sexism and racism should be rejected equally, but they are not in this society, as Hillary said. It is not ok in society be racist. Yes, there is discrimination on the basis of race but there is also discrimination on the basis of gender, and sexism is a part of almost every race. There is sexism in the black community, the white community, the latino community and society as a whole. You can ask many young girls today what they think about being called hos and bitches in music videos and its fine with them.

Unless you believe that Hilary Clinton is a tactless moron.
You are not the only Clinton supporter on this site. I think that Benazir Bhutto was a great leader. I think that Hilary Clinton is a pandering, dishonest, manipulative, selfish, entitled, power-hungry bitch. Nothing to do with their gender. Everything to do with their character.

@63, why is it ok to call Hillary a bitch? Why is it? I’m waiting for an answer as to why it’s ok for everyone, and even tv commentators, to describe Hillary Clinton, who has done lots of good works around the world, to call Hillary a “bitch.” If you were truthful about it, you would know that those words “manipulative, power hungry bitch” would only be thought of to describe a strong woman, and not a strong man. The fact of the matter is, if you are aggressive and a woman, no matter what color or race, you are identified as those things. Those adjectives are not commonly used for men. No one would call Obama “power hungry” though he chose to run for President not 1 and a half years after being elected to the senate with no major accomplishments, and there was nothing but media hype about him. Do you think a 45 year old woman of any color could run for the President with 1 and a half years experience in the Senate and not be labeled as power hungry, or would be a serious contender? hell no.
If it were easier for a black man than for a woman, why is it that theres an uproar at anything that is offensive that is racial said toward obama (which is very rare if ever) but there isn’t toward women, in the media? like i said, sexism is existence within culture and within every segment of the different communities in the u.s. It’s not ok to be seen as racist. Being seen as a misogynist is not a big deal.
this is relevant because i see nothing but comments about how hillary is a devil/bitch/satan from obama supporters, thinking hillary supporters should just fall in line if obama gets the nomination after all the vitriol said about hillary that was painful for people who support hillary, because we know her words are often taken out of context and any mistake she makes is jumped on by the media. the only thing obama has been called out on was rev. wright, which obama did damage control on and the media fawned all over it, and then him calling voters who live in small town ‘bitter.’
Youre being honest when you say that Obama has gotten worse media coverage than Hillary. Lol, yeah, ok..

She knew exactly what she was doing, she said the same thing in March and nobody caught it so she decided to give it another try. Everybody I know (Black and White) took the same think from that qoute as I did, she clearly was stating that Barack Obama could not make it (I refuse to say what she implied) till June.
And now Hillary wants to play the victim! Please there are people who won’t vote for her because she is a woman, but there are just as many if not more who won’t vote for Barack because he is Black and John McCain because he is old.
Barack and his family will continually be in my prayers, I hope Hillary didn’t trigger any thoughts to those “un educated , hard working americans, white, americans” that said race was the derterming factor in their votes in Ohio, West Virgina, Kentucky, and all the other states that refuse to move on past racial devisions.

@ MS DYNOMITE:
If you consider your grossly misfired banter an apt response to my post, then I seriously doubt you can muster the intelligence to engage in logical discourse. At least have enough integrity not to twist my words. Let’s make this simpler: I never made an allusion as to whom I support, so you can’t make wild assumptions. You follow me? Baby steps now.
Hilary Clinton is dishonest because she has continually proven to be a liar. She’s selfish because she has compromised her own party for personal gain. She is manipulative and overbearing because she feels the need assert to obliteration of an entire civilization, and then turn around and cry like an infant to garner support. She is spiteful and vindictive because she has proven to be a sore loser who will shamelessly renege from the baseline rules which she helped establish. She is power hungry because she overlooked obvious indiscretions counterproductive to the feminist agenda for a contrived stakehold in American politics. None of these is attributable to her gender, but all can be attributed to her distasteful character. I consider Hilary Clinton a bitch because she has proven to be one — no offense to her gender. I consider Benazir Bhutto to be a strong, aggressive, admirable leader who managed to champion constituencies without being a bitch.
Webster definition of the word “Bitch”: “A woman considered to be spiteful or overbearing.” What part of that is incongruent, or don’t you get?
You can argue that a black man has it easier than a white female in America, and most people would consider you deluded, overly emotional, not too bright or simply demented. You whine a lot and my zipper is stuck. I would ask someone to put something in your mouth but you’re probably allergic.

@ 70, you prove your sexism by your justification of calling her a bitch. Anyone who has to justify calling someone a bitch is a sexist and has their head too far up their own ass to really think straight. My post wasn’t intelligent? Oh, how very intelligent of you to tell me to stick something in my mouth, which is sexist and disgusting, further proving my point that its ok in our society to hate women and tell women to basically stick a dick in our mouths because a man doesn’t like what a woman has to say.
obama is nothing but a hypocritical, power hungry, arrogant amateur. He could have waited a few years to get SOME experience, but thought it best, one year after being in the senate, it was “his time” and chose to run, not really doing anything in the senate. His entire career has been about him running for the next higher office with the corrupt Chicago political machine pushing him to the next higher office. He is a hypocrite because he talks about “hope and unity,” asks everyone to play respectfully, then sends his surrogates out to do his dirty work while pretending to take the high road. Some of the worst attacks have come from Obama’s campaign. Brinigng up Bill Clinton getting a blowjob and saying that Hillary isn’t fit to stand over a dead soldier’s grave. He constantly wants to make anyone into a racist who disagrees with him, and his campaign sends out memos on why certain people are racist when that is not even the case at all. That was all Obama’s campaign. He is an amateur as it seems like he folds under attack. If anyone plays the victim it’s Obama’s campaign with everything.
If Obama cannot even handle Hillary he sure as hell will crack under the Republican’s pressure. ahahaha. =).

Look, both Candidates are full of shit. Hillary and Obama. Politicians are full of shit. Frankly I dont get this Obama fever thing goin on. Just about 80% of you would be riding Hillary’s dick if Obama wasn’t even a contender in this race.
Obama is seen as something unique being brought to American politics, and Im glad there’s someone who appears to give a damn about not just the wealthy, but all Americans alike, running for the Presidency. Unfortunately I know he is not Jesus/MLK/RFK/JFK/and Ghandi all rolled into one. No he cannot walk on water.
Obama got into politics in Chicago pulling some of the dirtiest schemes from the book. He is no better than Hillary and he said it himself. “No one’s hands are clean.”
So please quit it Obama Supporters. How is one man gonna pull this country together? It takes cooperation. Washington politicians need to just pull their bullshit aside and work together for the common good.
Hillary’s words were DREADFULLY taken out of context. They are trying to murder that woman. In no way was she implying that she wanted Obama assassinated. Where in context did she even refer to that man? If she owes anyone an apology its the Kennedy family. So she mentions assassination and suddenly she has to say Obama I’m sorry? You think HILLARY CLINTON doesnt get death threats too?
Obama campaign had no right to comment just like Hillary had no right to comment on Obama being an elitist (which is more than just a physical notion but a mental one as well. Some people do indeed carry a elitist mentality.)
Sexism exists heavily in America, its just more covert and widely accepted than racism. It exists everywhere, people just dont see it. Look at how many women are suffering under the hands of MEN in this country.
Im defending Hillary b/c the way they’re implying assassination is worse than Obama’s “bitter” speech. Both politicians are shitty in my book. But together I think they can help this country get back on track a little.
Its a shame the way people are brainwashed by the media. This story being one of them. Its not that serious people. My dad, an Obama-Hillary supporter, now thinks she wants to kill him.
USE YOUR BRAINS AND THINK PEOPLE. America is the one of the only countries where people have so much freedom, yet we can’t put it to our minds to actually use it..

This country NEEDS change it NEEDS to try something different. I swear if Hillary was to get the nomination I would vote for McCain straight up. Hillary plays dirty and I have no respect for the bitch.
Also when all of this is said and done the dumb bitch would have dropped out if Obama was fully white. I bet you ANYTHING she would have. She’s not winning the nomination, get over it. All you Hillary supporters can go kill yourselves. And it’s a FACT that Obama has the educated vote that’s all that matters. THE ONLY REASON Hillary is leading in the popular vote is becausa all of the RACIST UNEDUCATED REDNECKS that is only voting for her because she is white. Yes obviously most blacks are in support of Obama but mathematically IF every black person in this country WERE TO VOTE for Obama he still WOULD NOT WIN because there is only a WHOPPING 15% (if that) of African Americans in this country. @ 72, why is it that any time sexism is talked about that = man hating idiot. Are Obama supporters capable of having an intelligent discussion on society and the role of women without being called man-hating lesbos? No. Well, that’s just sad. Was Alicia Keys a man-hating lesbo when she talked about this. Some of you will probably say yes. Sad.
@ 73, Yes, it is clear to me that the Republicans would MUCH rather run against obama than hillary. Obama is a weak candidate, his coalition is made up of the kind that loses in landslides in past elections. And thank you, you know they would be all out for Hillary if Obama wasn’t in the race and she were doing the same thing to any other Democrat or Republican. At least you’re able to see that Obama is not all that the media tries to pretend that he is.
@ 75, smh. So sad you are clearly unable to debate without name calling, insults and hyperbole and outrageous statements that make no one but yourself look stupid. You would vote for mccain if Hillary were to get the nomination because she plays dirty? Please! Guess what, politics is a dirty game, if you didn’t know that, you’re about to see. Obama isn’t going to change that, and infact, he hasn’t done shit to change it as his campaign is just as dirty as Hillary, but at least Hillary isn’t pretending to be something she’s not, unlike Obama.

Let me dismantle the experience lie. Obama has just as much experience as Hillary in the area of politics. Her real experience occurred when she ran for senate in New York. Other than that, being married to Bill does not qualify her to be president.
Next, I don’t understand how anyone black or white alike can defend Hillary. First, she feels entitlted to the presidency because she’s white and her last name is Clinton. Hillary has insulted every demographic group that has voted for her and Obama. She claims that she can run because she can attract the “HARD WORKING WHITE VOTE.” In other words, she is dimissing the votes of all the people of color and the educated whites that have supported her. Now, I do believe that she experienced a horrible case of diarrhea when she made the JFK comment. She needs to get that Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright treatment with that comment. But again, the media continually panders to her.
Lets be for real, mathematically, she cannot win. Even if she won every delegate from here on in, she cannot win. She will get Pueto Rico, but she will not win South Dakota nor Montana because that’s Obama country. Also, she is willing to destroy the Democratic party in order to get her way. TYPICAL WHITE WOMAN (I want to roll with the big boys, but I don’t mind using my gender as a way to play the historical victim).

Ms. Dynomite, as a black woman I will never claim feminism because that is a platform meant for priviledged white women to discuss their claims while dismissing racism. Feminism started out with sound principles, but it evolved to a man-hating, lesbian teaching movement. There are some people that have lashed out a Hillary becuase of her gender, but gender does not and cannot trump race. White women still have something that black men and black women do not have and that’s white priviledge. UNTIL, Hillary gives up white priviledge, I do not want to hear about how badly she has it. You should not attack other posters.
Hillary has shown her dixie crat side a.k.a, undercover racism. HER campaign showed Obama dressed “like a Muslim” when she knew he practiced Chrisianity. HER campaign continues to alienate the black voting block by working with outdated civil rights leaders who have done nothing but pimp the black race (Rev. Jackson, Rev. Sharpton). HER campaign have continually said over and over again that Obama would not be receiving the priviledges if he were a WHITE male. HER campaign continues to play the race card. SHE labeled Obama an elitest despite the fact that she is richer than he. ALL of her policies that she has ever supported have failed. Name me one successful policy that she has supported. You cannot name one from NAFTA to the Iraq War. If experience gets me this, I don’t want it. SHE does not deserve the white house.

OOOOMMMMGGGGGG! Post # 72 was RIGHT ON. Use your brains people. Hillary was not planting a seed for Obama to be assasinated and the media KNOWS IT. Just like the media KNOWS the Clintons are not racist, yet you’ve got God knows how many black people who now believe they are racist against black people.
People are accusing Hillary of dividing the party and the country but it is stories like this being strategically placed that are dividing the party. Some media outlets are reporting stories because they may think they are helping Obama, but it is actually hurting his chances. I am a Hillary supporter and do not believe she was calling for his assasination. However going by the way this campaign season has been going, I am sure there are those on this very website who are convinced that is exactly what she was trying to do….infuriating both sides.
Though I support Hillary, both candidates have had their share of things being taken out of context and the media creating things in the public’s minds that the candidates did not mean at all. As poster #73 said, use your brains and think people!

@ Ms. Dynomite. You said “Obama is just as dirty as Hillary is”. This makes me question your reasons for supporting Hillary over Obama.
1.) Why do you choose to beleive that Hillary has been defamed more than Obama throughout this spectacle we call the primaries?
2.) It is painfully obvious this site is formed mainly of Obama supporters. That being said do you think it is wise or better yet productive to come here, of all venues to air your anti-Obama opinions.
3.) Do you feel that you are using A) opinionated or B) factual statements to support your ideas of Mrs Clinton?

Urbangurl please! I can assure you I’m the furthest thing from a lesbian or a “man-hater” but the fact is there has been acceptance of sexism on a level that is not acceptable when it comes to racism, and that just about proves that the culture at large is much more
democracy is hurting he democratic party? every state in the union getting a say is hurting the democratic party? like i said, a lot of obama people sound like the bush supporters in 2000 who tried over and over to end the process because they were a little bit ahead and prolonging not knowing who the president would be would be “harmful to uniting the nation.”

Poster # 88 but why should she apologize? If she was not planting seeds for his assasination, why would she apologize? This is just like the Geraldine Ferraro situation. She wasn’t being racist and she knew it, which is why she refuses to apologize for saying Obama would not be the front runner if he were not black. I am a black person myself and I agreed with her. Change nothing about Obama, except his skin color to white, and most black folks would be supporting Hillary Clinton. Oprah Winfrey more than likely would not have been on the campaign trail if Obama was a white man from Virginia. Because of such statments, people are being labeled racist.
This is another one of those situations in my eyes. There are a lot of people who know in there hearts Hillary was not trying to invite an assasination of Obama. Her apologizing for her words directly would be like admitting that was her motive. She wisely made the appropriate decision by apologizing to those who were offended and not for her words.

Hillary is quite smart. She knows what she is saying. She knows how people will perceive her statements (good or bad). She is using her words to pull racist voters. She is good at race-bating.
So to answer Ms Dynomite (Ms. Sexist) question… Most of her most recent public appearances have been some type of race-bating thus meaning she is pulling the race card thus meaning she has racist views thus meaning she is as racist as some of her statements that have little or nothing to do with the election (but only to force white hard working class voters to pay attention to Obama’s complexion vs. what type of candidate he is).

@ 94, how has she been playing the race card? Because she said she gets more white voters that are working class? Um, she was quoting from an associated press article, and IT’S TRUE. It’s an electability argument. Black voters vote for the Democrat 90+ % of the time in a general election (they make up a greater number in primaries) its the working class white people who swing an election.
@ 90 it’s been known that Obama sends his surrogates out to say outlandish things, such as bringing up Bill Clinton’s affairs, saying Hillary Clinton will do anything to get elected and has no morals (successful bullshit meme pushed that the media and a lot of black people suddenly bought when they hadn’t before), saying Hillary doesn’t deserve to lay the reife(sp?) over a dead soldier’s grave, and pushing Hillary’s Bosnia gaffe in the media through various memos (then pretending not to raise the issue), as well as sending out memos of why Hillary and Bill Clinton are racist. When Bill Clinton said Obama’s campaign pretending to always be against the Iraq war is a fairy tale (which it is, he said he didnt know how he would have voted in 04, and has voted exactly with Hillary when it comes to the war) he was labelled a racist, pushed by the Obama campaign in the media through various emails, when it was taken completely out of context. When this latest thing happened, the Obama campaign immediately said Hillary’s comments have no place in the campaign, then backed off pretending it had no role in pushing this story, because it doesnt want to piss off more Hillary supporters that they are going to need if they have any chance of winning.
Why should I have to pretend like I’m not for Hillary just because ConcreteLoop has a lot of Obama supporters and a pro-Obama political correspondent? I’ve been on concreteloop and since 05 and have never had a problem expressing my opinion about anything else, so whatever if some of you Obama supporters dont want to see the truth. You are hypocrites though because you KNOW your asses would be for Hillary and defending Hillary if Obama was anyone else. Most of you arent really for Obama because he’s “run a cleaner campaign” and will “bring us together” you and I know it’s because he has a black face.

Demand To DNC: Kick Hillary Out NOW !
Insinuates That Obama Could Be ASSASSINATED !
Now, things have gone way too far. Today, in an appearance in South Dakota, Hillary Clinton justified her reason for staying in the campaign by referring to the fact that presidential hopeful ‘Robert Kennedy was assasinated in June’…implying that the same could occur to Senator Obama. THIS IS SICK !!! Regardless of how the pundits try to spin this as just another misspeak, the statement speaks for itself and displays the diobolical mentality of Hillary Clinton.
It is unclear as to whether she is actually hoping that Obama would be killed, therefore giving her an open path to the Democratic nomination, or if she may be signaling her desire to some sick, warp minded homicidal maniac. Whichever be the case, her statement is automatic grounds for the Democratic National Committee headed by Howard Dean to demand that she remove herself from the race. If he does not, American Democrats should demand HIS stepping down !
This can not be tolerated!!! Regardless of who you are a supporter of, Hillary, Obama or McCain, ANYONE who would wish the death of another human being in order to win a political position is sick, dangerous, maniacal, deranged and totally mentally and morally unfit for any political position, particularly President or V.P. of the United States.

Then you have the Bitter Bitch Crew spouting off nonsense about sexism while willfully ignoring the extreme racial hatred institutionally leveled on their direct community. Their are some mentally sick slaves on this thread for sure.
You can always tell which man-hating black females have lacked positive male representation in their lives. MS. DYNOMITE, how’s that bitter life going? Just do us all a favor and don’t spawn another generation of bastard children who go on to take out their mother’s waywardness on innocent men that could care less.

This is a post I ran into. From a non-sexist, objective feminist:
“Thanks, Jill Iscol, for your service to women. As a former NOW state president and National NOW Board member, a former employee of NARAL, a strong supporter of Planned Parenthood and active in my community, I’ve been an active feminist my whole life. Except for Iraq, there isn’t a dime’s difference on policy positions between Obama and Clinton, and yet I switched my support from Hillary to Obama. I cannot express to you how dissapointed I am in Hillary’s campaign and the constant complaint that she represents women and the implication that she is doing it for us, not her. Maybe Hillary could have been elected President if she hadn’t married Bill Clinton, if she had divorced Bill Clinton, if her Iraq vote was different, if she hadn’t praised McCain while doubting Obama, if she hadn’t played the race card, if she hadn’t tried to change the rules half-way through the game. Hillary had her chance and blew it with her sense of inevitability, her patronizing snow shovels in Iowa, her out of control husband, her obnoxious spin doctors. Hillary may be a better women than her campaign but we’ll ever know that now. The fault lies were her decisions, not Obama’s success.” - Simone
This is what it looks like when one expresses their opinion without betraying their self- or man-hate.

@106, the fact that you feel it necessary to call women the Bitter Bitch Crew proves my point. You can’t have any rational discussion about it without using the word “bitch” to describe women, right? You talking about me being bitter and going to have bastard children proves that you have the intelligence of a 12 year old when it comes to making logical arguments, and only makes yourself look bitter and stupid. If anyone is bitter it’s you by your incohesive rant about bastard children and bitter bitches. I hope you know that Obama is not going to win without Hillary supporters and I think you should at least recognize that a large number of african americans are only supporting Obama because he’s black. Also, you saying “solidly indisputable” doesn’t make it solidly indisputable. Sorry bb. I would still like to know what news organization has made racist remarks about Obama that weren’t called out. Oh, you can’t, because there haven’t been any.

Ms. Dynomite, if it’s meant for Obama to win, there is nothing in h-e-double hockey sticks that is going to stop it. I have no control over what Hillary supporters do, and frankly, that carrot you all dangle over Obama supporters’ heads is getting quite wilted. Please, let’s stop the madness. If Hillary were in Obama’s place, her parrots would keep their beaks closed and the whining would stop.
Anyway, you say that blacks are voting for Obama because he is black. Oh, really? When Obama first got on the campaign trail, Hillary had a large black following, did she not? Obama didn’t start out with the majority black vote, did he? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Anyway, this tireless diatribe isn’t getting us anywhere. At the end of the day, we won’t know who the next POTUS will be until November, and I don’t have the energy nor the time to waste debating it anymore because neither of us is going to change our minds. Have a great day.

@Ms. Dynomite,
Your statements sound very ignorant. There have been black candidates before of which did not receive the majority of black votes. Your famous one-sided argument is not working.
Are you assuming that all Blacks are dumb and can not choose a candidate based off of qualifications? If you believe that to be true, then you need to stop expressing your views on black owned blog-sites (because you will not be able to change peoples’ mines).
Could it be you that is blinded by color? Are you and all the whites that are voting for Hillary color struck and only voting for her because she is White? If the question sounds ridiculous to you; just think what your statement about blacks voting only because he is black sound to us!
Some people of color who decided to vote for Obama because he seems to be honest and they feel he has more appeal.
Why would the average black person want to vote for someone that on several occassions tried to race-bate? That is like a slap in the face.
At one point she had the black vote over Obama. She destroyed her own fate. Now she nor her bitter supporters are going to be able to reverse the damage she caused her own campaign.
Lastly, blacks usually vote the same way whether it is a black candidate they choose or a white candidate. Examples: Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore (just to name a few) and the list goes on…
So, please stop babbling on with your non-sense, and find another reason…

Don’t talk about logic when you lack basic comprehension skills. I never called women bitches. I called you, MS DYNOMITE, a bitch. A whiny ass, dumb bitch to be exact.
The funniest part is you actually think I’m an Obama supporter. Further, you assume that African Americans are supporting Obama because he has a “black face.” So in your emotional little world, only AA voters that are supportive of Clinton have a rational underpinning to their vote. You ought to applaud yourself for that bit of intelligence.
You’re obviously incensed by my remarks because they’re dead-on. I would like to see you dispute my assertion about your history with black men. Actually, don’t. You should be focused on thinking your way out of your virtuous ruckus of man hate. If you chose to perpetuate the cycle, be my guest. Stupid cunt.

I could see if he were getting 60% to 40% saying there’s no racial component in this, or even 65% to 35% but 96% to 4%???? You’re saying almost all african americans are voting for obama because they believe obama will bring change and hillary wont? The fact that Hillary had a large chunk of black voters until Obama won Iowa seems to make the case that many ARE voting for Obama because he is african american and saw he had an actual chance of winning. I’m not even saying it’s wrong, but I believe it’s disingenuous to say he’s getting near unanimous black support is simply because they like his message better. BTW it was Michelle Obama who said that black america would “wake up” after Iowa and support him.

I love how people believe that somehow the black vote is keeping Obama alive despite the fact that blacks only make up 13% of the total US population. Why were Obama supporters only questioned why the pollsters began to see that blacks were supporting Obama? Why are blacks always called out for supporting black folks, but whites are never called on their white priviledge? Many blacks originally voted for Hillary because they did not believe that Obama had a chance of winning….Now lets get real. Its sad that in 2008, we still have to wait and see what white folk do before we support our own. History has proven that white voters support white candidates.

@120, no one said that the black vote was only keeping Obama alive. I think it’s fine if african americans want to support obama for racial pride reasons. I’m simply saying I think it’s at least partly dishonest to say that he is getting almost 100% support from african americans voters simply because they support his message more. White supporters have supported Obama and Hillary. The rednecks in WV may have supported Hillary b/c she was white, but whites have supported him in states like Oregon, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and he will get an overwhelming victory in Montana, a state with no african americans.

urban chic I could not have said it better myself. There is no doubt that this race is racially polarized but for different reasons. Most blacks who are Obama supporters have flocked his way because he is the candidate that has shown the most concern and understanding for minority issues, understanding being the all important word. On the other hand, the working class, non-college educated white voterswho have refused to vote for Obama have done so not because of their fear of his lack of expertise but mostly because of their lack of openness to change. Case in point, the interviews from West Virginia and Kentucky post their primaries show the close minded nature of some of these individuals and their unwillingness to vote for a Black man.
Ms Dynomite as I said yesteday you represent the very ideology of an unwillingness to accept change or at the least be open to a discussion. You are fixated on your unilateral views than sexism is a bigger atrocity than racism and such delusional views cannot be sorted out by a board discussion. And I AM THE ONE NOT CAPABLE OF MAKING A RATIONAL DISCUSSION????? riiiiiight.
all we ever talk about is the race issue on here and in the media. I’m trying to open a discussion on the sexism of this campaign and everyone accuses me of hating men. If you talk about it at all you’re demonized, as I have been. I’ve BEEN open to a discussion…a discussion that doesn’t include why I’m a man hater and a cunt, and should go have bastard children. How childish is that? You can say I’m fixated on sexism just like I can say many of you are obviously unwilling to have an open discussion on the sexism in this campaign and why it matters for women of EVERY COLOR and ethnicity, black, white and LATINA :P. You can only fixate on racism. Like I said, race is a factor everyone has talked about over and over and its an important topic. I wish that people would at least be open to a female talking about the sexist language that has been used against Hillary without the female being a cunt.

I’m called a cunt and a bitch and you have the audacity to call ME negative. Please.
No one can prove the intention of those voting for one candidate, just liek you can’t prove that the voters who were white voted overwhelmingly for Hillary in kentucky and west virginia because they were racist, which a hell of a lot of people here seemed to assume. But you cant deny there is a component in almost all blacks voting for obama who is black. one group of people voting for a person who is their race almost unanimously has NO RACIAL COMPONENT? I’m sorry, I don’t believe it. And i’m not even saying there’s nothing wrong with it. Mitt Romney won 95% of the vote in Utah because he was mormon, though the exit polls said his religion didn’t matter. John Kennedy won the Catholic vote overwhelmingly being the first Catholic. So I think it’s pretty obvious, and like i said, there really isn’t anything wrong with it.
what i don’t understand is this complete hatred of anyone who dares bring up sexism in this race. I’m still having trouble understanding why it’s so hard to talk about without being called a bitch/cunt/ho. Ms Dynomite,
There have been several media reporters who have said disparaging remarks against Obama because he was African American. One only needs to flip to Faux news aka. Fox news. However, their remarks were subtle, cheap but hidden. (I hope this answer your question). From the coverage I’ve seen, they seem to support Hillary. Bare in mind that Fox news catters to those “bitter white folks” Obama’s been talking about.
There’s a clear difference between women and African Americans: racial tone is one of them but another is….brace yourself and read this carefully…PC police (that is…the POLITICAL “CORRECT” police).
Do you want to know why mainstream media can permit themselves to say sexist remarks? Its because women do not help themselves either. If any media figure publicly denigrated African Americans…they would lose their jobs…literally. This has yet to happen to women. Women have not banded together to fight since the 1960s. The 1960’s have passed…there are other realities that women must face; but if they cannot band together than what is the use? Women should be standing together in rows against abortion. If women banded together, there should not be any video hoes, possibly prostitution. With other races, including your own, a hit to one is a hit to the other.

@131 so glad you can see now!!
@133, this is a problem that really needs to be talked about I believe. I think women as a whole, black women included, would benefit greatly from seeing a woman being the President. Little girls everywhere of every color would look at Hillary and say “you know what, I don’t have to shake my ass for a camera. I can be intelligent, I can be strong and I can be anything I want to be.” I think women of all races should stand together because sexism is thrown at all women of all colors, just as all minorities face discrimination.
someone said obama will be better on minority issues. I disagree. Just because he is a minority doesn’t mean he will be better on those issues. Because he is black, I think he may feel LESS pressure to address minority issues. It’s just like Obama not wanting to go to the black american summit while hillary did, or go to the MLK celebration in tennesse while hillary and even mccain did. The truth is, he doesnt want to be identified too closely with being the “black people’s candidate” and I believe will go out of his way to not address minority issues too much. However, it appears african americans are ok with that. Hillary on the other hand has always shown that she has a committment to minority issues.
Hillary has always been good on women’s issues and black and latina women’s issues. It was Hillary Clinton, NOT Barack Obama, who said at a debate on black women and aids, “If AIDS were the number one cause of death among young white women in this country, their would be a national outrage.”

Hilary’s statement shows that if white women were dying of aids as a nation we would have paid more attention but since it is an epidemic differentially affecting the American people with the main adverse effects on the black community particularly the black woman, we as a nation have responded less vigorously

yes, it is true. minorities get the short end of the stick. But can we finally admit that women (black women, latina women, white women) in society are degraded too, as we have seen just by me talking about sexism, im a cunt.
I have yet to hear why there is never any outrage about the sexism in the campaign. Black women latina and white women should be equally offended by it. And it doesn’t have to be compared with how bad africn american have it either. Lets as women discuss why its ok for us to be called bitches, and even a former first lady and respected senator can be called that on tv and no outrage at all.
All I can say is that my mother raised me to be a strong and beautiful boricua female and I do not apologize for speaking about the double standard in the media when it comes to how someone looks, someone sounds, someone laughs, someone’s wrinkles, and how someone simply looks at her competitor, all of which have been discussed in regard to hillary clinton.

And as people of different races, I think we can all agree that the issues of our races always supercede our own gender issues because we were raised as (latina, black, asian…etc…) first before being a woman.

The philippines’ president is a woman. Liberia’s president is also a woman. Segolene Royal,a woman, nearly won the french presidency.
I personally think that in regards to woman’s issues, we’ve moved a step forward (unlike what you are insinuating). Isn’t Nancy Pelosi the leader of the House….she happends to have a vagina…I have not heard anybody call her a bitch. Whats the difference between these women and Hilary?….CLASS! “Obama has spent his entire political career trying to win the next step up. Every three years, he has aspired to a more powerful political position.
He was just 35 when in 1996 he won his first bid for political office. Even many of his staunchest supporters, such as Black, still resent the strong-arm tactics Obama employed to win his seat in the Illinois Legislature.
Obama hired fellow Harvard Law alum and election law expert Thomas Johnson to challenge the nominating petitions of four other candidates, including the popular incumbent, Alice Palmer, a liberal activist who had held the seat for several years, according to an April 2007 Chicago Tribune report.
Obama found enough flaws in the petition sheets — to appear on the ballot, candidates needed 757 signatures from registered voters living within the district — to knock off all the other Democratic contenders. He won the seat unopposed.
“A close examination of Obama’s first campaign clouds the image he has cultivated throughout his political career,” wrote Tribune political reporters David Jackson and Ray Long. “The man now running for president on a message of giving a voice to the voiceless first entered public office not by leveling the playing field, but by clearing it.”"
Not a typical politician? LOL!
