Sixteen year old Def Jam singer Karina Pasian debuted her new video for her song “Sixteen At War” on Saturday. The song was written by The-Dream and produced by Tricky Stewart and is taken from her forthcoming debut album ‘First Love’, which is set to drop on June 3rd.
Some people are calling her the next Alicia Keys, I guess because she can play the piano and what not. And some of you may remember that ‘Who Sang It Better’ post she was featured in a few weeks back.
She can play well, but her voice doesn’t stand out. It’s decent, but it doesn’t blow me away.
Her voice DOES stand out she can SANG check out her performance of slow motion on you tube- its acapella. She has a velvety rich tone quality to her voice..

wow, i definitely loved lovedthe lyrics! i;m glad they gave her a song that was appropiate for her age. i like her voice and i guess her and tiffany evans will be battling it out…lol since they both are 16 and they both have the bob haircuts, but of course tiffany evans voice is way more unique and amazing than this new girl. tiffany evans had “im grown” this girl has 16 at war”. this new girl karina is on the right trak, because she has great writers behind her. we’ll see what happens as her career blossoms.

I like the song and it is great to hear her singing something meaningful. Just because your 16 years old doesn’t mean you don’t have questions about the world. She is not singing about a revolution but at least this song addresses some real life material.

I saw a lot of comments about people that are not feeling this song, first this is a song that young adults need to hear, instead “Lick the RAPPER.” She is different because her first single is not a dance song or begging for a man. I appreciate this song and I wish more african-americans (I am one) would take the time to stop getting caught up in the bull of the industry and commend a girl who trying to bring some self-esteem back to the community. And she can sing!

She is no A Keys, but I think shes a positive role model. I like the song too , it has an anthem vibe to it.

The 90′s was a different story because artists like Brandy, Monica, Mya, and Aaliyah made music everyone could listen to regardless of their age and the industry wasn’t as focused on looks back then. You guys are really ridiculous and have no idea what you are talking about. This song is nicely produced and is very age appropriate. The lyrics are meaningful and I think the chorus is very catchy. Unfortunately this song only shows little of Karina’s vocal talent. On you tube karina sings Mariah Carey, Vision of love and she sings the best rendition I have ever heard. Karina cans sing better than Alicia Keys. Alicia Keys cannot sing no Whitney and Mariah songs. Karina however is best when she does Whitney and Mariah songs. her voice is incredible and I think she could take on Tiffany evans vocally. Yall are just judging by this song so yall dont know her vocal ability. oh yea and she is a trained opera singer.
