A couple of days ago, our good friends at Rap-Up.com posted a snippet of a new John Legend song from his upcoming third studio album, featuring Andre 3000. I absolutely loved what I heard of the track, and was surprised at the different approach that John is taking this time around. His forthcoming album, due out sometime in September is said to have a different musical sound than his previous two albums. Legend taps friend and collaborator Kanye West, as well as The Neptunes. I can’t wait to hear more material from John. This sounds like it’s gonna be good.

Here’s a new song from Ciara. I’m not sure if this is on the new album, but it will appear on the Sex & the City motion picture soundtrack. It sounds like Fergie’s “Glamorous,” produced by Polow Da Don, although it’s written by Rico Love and produced by Salaam Remi. I don’t know, I’m really confused about Ciara’s album right now. It’s a conceptual project, based around 3 seperate disks. It was said that “High Price,” featuring Ludacris, was supposed to be the first single, but later, it was said that it was false. In any event, this new song is pretty cool, nothing to write home about. Ciara’s Fantasy Ride is set to drop at the end of the summer, and Sex & the City will be out this Friday.

Check out this new track from Brooke Valentine, “Badunkadunk.” It’s random that this new song has dropped, because after her last project, Physical Education was shelved, I didn’t expect to hear anything else from her, especially since she was dropped from her distribution deal with Virgin Records (even though she is still signed to her independent deal, Subliminal Records). “Badunkadunk” is pretty underwhelming, I’m not too impressed. It’s pretty much a watered down snap R&B record, which I thought we were done with. I think that Brooke can do better than this.

Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown collaborated on the duet “No Air,” which appears on the American Idol winner’s self-titled debut album, in stores now. Upon first hearing the song, I loved it. The chemistry between the two is undeniable. Now comes an acoustic version of the crossover hit. Personally, I’m digging the new version of the song, which has become a popular radio and video favorite. It’s got a great feel to it, and it just gives it a more classic sound. I’m not sure whether or not Jordin plans to rerelease her album (she’s signed to Jive – so there could be a possibility of that) with the new version on it.
People find Alicia and John BORING, but the SALES speak for themselves, they sell MORE than the vast majority of their counterparts. So yeah, I’d take those “boring” musicians before I’d take any non-singing male and female “singers” who rely SOLELY on their IMAGE to get some shine.

You have to be in a certain mood to listen to John Legend, because at times he can come off boring (and I am a fan). I think the song is catchy I can see it getting stuck in my head, and me singing it.
I think Brooke is a good singer, it’s just that her label is making her sing songs like the ones on the radio and I don’t think that’s her style. But yes the song sucks.
I love Brooke and the track is great in my opinion, plus she actually has talent and can sing… The song, i believe, is just to create a buzz or is something for us to listen to while we wait. It is not the first single to her new album, but she still has a bunch to give

I have consistently been uninterested in hearing anything that comes out from any mainstream artist, lately. It is not about being jealous or hating on someone. I feel the music industry standard are so flat and predictable. It is like groundhogs day with the reoccurring beats and melodies and lackluster vocal delivery. That energy flows right through the toxicity of BET and MTV and into the minds and souls of OUR community and videos are all about bling song and clubs song. Save our child. I’m really diggin the new John Legend track. Seems he is switching it up for him to be successful at this time in age. I dig it though its a cool vibe track. I already had that CiCi track it’s bananas of course. I like the Brooke track I don’t get the snap vibe since there is no snapping but claps. Sound like Dream might have had something to do with production. I like the No Air acoustic version too.
