POLITICS: IT’S NOT OVER, IS IT?

Friday, May 9, 2008

According to the May 19th issue of Time, Sen. Barack Obama has refused to play by the old political rules and he’s about to be rewarded for it.

On Thursday, Obama sat down with NBC’s Brian Williams who asked if he is the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party. Despite having more pledged delegates, popular votes, states won and money raised (and now superdelagates), Obama replied, “Not yet. I will be if Sen. Clinton decides not to go on or if we complete these six contests and we are ahead as we are now.” Check out the full interview.

Obama also made an appearance at the Capitol, which his campaign described as an opportunity to create an image of Sen. Obama as the soon-to-be-nominee. Elated members on the House floor seemed to agree, according to a NY Times article.

He has made no effort to pressure Sen. Hillary Clinton to end her run. In recent interviews, he has even praised her as a formidable candidate who could not yet be counted out. One organization, however, is not too happy with her.

On Friday, Color of Change denounced the Clinton campaign for stoking racial division in what they described as “a last-ditch effort to convince superdelegates to hand her the nomination, even as she faces almost sure defeat among voters”. With six contests left offering a total of 274 delegates, Obama will likely secure the necessary 2,025 delegates needed to win the nomination, and Color of Change wants to make sure that superdelegates don’t overrule the choice of voters.

Last week, more than 30,000 petitioners signed an open letter to party leaders and superdelegates asking them to “reject the idea that the nomination can be won with a strategy that preys on racism, sows division, and disenfranchises millions of voters”.

Clinton needs to accept the fact that Obama will be the democratic nominee.

Anyone who believes that Clinton should continue on at this point is simply being sympathic to her, knowing full well that there is no way for her to make the case at the convention for her nomination.

Lord. Yes it is impossible for hillary to win.

If you watch when they do primaries, the guy thats always at the map (I forget his name) showed us what it would be like if she took the remaining states. Obama will still be ahead. He even gave her the majority of the rest of the superdelegates. She still was behind.

Obama will win. Now, he’s gotten another 4 superdelegates…. 2 of which were hers. Please believe. Obama has this.

YES WE CAN and WE WILL. Win that is, Obama will win. He has endured the ugliness and the negativity and the betrayal of the last few months and weeks. This only proves his resilience and his strong leadership abilities. Hillary represents the old, not the new and definitely not change–I pray he will not select her as the VP. I know she was the presumptive nominee almost from the moment Bill left office and she just knew she would have it, but she didn’t know about Barack and hey this is America where anything can happen.

It’s not over until Barack has enough delegates to clinch the nomination and he does not have enough delegates yet. If Hillary wins the next remaining states, the decision will be left up to the superdelegates. If Barack wins the nomination he needs Hillary’s supporters to vote for him in the general election. If he does not win over her voters, he will lose to Mccain in November.

Obama All the way!!

It really doesnt matter what anyone says..CHECK the facts people. The majority of Americans want Obama and dammit thats who we should get. Time and Time again they said he could not would not be able to do it but he keeps proving them wrong! They thought he was through because he unfortunately had an ignorant person in his life trying to bring him down. YES! we all know that he is a politician, but please tell me people what is wrong with us wanting to believe in change? Whats wrong with believing in hope?

Check out TISA’s “Vote Obama” video ft. Chris Brown, Kanye West, and Jay Z. I wonder if this video is helping the campaign.

Enough politics for now, Obama is a sexy older man. He could read to me and get me in the zone. Not the 2-3 but the 6-9. He is all that a black man should be.

GO OBAMA!!!!! I live in a NC and I am proud we came out a represented! What irritates me the most is the polling they are doing now shows that about 50% of Clinton backers would not vote for Obama if he is the Democratic nominee. That shows the divisiveness of her campaign and the fact they are SORE LOSERS!! Some said they would vote for McCain or not vote at all. Yeah, thats the way to go, get a Republican back in office!!! That way of thinking is SO backwards its not even funny. TO ALL THE HILLARY SUPPORTERS………..ITS OVER, LIVE WITH IT!!
