Lil’ Wayne and Kanye West have joined forces once again, this time for the “Lollipop” remix, an extended metaphor, comparing food and sex. The last time they collaborated was on one of my favorite tracks from Kanye’s last album, Graduation, “Barry Bonds.” I actually prefer the remix to the original version – it gets a little monotonous, but this one is short, sweet and straight to the point. “Lollipop” really goes off in the club, so I’m sure everyone will love this track. I actually wouldn’t be mad at this song being packaged on the album. Lil’ Wayne is releasing his new album, The Carter III on June 10th.

Here’s the full version of Ashanti’s second single, “Body On Me,” that we posted a snippet for yesterday. The song reminds me of the ’90′s a little bit. Although I see the radio friendliness of the song, I can’t stand Akon on the chorus. I’m wondering if they’ll put a video out for this before they release the album in June. I think the trend has become having two videos out before the album drops, even though “The Way That I Love You” is doing well on radio and still on countdowns.

T.I., although he’s been on the scene a lot lately, and got off easy on his charges, has diligently been working on his new album, Paper Trail. A couple of songs have leaked, so here’s another. “Life of the Party” features R. Kelly and is supposedly lined up to be a single from the album. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed and bored when I heard the song. I think T.I. can come a little harder, especially with all the controversy that’s been surrounding him as of late. T.I. vs. T.I.P. disappointed a few fans, so perhaps this time around, he’ll satisfy.

A while back, we posted Muffy’s club song “Sweet” in our Hot or Not section, and most of you guys weren’t feeling it, though some were. Well, that didn’t stop her. She’s still in the studio recording her album, and still doing shows. “Popular” is a funny, concept song. You wouldn’t expect a song like that, at least I didn’t. I like the track by Muffy a little bit. Her style reminds me of Kelis, and I dig Kelis’ music.
Ashanti’s song would sound so much better if Akon wasn’t singing the chorus. I can’t stand his voice. He sounds like a Muppet gargling some water. When he won for best male R&B/Soul artist last year at the AMAs, I was just shaking my head in disgust. Anyway, the song kinda has cool laid back vibe to it, but Akon’s singing just ruins it for me.
