Over the weekend, I attended Solange’s show here in Atlanta with a couple of friends, including Dorion from BET’s College Hill: Atlanta. The show was amazing – Solange is really proving herself this time around. Not only did she look absolutely amazing, but she performed with a broken toe, and sounded wonderful. She had a stage presence that was really captivating. Her set was fresh, and she was just a pleasure to watch.
I also would just like to wish Solange a happy 22nd birthday tomorrow! Her party is today in LA!
Solange’s album, SoL-Angel & the Hadley Street Dreams drops on the 26th of August, and her first single “I Decided,” produced by The Neptunes has been getting a good buzz, especially since the release of her video. Solange is gearing up for the release of her second single, “Sandcastle Disco,” featuring Q-Tip. She just wrapped up her tour last night.
Solange is definitely doing her thing. She is a sweet, talented, down to earth young lady, and I had a lot of fun with her. She really has come into her own and this live performance made it evident.

I’ve liked all the stuff I’ve heard from Solange. I will probably cop the album. It’s funny that a blog well known for saying negative stuff about celebrities, espcially Solange, actually admitted that they liked two of her songs. They couldn’t even front. LOL. But anyway, despite what some people think, I really do think she has talent and is a good song writer. She’s proven that with the hits she’s co-written for Beyonce.

RAKE calling someone FAKE? LMAO. On Riri’s post you argued others about her boots not being the same, but something similar to what others worn and here your’e saying Solo’s wearing something similar. Wow – you played yourself with your contradictions. When you’re getting photographed you’re bound to either wear the same thing or something similar as another because clothes are trendy in this industry. Solo’s been looking good and everything she’s been rocking in her own UNIQUE way and that’s what matters (which Lily isn’t on that many people’s radar fashion wise to be noticed like that and damn sure not on CL). Lily Allen’s crying because Katy (I Kissed A Girl) is bumping her at her own record company. Solange is getting a good amount of press and reviews and she’s going to continue to grow because she’s truly talented and her songs are fire! She’s winning critics over left and right. Do you Solo!

RAKE – White artists have been stealing black music for years. Of course Duffy’s gotten good promotion – SHE’S WHITE. She even has black musicians backing her because she knows she’s no soul/blues singer. Her dry look, singing and performing – she’s a joke. At least Solo’s talented – writing, directing, choreographing, etc. her own *ish. Black artists have to go to hell in a handbasket just to get their fair shake in anything but they’re still the originators of this music and Solo’s winning crtics over left and right. Elvis is still being lauded as the King and he stole everything from Little Richard (especially), Chubby Checker, Fats Domino, etc. You can’t be serious to even begin that argument that any white artist singing black music’s more talented. They’d have to originate something first. You’re just a hater, but keep on because Solo’s music is fire.
I’ll may buy her cd only if it’s 7.99 though because the only song I was feeling was I Decided.. I gotta her more she should have came to Dallas at HOB or something.
