It’s Oprah Winfrey, of course! Forbes released their 2008 Celebrity 100 Power List this week and of course she tops it. Gotta respect that hustle.
The list also included two of everyone’s favorite couples. Beyonce and Jay-Z came in at fourth and seventh, while Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took the third and tenth spots.

Of course Angelina is more influential than Beyonce….there was a quota for that list…if you don’t know what that means…I’m saying they designated so many spots for so many entertainers in each category…they knew how many actors, athletes, musicians, etc they would use. Beyonce (and others…it’s not just her) were so high up on the list not because they were more powerful than the person below them, but because they were the most “powerful” in their respective categories. They assembled the list subjectively after they’d completed the quota. That’s why so many actors/musicians were left off the list this year…they had earned just as much money as some who were included and even garnered MORE attention in popular magazines/internet search engines, but they didn’t outweigh others in their category. It’s why Jessica Alba was left off but JLO was included…it’s why soo many rock stars who grossed hundreds of millions last year were left off while Jay Z and Beyonce made the list…the two of them garnered more attention than those two…which isn’t hard to do since aging rock stars aren’t exactly fodder for gossip rags and weeklies.
