Happily married couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were spotted leaving Waverly Inn restaurant, after having dinner there with LA Reid and others. According to paparazzi, they proudly displayed their new wedding rings to the cameras as Nick helped to cover his wife from the rain.

On getting married so quickly:
Nick: In our minds, it was a love-at-first-sight thing. Since we’ve been together, we’ve been inseparable.
Mariah: I don’t think anyone realized what we already know–that we were going to get married.
On having kids (!):
Mariah: It’s part of the whole purpose of getting married. I’d just want our children to have the best childhood and upbringing they possibly could.
The proposal:
On April 25 Cannon took Carey to the roof of her N.Y.C. apartment to see the Empire State Building, lit pink and lavender to honor her album E=MC². As he often did, he gave her a Ring Pop–candy shaped like a big jewel. But inside the wrapper was a 17-carat pink-diamond ring created by Jacob & Co.’s Jacob Arabo. Her reaction? “He had ribbons around it, so I said, ‘I think mine’s broken,’” says Carey. When he dropped to one knee, “she ran away and got all shy.” he says. Finally, she said yes–twice. Cannon, who filmed it all, proposed again to get a perfect take, this time on a helicopter. “That,” says Carey, “was beautiful.”

I am all for the institution of marriage and I truly hope that they realize the shark infested waters that they are treading in. There are those who will look for anything to say about them and there are those who will be designated to target them in the “faithfulness” department.
When one is a celebrity, your every move is watched and Nick will have some extremely beautiful women coming on to him just to get a headline and attention at the expense of his status.
This scenario has played out time and time again so I pray that they keep it airtight like the Carters (Jay & B)

I’m glad to say that almost everyone here on the comments page actually agrees that these two really do look in love. I think it was a perfect match. I’m tired of hearing people say about how fine Mariah is and that why the hell is she married to Nick Cannon. I am a firm believer that opposites attract and I honestly think that there marriage is genuine. Hell look at Will and Jada, I think they only dated for about 6 months before they tied the knot and 10 years later and their still together; compared to his first wife he dated for damn near 3 years, and they divorced about 6 months after they got married. Hell, I believe in love at first life and if it was meant to be, and it’s in the stars for them, then congratulations to them both. Quite frankly, I think they make a damn cute couple, and I have a feeling that they will have some beautiful ass kids….
