Remember when we did an artist spotlight on the LA-based band J*Davey? Well, we’re following up with the duo with their new song, “Mr. Mister.” I’ve liked J*Davey for a minute, so it’s good to hear things coming from their way. The song is one of those cool, mellow dance numbers that I have always loved them for.
In the video, vocalist Jack Davey seduces a robot in several locations – from the bedroom in lingerie to the darkroom in neon makeup to the office where no one has noticed she’s not wearing pants, Ms. Davey does her thing. Check ‘em out.

This is probably one of my fave songs from J*DaVeY. They are a hot ass group w/ banging tunes. Unlike ppl jacking that “cabbage patch kids” style, they def. have a fresh sound. Kinda like a new wave urban sound… not that crappy urban pop. Totally in love w/ them!

Glad someone pointed out that this is not a new J Davey joint. It been out for a long while now.
Not new at all but some people are newbies to J*Davey and likely so they aren’t the most publicized group but they’re on their way. I think the inked a deal with Warner Bros. Music last year and have been working on the Re-Release of their indie album along with their new album (Which is due 7/1/08) “The Beauty in Distortion/Land of the Lost” which will be sold in a double CD feature……..wheeeew they need to put me on the pay roll but ummm yeah I will most def be coppin that on the first….here are some of my faves:

I LOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVE J*Davey, have for awhile, kudos to them for being super creative and unique. BUT- side note- the song “Mr. Mister” and video has been out for about 2 yrs, it got posted on their myspace in the fall of ’06. I’ve been patiently waiting for it to get some play.
though i don’t like it, i saw the vid and her body is sick. had to pay that compliment.

i bought their album earlier in the year when it was for sell on their myspace, it was sold out in like a half hour, warner bros signed them a year ago but like many they seem to be doing just fine without major label support, they were actually thinking about dropping them which is crazy, who else can sell a thousand cds in a half hour unsigned.

This song IS NOT new!!! Its been since like 06…..maybe even earlier. I’m glad J* Davey is finally getting the recognition they deserve though!!!
The song came out a couple of years ago. But it’s still hot. They were way ahead of their time. Can’t wait for the new album. HURRY UP!
