I did NOT like either of RIhanna’s gowns…I found the black gown a bit esoteric for the awards, in fact. I think she suffers from too many choices at this point…she’s worked her way up in the fashion world and she’s getting offers thrown at her and clearly she doesn’t know which way to go…when you have sooo many choices, you lose a bit of personality.
Of all the looks, Rocsi’s red carpet dress was the best (though it reminded me of Beyonce’s D&G gown)….Cassie’s dress was cute and avant garde but I watched the preshow and her, Lauren London, and Trina (who just LOOKS thick for some reason because standing next to Cassie, she didn’t look that much bigger than her at all) were interviewed together and all of them were wearing bright shades so it took a bit of the sheen off Cassie’s look.

I’m reading that Rihanna’s make up was too dark, but it’s really only her lipstick and I thought it looked good with the bright color. I think something lighter would have washed her out. I love the gladiator boot/sandal look that folks are rockin now, but it ain’t for everybody and does not look good with everything. You either need to have on something short (Lauren London) or a long dress (Rihanna) that in between hem line that T-Boz has on is not working.

The Men: I HATE WHITE SHOES…what is the deal with men wearing these white shoes. They are ugly!!!! If I have to choose…John Legend is the winner. Usher looks silly and the faux hawk is played out.

For folks who are colour ignorant, let me educate you. Yellow and purple are complementary colours (meaning they go together) the same thing goes for red and green. Search for a colour wheel on the internet and you will be able to verify this. Just because Rihanna’s colour scheme was not a monochromatic one doesn’t mean her stylist didn’t know what she was doing.

I could not watch this. I felt overwhelmed, because I’m on CL everyday. These shows are not exciting for me. I always catch the rerun a few months later. I know next time an award show is due to broadcast, I’m taking a two weeks vacation from the web. I remember back in the day, award shows were major and exciting. Now they come a dime a dozen and are worthless. I guess because we have the web and 101 reality shows. i don’t know about Rhianna shutting it down but her shoe game is definitely on point. Everybody is so harsh on Trina but she really looked pretty and classy. I felt on the red carpet show when she was up on stage with Lauren London and Cassie she actually looked better. Ashanti’s style was very sexy and stood out alot to me. Most of the ladies looked stunning. Rihanna was quite beautiful and fresh off the catwalk in Paris. Keyshia, dress was very nice overall but she did not wear it right. Nia long was simply beautiful, so were lil kim and Ms. Keys. Lauren London’s dress did not impress me could have gotten that from macys , but in all fairness she is a beauty and could pull off just about anything. Trina got a new lacefront I see and she wore a shirt…so did Cassie…oh and why would you bring a big ass sack like that too an awards show? Yes we all know she rocks LV , but thats just not classy. Chrisette was beautiful and I really liked her in that dress. Solange dress was nice, but not for her….too much was going on, and her hair/Lacefront was too much…less is more when it comes to Solange.

I swear I would like to see how these people that are going on everybody really dress, and what they would wear to these types of shows. I feel like so many people are so used to basic styles that they get nervous when they see some originality in other peoples style.

But I like Cassies outfit. (it fits her). I also Love puple, so I love the purple dresses that were worn (especially Nia L., she is tight) I like RiRi’s yellow dress and lipsick because it contrasts well. and I like the way Trina’s dress fits on her (she got some bomb legs). I like L. London’s outfit (it is simple and cute). I also like Ciara’s performance outfit with Chris Brown.
