POLITICS: HISTORY IN THE MAKING

A day after becoming the Democratic presumptive nominee, Sen. Barack Obama sat down with Brian Williams to discuss what roles in his campaign the Clintons might play, what the Republicans might say and the most powerful story he heard earlier today.

According to Obama, “Probably the most powerful story I heard was today at a conference. A woman came up to me. She said her son teaches in an inner-city school in S.F. and said that he has seen a change in behavior among the young, African-American boys there in terms of how they think about their studies. Those are the kinds of things I think make you appreciate that it’s not about you as an individual, but it’s about out country and the progress we’ve made.”

Obama also discusses the most talked-about “fist pound” with his wife, Michelle.

@55 You know what you calling me ignorant and stupid really goes to show you what kind of a person you truly are. Looking down at me doesn’t make you smarter nor better. Look some people can’t deal with defeat. Hillary one of those people. You know that because if she had any sense she would’ve been dropped out. So now you think she just going to turn around and jump up and down about him winning because he is a black man? If Hilllary was to win the nomination you probably wouldn’t be jumping up and down for her because her winning too is a historical moment as well. So does that make you a misogynist? Me personally I thought she should address he’s winning but I can understand why she didn’t. Give her some credit, she has in the past speeches how if he wins this would be historical moment. Look just because she isn’t getting on the bandwagon doesn’t mean she is racist. Quit being so sensitive.

@LOL you know what you are really need to come with something different.

@Jones I have heard him speak, and he is a good speaker. But what does that mean? Listening doesn’t make me think a change is going to come. He is doing what politicians do, make themselves likeable and talk about change, this isn’t anything new, only thing new is the color and I think that’s what people are captivated by. How do we know he can is going to be a good leader when he has little experience? People put to much trust in man that when he fails then they look all surprise. I trust in something more stable.

@#63 You make a very good point, anyone can spray paint do-do and say its gold.Trust is not one of my better qualities either. In the aftermath of the 2004 election, and how nearly 5 million black folk got duped, into voting for a trustworthy and experienced George Bush,I think the voting black public will be wiser with our choice in 2008.I support Barack,I made my choice from my gut.I heard his speech at the dnc convention in 2004,and CNN did a brief bio on him and found out this brotha graduated from Harvard.Harvard and brothas don’t mix,if a brotha is into the ivy-league thing, The University of Chicago would be a safer choice, and why politics? What could he gain in politics that he couldn’t in the business world unless he was being real and true to himself.I honestly feel that if he is elected,he will be the best president in history, because EVERY BLACK PERSON to be the first anything in WHITE AMERICA will have so many eyes, and ears just waiting for them to eff up, and we triumph every time with a style and grace, that makes anyone proud.Lastly ANY brotha that graduates from Harvard that can retain enough blackness to Dap his wife off,is Kool Moe Dee with me!

This is a huge first step as defeating Hilary maybe the biggest obstacle in the campaign.
