Here’s a bonus track from Usher’s upcoming release, Here I Stand which will hit stores next Tuesday. I’m loving his vocal delivery on the song, as well as the production, but it’s something about Usher’s material that I’m just not getting. I haven’t really liked much of the writing that I’ve heard on the album. This song is very well put together, and actually fits in well with the rest of the album. If you’re digging, pick up your copy on the 27th.

Check out this new track from LL Cool J’s next album, Exit 13, which is set to hit stores July 8th. LL Cool J seems back to be going back to his old sound with this new track, but it’s funny – it sort of reminds me of Ja Rule’s song, of the same title, which also shares the same collaborator, Lil’ Mo, whose last album didn’t do so well. Exit 13 will be LL Cool J’s final album on Def Jam. Did anyone remember Todd Smith?

I guess Def Jam listened up and realized the fans wanted “Luv” as Janet’s official third single, not “Can’t B Good.” I’m glad that Janet is doing this for the next single, it’s just a great song. She recently performed the new single on Ellen (click here to watch the performance). I’m super pleased with this decision. Hopefully this can push Discipline a little more, as well as the announcement of her new tour. Janet will start in Vancouver, Canada on her Rock Witchu tour. Should be interesting.

New music from Nas. The album, which was originally supposed to be called Nigger, has been pushed back several times, and now we’ve learned that it’s no longer the title. Although Nas is spitting real talk on this new track, it’s not grabbing me at all. Nas released a statement earlier this week, but some folks are just not sold. Did Nas really decide to change the title of his album? Or was there a little push from the label?

I do not think love is the summer song……………This Can’t Be Good is a much stronger song. So much of Usher’s album has leaked its unreal. By the time May 27th comes there probably will be no reason to actually BUY the album. So far “Trading Places” has been my favorite track.
Although I do like “Can’t B Good”, it is a better decision to go with “Luv” for the summer.

Nas- he is my favorite MC of all time. With Nas it’s not about the money it’s about making real music. He’s cds just have wonderful melodies they aren’t like a typical hip hop albums. Thats why I LOVE Nas so much as well. He’s not trying to out “bling” you. Not trying to impress you with his Maybachs, video vixens, or make it rain (Although he did have to do it big in the “Hate Me Now” video). He simply gives you str8 hip-hop music with a message. The reason why hip-hop became hip-hop.

Thank GAWD Island/Def Jam finally got a clue and decided to release “Luv” as Janet’s next single. IMO, it’s one of the best songs on her new album. It’s a catchy summer jam and a real car-knocker. “Can’t Be Good” was aiight, but a bit too chill for my taste, esp. for this time of year. Plus, judging from Janet’s performance on the Ellen show, “Luv” will be a great song to see her do live on her upcoming tour.
Of course, LL Cool J will always be ma boi … I pretty much dig anything he puts out. Bonus points if he does the music video with his shirt off! (LOL) I’m not a die-hard Nas fan, but hats off to him for stepping outside of the box with this new track. So much hip-hop on the radio rite now is about stippers and clubs, it’s nice to see someone spitting lyrics that actually MEAN something, for a change.
