Apparently Michelle Obama’s appearance on The View last week was a big hit. So big infact, that the dress she wore by Donna Ricco sold out the next day according to reports. The designer’s response to MSNBC:
“I’m very happy. I’m very surprised. I had no idea she would be wearing this dress,” Ricco told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira Friday in New York. “But it’s sort of a natural happening for me, because I’ve been designing dresses a long time. We ship a lot of dresses to the stores, and I’m happy that Michelle chose this dress to wear on ‘The View.’ ” SOURCE
The dress retals at $148 but Ricco priced it at $99 on her website – of course its sold out on there as well…
OBAMA INSPIRES VERSACE
Versace Menswear Spring 2009 (style.com)And the Obamas keep making rounds in the fashion scene. This past weekend during the Spring 2009 Versace Mens runway show, designer Donatella Versace dedicated her line to Sen. Barack Obama – saying it was inspired by the presidential candidate:
Calling the US presidential hopeful “the man of the moment”, Donatella Versace dedicated her Spring-Summer 2009 collection to Obama, creating a style she said was designed for “a relaxed man who doesn’t need to flex muscles to show he has power”. SOURCE

U.S VOGUE ON BLACK MODELS

With Italian Vogue releasing their all-black issue next month, American Vogue decided to do a feature on Black models in their July issue, featuring current models Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, and Arlenis (pictured above).
It also posed the question if “fashion is racist”, meaning if the current industry pays attention to these Black models (as if they didn’t know the answer already). The issue also profiles past American Vogue photo spreads and features with Black models (view it here).
Seems like U.S Vogue felt a little guilty and placed it out so, they could follow the steps of Italian Vogue…agree or disagree?

I love the Obamas! Wow, i wonder who bought that dress though? LOL
Vogue..blahhh! its wonderful to see blacks on the covers and pages, but Vogue doesnt need to do it, just to satisfy some for a hot minute. They wont keep blacks on the pages, so why even do it? its sad though.
BOOOOOO @ whoever said Rhianna is MORE talented than Keyshia!! Rhianna has no vocal range what-so-ever!!! Just because you all like her clothes, fashion, and haircuts more than Keyshia dont make her “more talented”. her BET Awards performance was a big *YAWN* to me, like she always is. Next!!!!
