Well with our wrap up of the 2008 BET Awards coming to a close…you know we got to end it off with the fashion. Lots of bright color trends popped up on the red carpet at this year’s event – one color being yellow.
Of course, we saw Rihanna rocking it in her Giambattista Valli ruffle gown. Keyshia Cole did the same in a bright yellow bubble mini dress. Trina showed off the color in a simple frock and carried the new Louis Vuitton Murakami Monogramouflage Speedy…
Another popular color on the red carpet was pink – worn by Alicia Keys (in David Meister mini dress & Sergio Rossi heels), Cassie, and Chrisette Michele…
Purple is a favorite color of mine because its such a royal color – and it seemed to be a favorite for Nia Long, Solange, and Lil Kim who all wore the color at the awards show. Lil Kim rock’d purple Louis Vuitton accessories thanks to her good friend designer Marc Jacobs…
Though there was a lot of color of the carpet, Toccara, Ashanti (in Marchesa), and >Kid Sister all opted to keep it basic with black. All three ladies looked great in their black gowns…

Well other than seeing lots of Gucci worn during the show…many ladies rock’d Givenchy Spring 2008 shoes including Lauren London, and Tionne “T’Boz” Watkins – both wearing the Open toed bootie…
Rihanna wore her tall up the leg $1700 Givenchys onstage while performing Take A Bow – she kept with her ruffle theme as well, but a little gothed out this time…
And though I don’t have a best pick for the ladies, I do think some of these fellas did quite well in the fashion department. My favorite was Kirk Franklin…
And we know Diddy had the suit game on lock…but John Legend and Ne-Yo did their stylin’ thing as well…

Ne-Yo was looking quite dapper! Nia long is sooo beautiful. She is never going to age! I thought she was the prettiest female at the awards last night. I’m not shocked that RiRi looked stunning. Not digging Chris B’s odd version of the mohawk. I lost a lot of respect for Ush last night. Lauren London looked cute, but she is kind of overrated.I thought Trey Songz and LL’s old ass looked good too.

I love Keisha, but lately she has appeared so uncomfortable in her clothes and her skin. It appears as it she (or someone) is trying to make her over into someone she is not and ultimately that can be very dangerous. I think she is awesomely talented and an excellent songwriter with so much more to give the world. I hope nothing too bad is rocking her world. Her performance was very shaky at the BET awards. Although she did get down in her little white jumpsuit. And why on earth would she want to get rid of her lovely trademark gap. Put it back! Seriously Keisha, girl, we love you then and now. I did NOT like either of RIhanna’s gowns…I found the black gown a bit esoteric for the awards, in fact. I think she suffers from too many choices at this point…she’s worked her way up in the fashion world and she’s getting offers thrown at her and clearly she doesn’t know which way to go…when you have sooo many choices, you lose a bit of personality.
Of all the looks, Rocsi’s red carpet dress was the best (though it reminded me of Beyonce’s D&G gown)….Cassie’s dress was cute and avant garde but I watched the preshow and her, Lauren London, and Trina (who just LOOKS thick for some reason because standing next to Cassie, she didn’t look that much bigger than her at all) were interviewed together and all of them were wearing bright shades so it took a bit of the sheen off Cassie’s look.
