I love usher and i love the song. However the video is over the top. The hook on the song is suppposed to be a simile, not literally about climbing a mountain. The green screen idea looks amazing and is visually appealing however the vid looks more like a movie that he was photoshoped into. It was original though, I’ll give him that. I’ll stick with just listening to the song minus the video.

Let me start by saying I’m a HUGE Usher fan and I always have been, probably always will be. But….. I dunno, I can’t tell if I like it or not. The video was kinda pointless to be considered a follow up to “Love in the Club”, the two have nothing to do with each other, so he should’ve just left that idea alone. In this song, he’s kind of whining, and I hate to hear whining on songs, just sing with emotion, that doesn’t have to equal whining. I’m not sure if I’m feeling the new material yet, I think it has to grow on me. Having a child and being married should give him more to write about, it’s a new experience, it shouldn’t limit him, and it seems like it is for the time being. I’m ready for him to really hit me with a bonafide “Confessions” follow up, which is hella hard, because we ALL know how crazy “Confessions” was, and even when that came out, we all said “How is he gonna top this?” I dunno, Ush, I’m still waiting. I’ll know for sure after the album comes out tomorrow. I hope he really gives it to us again, he has it in him.

And to the folks talking about a Ginuwine comeback… he was never at the TOP of the R&B game, so his comeback isn’t really all that anticipated. Besides, he’s being the family man living with his wife Sole’ and kids in Blue Springs, MO, a suburb of my hometown, Kansas City.
