This post is for all our U.K. readers out there. The U.K. premiere of Adulthood went down in London on Tuesday. Adulthood is the sequel to ’06′s critically acclaimed hit Kidulthood (which is one of my favorite movies) and it basically picks up where the last movie ended. After reading a few reviews, I’m definitely going to check it out.

First off, in the UK we get all the smae songs, albums and movies you get out here. We know all the artists and all the movie stars. America is not the only countries with ghetto areas and guns. The dumb things is,in the states Guns are legal. They’re not in the UK which means you gotta get down real gully to rol with a strap round here because the cops will beat ur ass just for being black. Secondly, those ‘celebs’ are like D List celebs, half of them aren’t even famous, they’ve just been in kidulthood..they’re up and coming. Sue-Elise was in Mystique, but she didn’t do anything and as for that Danielle Lloyd, I’m sick and tired of seeing her attach herself to every black man with a bit of money, she is a publicity whore famous for dating average football players.
Thirdly, lol @ the peeps saying that we can’t dress in the UK..LMAO!!!! If that is the case, why are all your American celebs imitating our way of dress? Kanye is known for jacking the European style, as is Pharrell, Lupe, Rihanna etc…
I’ve seen a few fashion items on here, who do you think it was who put you guys on to the whole scarf swag thing? It was us!!!!! The European dress sense is on point, all you americans know about is baggy jeans and white t’s!

Why is the the director and lead actor pictured with that racist Danielle Llody. Have people forgotton her performance on Big Brother, or is it a case of because she was racists towards asians that it dosent matter or that because she’s pretty it makes it a forgivable offence. She’s awful, a publicity whore who will turn up to the opening of an envelope. These black men that hang with her need to tell her to step, because the next thing you know she’ll be getting drunk and telling them that they are the N Word and later saying she didnt mean it as she’s young and stupid, BITCH PLEASE.
I watch Kidulthood for the first time recemtly, and whilst it was a good film for keeping an audience watching, I was slighlty concerned with the representation on youth culture in London. All of the characters in the film were very negative, not one of them had any sense at all and they all seemed to be going of the rails. If I was over the age of 40 I would think that ALL teenagers are like this and that there are no kids out there doing anything posistive with there lives. I really feel like alot of attention is out on kids who are doing wrong and the ones from the same background trying to do something for themselves get NO shine at all. This was represented in the film and I hope that in Adulthood that this issue is addressed. There are some very positive kids out there that are struggling, but all know negativity sells better than positivity.
adulthood is the only movie you’ll see that portrays black british life even though the violence will be glamorised. the slang, the clothes, the swagger is all london and the director is responsible for that. there’s a rapper called sway from the uk. he’s affilated with akon and lupe fiasco. he’s got a new song out. it’s called f ur x and it’s on on smash. it stars the whole cast of adulthood. if your reading the message check it out if you got time.
p.s black british people love black people. if there american or african it dosen’t matter. i’ll forever seek out my people cause i love my people. concrete loop does it big!

There were so many youths tryna get in it was amazing. This film is big in the UK and it does send a message.
It’s educational and entertaining at the same time.

And to all those who are saying that if adults saw this that they would associate most of the youths of London like this then they need to open there eyes coz it’s based on the truth. A least 2 youths get stabbed everyday in one area. The way they talk in adulthood and kidulthood is the way they talk for real. And the violence is just the same even worse. People get stabbed if they set foot in an area that aint their own or if their known as a wasteman but most of the time for nothing at all. it’s stupidness but it’s the truth and it needs to be heard.
Can’t wait to see it. Hope its as good as Kidulthood.

Being from the uk grime scene, kidulthood is real and we need to tell the real story to every one out there. People need to know that live is not all about fairy tales and happy endings.
Many of you guy may not know these actors because the film involves people that live these lives or have a very good insight in the role they are playing. I love the way that no “Alist” celeb is used; and that is what makes it real.

Im from London and i think Kidulthood was quite good! It showed how teens in modern society behave now.
What im not feeling is the negativity about this film and the UK!
If you have never visited the Uk or know much about it, then dont judge, i personally have been to the States many times so i am in a position to compare it!
As Hollywood is the capital for entertainment for the world, most actors/singers etc known are from the States, that is quite obvious right?? so thats why some of you will not know most of these actors!
