Yea, Angel, I def agree that Santi is one of the hottest and most original artists out right now. I can’t stop listening to her CD!!!! Can’t wait for her to start doing more live shows nationally!!! She seems like a fun performer…

Santogold represents the black indigo chicks! Not the trendhoppers the “real” hipsters! Santogold, Janelle Monae, and j*daVey represent black girls with creativity. We are the least expected to do this kinda music so it’s refreshing to see blacks expand our taste and sound because we only dominate Hip-Hop and R&B.

Love that fact that a black girl is singing alternative music, its hard for girls of colour who dont sing r&b or pop to get signed by major labels.

Santagold seems okay to me, Im not blown away but i could listen to some of her stuff. Vocally she sounds like Nelly Furtado (before she started pretending to be an r&b artist)

I saw a wide variety of people at her concert, its mostly white but I saw blacks,hispanics, Asians, etc. I think her music is for the masses the problem with the masses (including black people) is that they rather have a white face on an album.
