♫ NEW MUSIC FROM KARINA PASIAN
The young girl who you may remember from her debut single, “16 At War,” chooses the second single from her upcoming album. Karina Pasian has been called many things: a child prodigy, a young Alicia Keys, and I think with the new single, “Can’t Find the Words,” produced by Los (not Ryan Leslie), I think that many will agree.
“Can’t Find the Words” is the featured single of the week on iTunes (this link will launch a free iTunes download), so clicking the link above will open iTunes from your browser and download a free copy of the new single.
Check out Karina on MySpace if you’re digging her sounds, and show her some love!

Who is she?
She looks like Jada, no?
I love it!
Karina is the bomb……………but y’all don’t know ’cause y’all is too busy buying Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy CD’s.
she bores me but good luck to her. i think she has a pretty voice, pretty look, and obviously can play the piano well. the child prodigy thing is a stretch though lol usually prodigies are ppl who stand out and produce change in a certain area. i don’t see that in her
Poor Tiffany Evans. She’s being upstaged.
I like this girl too tho! I know she plays piano, but does she write her own lyrics too?
I like Karina’s music and I am looking forward to her cd. She has another song on her myspace page called “Slow Motion” which I think is a good song. Her music has a positive message unlike the majority of the music out now. Kudos to Karina!!!
LMFAO @ #4! Karina is a great artist. I’ve heard her stuff and I can’t believe she’s so young to have a voice like that. In a music scene full of talentless non-singing artists, she’s refreshing and brings promise. I hope they promote her properly and this “eclectic, self-aware and wise” persona is hers and not drawn up by her record label. That could damage her career by giving feeble minded ppl the chance to categorize her (ex. – the comparisons to A. Keys). Also #5 needs to stop hating. I hate when ppl hate on others for having abilities their ass probably don’t possess. Obviously she isn’t going to show her prodigical talents on a damn R&B track. Did A. Keys… “yes” BUT only in intros and intermissions. Think about it…
I am buying her cd she did a wonderful interview on the radio and she sounded great.
This is a hot song. I wish this sister well.
DOMINICANS STAND UP!
Sorry that tends to slip from time to time. She has talent, hopefully we’ll see her in the parade this year. Nice song, calming. She may need something else for radio play.
She must be good she has 675 reviews on ITUNES. I downloaded it since it was free but she’s young she has alot of time to grow.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG. I WAS HOOKED ON THE FIRST OOH OOH. YOU GO GIRL.
Also if you’re not on Disney and your 16 good luck selling your records. Disney didn’t even promote Raven the way they are doing Jonas Brothers or Miley. This girl and Dondria or whatever that girls name was that was featured on here already have albums coming out and this is the only place I have either one of them.
Like I’ve said on the old post ,where her 16 at war song video first came out, she doesnt have it. Today if your song isnt catchy, about a dance move, has no message to it, it is not valid.
People were saying all of this and that but have any one of you heard about that 16 at war song? NO
16 at war song was good but a little bore this song is good but a little bore.
Maybe she sould sing about eyeliner and it might be a hit. Lipgloss is poppin was.
but she can SANG but nowadays being able to sing serves no purpose having talent serves no purpose people like rihanna, souljaboy, hurrican chris, etc arent the best at the what they do maybe the worst but point blank ITS ABOUT MAKING CATCHY SONGS AND MAKING HITS. point blank period(had to say something from t.i. lol)
I love her. Check out 16 At War & Slow Motion too.
@8 i never said she was talentless. i said she was pretty (obviously the girl’s really cute), i said she could sing (i like the tone of her voice, it’s not great but she’s 16, that’s expected), and i think she plays the piano well. i don’t like the song and i’m a hater now lol what ever happened to ppl being entitled to their opinions. i just don’t think she’s a prodigy. i don’t think akeys was one either. prodigy is a big word and they don’t fit the status. to me, a prodigy ends up having a huge impact on the industry or on other artists etc. akeys to me is just a regular artist. ppl like michael jackson are prodigies. he also wrote his own songs but they targeted all people, not just one genre. and he influenced hundreds of artists. she most likely won’t reach that level and that’s ok but hardly anyone does. i mean no one out right now fits the prodigy status (some underground artist do). just my opinion but i wish the girl good luck in her endeavors p.s. no i don’t play the piano lol doesn’t mean i’m not talented
@ 18…
i don’t see why people always assume just because someone can play an instrument they are prodigies.. especially the piano. it’s not a hard thing to do. stevie wonder is a prodigy, ray charles was a prodigy.
anyway, i think karina is talented in any case and a breath of fresh air for the b.s. that people like beyaki and rihanna are putting out all sexed up and such. kudos to her for being 16, and having more sense than these 20 something’s. i hope she stays around for awhile. with her and jazmine sullivan coming around, it looks like r&b may be resuscitated FINALLY.
ps…. lol that cover is definitely an akeys bite. it looks reaaal reminiscent of songs in a minor. what is with people recycling folks’ cover styles. first leona and the mariah bite, now this.. come on now.
karina ia d bomb.
thnx cl 4 posting
top 50
luv karina!!
I LOVE THIS CHICK….NOW THIS A REAL ARTIST : SHE CAN ACTUALLY SING… AND HAS A VERY UNIQUE VOICE WHICH MAKES HER STAND ALONE ( VERSUS A WHOLLLLLLLEEEE LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY).
Karina is so pretty and has a beautiful voice.I love this song and her time is coming to take over and shine like the star she is…Respect.
I love karina………………Tiffany Evans is so getting left in the dust……….but im slick mad they keep trying to make ol girl the young A.Keys
They are going to set this chick up for failure, if they keep trying to push her to be the next Alicia Keys.
I mean, yes, Alicia will be the obvious person that people will compare Karina to, since she also plays the piano. But, did they have to lock this lil girl in AK’s closet, too?
Seriously, that cover was not a wise decision.
But, I thought her look in the “16 @ War” video was really cute, and individual—-so, they need to expand that look, and NOT make her look like a sloppy second.
Oh, and another thing. I guess, Karina’s people going to such lengths to make her the next AKeys is a huge compliment to Alicia—-I mean, the lady hasn’t even been on the scene for that long.
I really like her, she’s a young positive girl…I’m glad young girls have people like her and Tiffany Evans to look up to, she’s gonna go far
shes a bit boring but its nice to see a girl promoting herself as a young lady
umm..her voice is average..ive heard many girls who sound like this round the way.
The song is okay, it’s not strong enough to be a single but she’s off to a decent start I guess. I cosign with #26. They don’t need to dress her up like Alicia Keys. She is a new artist trying to make a name for herself, and it won’t help if her wardrobe is a clone of someone already established. The comparison will already come since she also plays the piano, but they will really come pouring in if the majority of her image is too similar. I think that will hurt her. I can see it now, people will be quick to accuse of her being a copy cat and write her off without giving her a chance. So I think she change her look just a tad.
the songs sounds like A. Keys “No One” (well at least the melody does)…
i would listen to her songs but i would not buy the album…. at least not yet : )
wow first she is a great singer and its a shame ppl compare her 2 ak but that comes with being in music rihanna/beyonce leona/mariah ciara/aaliyah ok get my point but her label is not promoting her defjam is wrapped up in sex selling provactive artist like rihanna her songs are not going to get picked up on mainstream airwaves I mean Im just being honest then you have Tiffany Evans whos a gifted singer who was thrown into bad marketing popin her behind on stage talkn about im grown that was bad
i really like the song
According to Wikipedia, Karina is a young lady of Dominican heritage who learned to play piano at a young age and can sing fluently in several languages. That’s a miracle by today’s standards. Most of these fast azzed kids can’t sit their behinds down for two seconds to learn sh-t so this girl is a child prodigy. She is doing something positive, not starring her underaged behind in a R Kelly or Akon video.
I love the song. She does remind me a bit of Alicia Keys. But I really like 16 at war & this song is really nice as well.
She learned how to sing in seven diffrent languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, French, Turkish, and Arabic) and is fluent in two (English and Spanish).
u go girl.
@#4 I agree, ppl don’t appreciate TRUE talent and music they rather support a burnt roach looking dude who rap about nonsense than a girl whose singing about positive and real issues. Oh well they the losers that’s buying his album becuz I rather buy Karina’s album anyday than to waste money on a scrub.
I’m really loving this girl! I really am! I love 16 @ War! I’m loving this chick!
When I first heard her voice she sort of reminded me of Emily King (who I think is a great vocalist!). Hopefully she can find her niche in the industry.
I agree #19, the word “prodigy” gets thrown out there too much. I think “classically trained” would be a better term. I’m just saying though. Who know she could have been playing mozart at 3 IDK.
Anyway she has a nice voice and the song was good. I just read about her in the current issue of Vibe “NExt” so I’m glad this was posted because I’d never heard of her.
The only problem I see is we already have Alicia Keys. So unless she does something that is new or outside of the box she may just be a blip on the scene for a minute. And I say that because I KNOW ppl are just going to compare the two but I hope she does well. I think there’s room for everybody, but her ppl really need to help her create her own image and style otherwise she’ll just look like a AK wannabee.
She ain’t Alicia, at least not yet. But she’ s got a voice. she’s like a very rnb version of alicia
but dont get me wrong the song is nice
For people who don’t know, THIS is talent. Not that crap you watch on tv and hear on the radio. It’s sad that she problem won’t go anywhere because she isn’t sluty looking or isn’t singing about sex. Young people don’t want to see REAL talent today.
Not bad.
Damn Im liking this girls voice! Perfection, its a great song too! Move over Rihanna cuz the real talent is coming your way!
#37 I guess if you are not white, you’re light skin, because saying ” a burnt roach looking dude” is a racist statement and a prejudice to darker tones. Why don’t you judge the person on their performance and talent, not the color of their skin. That is just more examples of the self hatred and division we have among black folks. Have some more class and say something worthwhile.
For a second there i thought that was Alicia Keys…
Im sry but I have to say this: YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY CANT FIND ONE TALENTED DARK SKIN GIRL.
Just because a teen can play the piano doesn’t make them a prodigy. Damn our standards are low. I agree with above, this girls isn’t even black, she is Hispanic. They are erasing black women from the very music we created, sorry I will not support.
Well I personally like Karina’s music. I have been playin the heck out of her version of Official Girl. I think she has a very strong voice and I really hope she does well. I do like this song as well. And will people stop comparing everyone to somebody. First Jazmine Sullivan and Lauren Hill, now Karina to A Keys. Let it go people!!
I loved this girl’s voice ever since I heard her version of “Official Girl” on here. She sang “Slow Motion” a capella on the radio in Miami and she had everyone of those radio personalities speechless. I think with the right team behind her, she could be really big. I agree that they need not push her to be the next Alicia Keys…. but hey, comparisons are inevitable.
And I agree with whomever said with talents like her, and Jazmine Sullivan, I believe there’s new hope for REAL female R&B singers.
I think I’m a little tired of seeing pretty lightskinned black women sitting at the Piano and singing songs. Next! And no I’m not hatin’, I’d just liek to see more variety.
@ 53…I know it’s like all of these artists are starting to look the same, but at least she has talent.
The funny thing is my best friend works as an A&R at a record label in ATL, and she says when she looks for new artists, her boss specifically says “Find me a pretty light-skin girl that can sing and dance her ass off.”
When is this music industry going to step up when it comes to diversifying the look of these artists. All of them are starting to look the same HER, BEYONCE, ALICIA KEYS, RIHANNA, CHRISTINA MILIAN, CIARA, ASHANTI, LEONA LEWIS. Of course they are ALL gonna get comparisons because they all look a like. Light skin, green eyes, blond highlights. I swear to God the day a beautiful dark skin black girl hits the music scene its gonna be like the second coming of Michael Jackson because it is so rare!!!!
DR STAND UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow I see the haters are in full effect today!
First of all girl may be Dominican, but she IS a Black woman! She has African ancestry!
Hispanic is our slave name, Columbus try to implement that shit on us (di que Hispanola!!!!!!) Don’t play with me!
Whether you think she is a prodigy or not, you cannot deny her talent!
I think she is a breath of fresh air in an industry were the most popular of female artists are the very essence of cookie cutter regurgitated bullshit!
*where
When I was in MD for College Park’s graduation in May.
I heard this young lady’s song 16 flood the air waves.. Loved the song, and her vocals. That song could be very influential for teenage girls. I got lost in it, relating and remembering when I was 16.
@56 – What are you talking about? Some of us don’t but into this lightkinned woman thing the music industry seems to be so obsessed with. All we’re asking for is some variety, you know , similar to what we see among black MEN in the music industry, representing ALL the beautiful shades of Black??
@54- that’s a dam shame, but I guess it is what it is!
FYI, DR was one of the centers of the slave trade, so I don’t know why you’re hyping that 300 years later, lol!!!
@ 60, and society keeps hyping that by calling us Hispanics, 300 years later FYI!!!
Just like you don’t buy into the light skinned woman thing, I don’t buy into being called Hispanic!!!
It’s whatever! I’m not here to argue! But I will agree there is a lot left to be desired in terms of the variety in Black female artists.
I like Karina Pasian because she is really talented and her music has message.
Unlike the other Dominican Singer Kat Deluna who only released music with a sexually charged message, even though she has a good voice that could sing any song of any genre!
(And she is fitting the stereotypical Black/Latina image with the wild Blond hair weave and constantly shaking her butt!)
I really don’t see that with Karina…
