From Pre-School to Med School many CL readers are graduating this year (some of you have already) and I want to feature you all. Graduating is a big accomplishment and I gotta show my CL peeps some love. So, send in your graduation pictures and I will make a feature featuring you.

I will receive my 3rd college degree (MBA) in December. Its nothing like finishing something you started and being able to see the benefits from your accomplishments.

You know its amazing that this post can receive 62+ comments about some k-8th grade graduation & yet the post about Nas’s new video/song gets 77 comments? I mean a child–especially a black child graduating is a beautiful thing but I hardly think its worth an entire post & 62+ comments. I just feel like Nas is doing something real courageous & is trying shed light/have a real dialogue about our history & usage of the n-word yet only 77+ people cared 2 comment on it? WTF?

I actually just went to that Nas post today because I wanted to see what people said. I didn’t comment. No I haven’t watched the video, and no i don’t want to. I haven’t even listened to the song. Personally, I feel like the discussion on the word is overdone and a song will hardly change anything. But the worst part about it is you had to come to THIS post and bash a little girl reaching a milestone. She deserves more comments than the Nas post! There are some true idiots in this post..

graduating from 8th grade is not a milestone, is something that should be expected not praised.
@#8 You are absolutely right. Graduation is special no matter what grade. Day care is even special because they do a huge celebration and when my son graduated the ceremony was beautiful. They dressed up in kente cloth and tried to sing songs and it was a tear jearker. I love graduations.
@7 when you have communities (like mine) graduating 35 out of an 8th grade class of 95 then those graduations become very important and are an accomplishment. But that was some time ago, I just graduated from UC Berkeley a few weeks ago.

I appreciate Angel for doing this, it just shows that there is some hope in recovering from an educational system that has fallen off the edge. Many kids aren’t getting the proper education that they need, and a lot more of them aren’t even graduating…
