Here’s another track from Nelly’s new album, Brass Knuckles, due out June 24th. Looks like Nelly has gone back to rapping about kicks again! First it was Air Force 1′s, now it’s J’s. The new song is produced by Jermaine Dupri and it honestly is a little reminiscent of “Grillz” to me. It also features Ciara, who is currently prepping her new album, Fantasy Ride. A lot of Nelly material is leaking. I hope there’s some material that’ll be fresh for the album.

Check out these two new tracks from the Here I Stand sessions/era. Like I said in the last music review, it’s hard to tell what Usher’s going to keep for the album and what he’s going to scrap. But it seems as though the release date has been moved up considering all the leaking that’s been going on. I can’t even really count how many tracks have surfaced online, regardless of whether or not they make the album. Here I Stand has been moved up to hit stores on the 27th of May.

Anyone who knows me knows that I hate a remix that doesn’t improve upon the original. I always love when a remix has different production than the original song, but this track doesn’t do any justice to the lyrics that Solange penned for Michelle’s first single, “We Break the Dawn.” Flo-Rida appears on the remix, which is appropriate, I suppose, considering that he doesn’t curse in any of his raps. I must admit, I like the original a lot better. I’m eager to see what the video’s going to be like.

Bryan-Michael Cox produced this new joint for Chris Brown’s rerelease of his sophomore album, Exclusive: The Forever Edition. Bryan did some work with Chris before on the album (among those, “Throwed” was one of my favorite). I actually am digging the songs that I’ve heard from the rerelease a little more than the original material that’s on the first edition of the album. Chris has been on tour and caught cuddling with Rihanna, but it’s been rumored that he’s already started work on a new album.
Oh, and for comment #59, Charden, your comment about Michelle being “..nothing more than a back-up singer, and not a good one at that”. Like, that’s beyond ridiculous, (no shade). Michelle’s voice as a unique texture to it. Which actually, took a while for me to get used to. But, I would suggest that you view her performance iwht Destiny’s Child, “Through With Love”. It may be on the “Live in Atlanta” dvd. Michelle is amazing on that song. I do think that every song just isn’t for her. But, she’s a great singer, can’t take that away from her.

I would say the reason why REAL music is not being played is because we don’t support the REAL artist. LiL Mama only sold 18,000 copies of her album, why because she doesn’t fit in a box, Tiffany Evans sold below 10,000 records and she has a real voice. Kelly Rowland’s album is AMAZINGLY better than the B’DAY album or many others but again she didn’t sell, because she wasn’t given a chance. Thats the way the music game or “CLEAR CHANNEL” works. There is no more variety. The only artist on the radio I hear is CHRIS BROWN who has the most horrendous voice I ever heard in my life, MARY J. BLIGE who is an awesome singer but overplayed, ALICIA KEYS, KEYSHIA COLE, USHER, MARIAH CAREY, ANYTHING T-PAIN, and Rhianna, who has medicore talent at best, who is only selling a haircut and clothes, and Timbaland inspired songs, AND THATS pretty much IT. These are the only artist getting recond spins these days. So SAD! Other artist are not getting promo from record companies. It seems like the companies have 1 artist and they promote them only, and everyone else on the label is just filler space. I just want to hear at least 10 new voices on radio!! Is that even possible?
Personally I think we need artist like Michelle who can bring more variety on the radio than these same tired R&B chicks who have so much over exposure. I am really feeling the album so far and the song. Thats the only thing on this review I really like.

I don’t like Nelly song, it feels like the nowadays beats don’t fit with his flow anymore.
I don’t like Usher’s song. Feels …. Old School… But he has a good voice so that makes it ok afterall.
I really like Michelle’s song. She has a really good beat and her voice is also refreshing.
I don’t like Chris Brown anymore… Even if the beat was really good.

Why does everyone think Michelle’s voice has been tweeked in the studio. This girl can really sing. I went the Destiny Fufilled tour and she was the only one who received a standing ovation. I think because she only would sing a lick or two in DC’s songs, people didn’t realize her full potential. She definately could get some better material (although WBTD is growing on me), but the girl definately has some vocal skills…don’t sleep on her.
