The jury viewed the tape yesterday. His defense team is saying it wasn’t him. They’re claiming the R has a huge, unmissable mole on his back and that the person in the tape doesnt have the mole. They’re saying its R’s head on somebody elses body. They’re also saying that the girl in the tape was a prostitute. The prosecution will not be calling her as a witness. I saw the tape when it hit the bootleg circuit when all of this first came out. I remember being fully convinced that was R on the tape. I didnt think it was doctored or anything like that. Before the trial started I thought for sure he would be found guilty once they saw the tape. Now Im not so sure. Some of the people on the jury looked like they believed what his defense team were saying.

Kelly is saying that he is not the man in this tape and the presumable victim in the tape is claiming that she is not the female in the tape, so even if the prosecution calls a number of witness’ to say yes I believe it’s him and yes I believe it’s her, if they are both denying it and there is no REAL proof, i.e. a witness who was actually there during the time of the taping or a witness who was told by either R. Kelly or the girl, then he will walk. Unfortuanately, him marrying Aaliyah or having sex with other underage women (besides the girl on the tape) is not what he is on trial for. Therefore, the jury can only look at the ACTUAL evidence (the tape) for which he is being charged for, and if he has a birthmark that does not match or vice vera that could destroy the entire case for the prosecution.
And I heard that the girl being named in the tape is actually part of R. Kelly’s defense team and she’s claiming that it is not her. This thing could go either way……..

I really think RKelly is going to do some time, seriously. But word is during opening statements the tape was shown and they said he looked very comfortable ( which of sign guilt).

Jurors are suppose to go by the evidence and if the only Physical evidence they have is the tape and the FBI is unsure that it was Robert, then it makes their case a little unstable. Even if other people testify that it is Robert and if people try to identify the girl who’s claiming to NOT be the victim in the tape, how will the prosecution prove otherwise? If I tell someone “no that’s not me” how can you prove that it is me?
That within itself is reasonable doubt and legally if the defense can prove reasonable doubt, the defendant is found not guilty.

The way I see it, he should not be alone in this trial. Where in the hell is this girl’s parents because they should be on trial too. As a minor, it is their responsibility to take FULL account of this child’s actions and whereabout and since they didn’t, they should also be in court with R. The parents half-ass raise them and when they turn out to be whores, then they want to get mad and sue. I did not watch the tape, a friend of mine was given it from another friend to watch without telling us what was on it. After we saw what looked to be R. Kelly then two nude girls walk in, we were in shock, digusted, and immediately took the tape out and destroyed it. Both my friend and I have little girls. Ex-friend of alleged victim identifies her, R. Kelly as those on tape

The former best friend of the alleged victim in the R. Kelly child pornography case testified Wednesday that she recognized the singer and the girl on the sex tape shown in court and that she spent time with them at various locations, including his home.

When asked by Assistant State’s Atty. Shauna Boliker what her initial impressions were after viewing the tape, Simha Jamison said, “I thought she looked like my best friend …”

She said the man on the tape is R. Kelly.

Jamison, who is now 24, said she and the girl were inseparable since the summer before 4th grade. She said when they were about 13 or 14, they got matching mullet haircuts, a hairdo Jamison said she recognized on the tape. The hairstyle and the face of the girl in the video convinced her that it was her former best friend on the tape, she said.

at #87. While I agree that people no matter how young these days know what they’re doing. I still don’t think they can be accountable. R. Kelly is a grown ass man. Do you know how many grown ups are propositioned by young kids but since they are grown and know right from wrong and are “scared as hell” of going to jail. They usually say no. Now Mr. Pied Piper not only decides to say “hell yea I’m down for screwing this young ass girl” but he also decides to TAPE IT with his nasty ass. C’mon now. He was asking for it. And this is his penalty. So lets not try to blame it on kids who are constantly trying to defy their parents and decide on their own what’s right and wrong when there are thse grown ups who make their own decisions and decide to do the wrong thing. Lets not try to turn this around. We all know that as grown ups, we’re supposed to be teaching, not screwing booboo.

I couldn’t agree with number 52 more. He needs to be punished for his wrongdoings. Now I’ve seen the tape, and the way that the incident was exploited, I was expecting to see a little girl with pigtails in her hair…or some evidence that she was young. First off, she had a straight haircut style…most teenagers wear a ponytail or something. Some teenagers are very stylish and get their hair done by beauticians…and this makes them look older. So going off her appearance alone, you can’t tell that she’s under 18. Secondly, the things she did in that tape…I know some women who have been around the block who can’t do that. Again, that doesn’t justify the situation, but if I met somebody who didn’t look fifteen…and didn’t put it down like they were fifteen, I wouldn’t think the person was fifteen. I don’t know what led up to the girl arriving at his home to perform these sexual acts, but judging from the tape alone, I would not find this man guilty of sexual assault of a minor. If the girl didn’t know she was being taped, I would definitely find him guilty for invading her privacy, but nothing else. Hopefully, he’ll learn his lesson and the parents of the young woman will live with the guilt for not being responsible for their child.
