Hey guys, Angel here. A lot of people don’t know that I’m into photography and seeing as though I’m pretty much done with Part I of my ‘Turn Around’ photo collection, I wanted to share these with those who are curious. Each Photo has a caption with more info on where I was and what was going on.

Went to a random nature trail to take photos of trees. An elementary school was on a field trip learning about insects, etc. I asked the teacher if I could take a photo of the kids looking out at the lake, she said it was cool. (2008)

When I was up in NYC I got a chance to view my favorite painting ever ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent Van Gogh. The dude in the red shirt was taking notes for a class and the short chick was randomly humming. I think it’s still at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Arts), so if you get a change peep it. (2007)

Went to a rally down in North Carolina and sided with my military counterparts against the Westboro Baptist Church. If you know anything about them, then you know they’re vile. These cops were looking over the area.. (2008)

Back up in NYC, I went out to eat with some friends. Here we are walking down the street, I think it was in Midtown.. (2008)

Self-portrait taken at the campus library. This was taken around the same time I started CL. (2005)

Old man fishing in North Carolina. (2008)

I took this the same day I met tattoo artist Kat Von D. We were walking around Wilmington, NC showing support for Obama.. (2008)

Two military wives yell back at the Westboro Baptist Church in defense of their husbands. (2008)

U.S. Marine silently attends protest against the Westboro Baptist Church. He had a cane and said he served in Iraq. (2008)

Another Marine holding up the U.S. flag at Westboro Baptist Church protest.. (2008)

WOW! these are pretty good. I love the first shot though with the kids.
Nice.
Maybe Part II will be pictures of people from the front. And you might want to B&W some of your pics, too. That would add a nice touch.
Good job.
I never was fond of van gohn…personally I like Monet, Degas, Mondrian and others…I loving the first pic
Loving all of them, i do photography too, studying a BA in digital photography.
the only slight criticism i have to make is off the library image, i think it could make the series off images stronger if that one was taken out, don’t get me wrong, its a good image, but it just doesn’t sit comfortably with the others, that’s just my opinion though. But in general the whole series is interesting and i love the concept. they’re looking and we’re seeing, hot.
These are really nice Angel my favourites are “City life” and “NYC” but the rest really good, i studied photography as well i just finished this year i just did my exam last month so hopefully i pass
nice pictures…
lovin’ the perspective….i like how you took images from behind…seriously….very nice. you guys should showcase more black artists and i love your black history sect. thank you for the gossip but also keeping us enlightened in other relevant ways
sincerely
I luv them all.. they have such a natural feel to them! The 1st pic is my fav. It’s sooo diverse.
Nice pics Angel I love the kids, cops on horses and NYC.
nice concept! and i particularly like the b&w old man fishing shot
The pics are alright, looks average to me. I’m not being negative or anything, just my opinion. The only pics I really like are the one of the kids looking at the lake and the black & white image of the man fishing.
I like Angel and the CL Crew. You guys should go to more events.
These are very nice Angel…I’m lovin how everything is shot from your perspective. “NYC” and “The Lake” are my personal faves…
Angel, this is so unbelievably cool. I love all (ALL, I said) the pictures…it’s your art so I can’t even begin to understand the criticism (if slight). Whatever. Good thing Warhol ignored the fuckers who called him a con man! Again, I love it. Maybe you should make an “arts” section of the blog and keep a running tab on artists. That would be hot.
Very good. I personally like black and white or sepia photos and have a lot of pictures of my daughter in black and white and sepia. Photographs tell a story that sometimes words can’t. Keep up the good work. Next time in NYC go the Museum of Natural History. You well get alot of good pictures and Time Square at night and also the library on 5th Ave across from Sean John store. Good photo op!!
I second RAKE, make an art section!! where readers can post their images, or videos or music!! that wud be such a good idea and that would help to make cloop even more unique and and original compared to other blogs!!
Don’t be afraid to kneel, squat, sit, lie down, stand up high or turn the camera diagonally. With enough practice, you can turn good photos into something great!
@ #16 aka KAY
Yeah……thats a good idea, cos im sure there are a lot of creative people on here.
#15 What about photos in silver gelatin print? I love those.
Very creative, Angel. I think an art section would be cool, too.
I was thinking more along the lines of what she’s doing now…just an art section where she focusing only on artists and their work. I’m sure readers could send things in, but I’d like to see her covering the work of famous and not so famous artists like celebrities.
she’d be*
I like the fishing one the best. Angel do you use Photoshop? I think it can make some of the pictures more crisp and clean.
What dont you do Angel??? Keep ya eye on the prize girl!!!
I love the NYC capture,
the light and everything are a beautiful.
i do photogrx as well
Good photos!
Child Please
I am so glad to see that someone has finally put Jacksonville NC on the map. I see that a lot of these photos are taken there, and they look great.
Jacksonville is a small town, better known for Camp Lejeune military base.
Nice pics. Now I’m curious to know what’s going on with the Westboro Baptist Church. *goes to google*
Angel these are tight!! I love all of them!! Keep doing what you do coz you are doing it so well!!!
Nice photos, Angel. I’m into photography myself. What type of camera do you use?
are all of these shots taken from the back on purpose? They are very clear.

Thats cool Angel I like all of them.. I hope you add an art category. I think that would be a great addition
Love the pics… Especially the one with the marine holding the flag.
Good stuff Angel. I don’t know anything about photography, so from a layman’s point of view, these really do tell a story. Keep up the good work with your creative self!
I love the way you shot everything from the same angle. I may have to check out MOMA soon. Looking forward to the 2nd set.
Nice pics Angel!
Nice pics … someone got a good camera too lol.
I love the one u took in NYC that was a nice lighting effect that happened naturally because it was night with all the street lights on. Im into photography too so the NYC , and the fishing one were my favorite.
The Lady with Many Talents!!!! Get it Angel…. I’m lovin the TURN AROUND MOVEMENT!
Hey Angel,
I didn’t know you were into photography! Nice pics
I love taking pictures because you only have that one second to capture that moment or it is forever lost
It’s always nice to look back like five years and just see how you and everyone else has changed
these are nice i really like the black and white with the man and his fishing rods and the kids looking at the lake, keep up the good work
Any pics that DON”T involve water are just fine with me. I’m still draining my basement from the floods here in the Midwest..
I like the one of the cops on the horses. I called it…”Six Stanky Asses”, lol.
“the library” was actually my personal favorite
it gave me insight into angel la
