ROUNDUP: PARIS BENNETT PREGNANT / RUSSELL’S CHILD SUPPORT / MANDELA GIVE NAOMI THE BOOT

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Former American Idol contestant and 19 year old Paris Bennett is expecting a girl in October:

Jamecia, who like her daughter and mother is a singer, is absolutely over the moon about being a first-time grandmother.

“I’m proud of how she did it. I was 16 when I got pregnant,” said Jamecia.

Paris’ great-grandmother is Shirley T. Bennett, 75, of Rockford, Ill.; her grandmother Ann Nesby, a gospel and R&B powerhouse, who lives in Atlanta, was with the Sounds of Blackness.

Who’s the daddy? “He chooses not to be in the public eye,” said Jamecia. “I respect that.” What does he do for a living? “I can’t tell,” she said.

“She has a ring,” said Jamecia, who’s hopeful that she’ll be planning a wedding for Paris.

The planning for an August baby shower is already underway. A few celebrities may fly into town for the show, including Queen Latifah. READ MORE

Congrats to Paris…

RUSSELL SIMMONS & CHILD SUPPORT

Former married couple Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee were all the buzz this week after TMZ.com released documentation that orders Simmons to pay $480,000 of child support to his daughters Ming & Aoki Lee:

The agreement, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, shows that until 2019, Russell Simmons will continue payments for Ming Lee, now 8, and, until 2022, for Aoki, now 5.

Kimora Lee, 33, filed for divorce in March after nine years of marriage. She’s asking for primary custody of the girls and that Russell, 50, be granted “reasonable child visitation … accompanied at all times by the children’s nanny and security personnel.” READ MORE

Russell recently answered questions about the child support ruling and intentions of his former wife saying:

“My kids live a tremendous life,” he said. “They do have lots of security, nannies, educators, special programs, travel, chefs, on and on. Their mother manages all of those luxuries and I’m happy to provide for that…I want to say Kimora is a excellent mother and is doing a great job with them”

MANDELA BOOTED NAOMI FROM CONCERT…AMY WHINEHOUSE WAS IN

55202207dasurs626200812835pm.jpgPhoto: Wireimage

Looks like Naomi Campbell’s appearance to Nelson Mandela’s birthday dinner this week didn’t impress him over her outside actions. After learning about Naomi’s current legal situation, Mandela axed her from attending his birthday concert that took place yesterday:

Mandela was upset because Campbell was arrested for assaulting two police officers while wearing a baseball cap with the 46664 logo, the Mail reported.

Mandela felt the arrest was at odds with his charity’s goals, the paper said. He and the supermodel had been friendly, and she has referred to Mandela as her “honorary grandfather.”

Things cooled when Campbell, 38, was sentenced last week to 200 hours of community service for assaulting the officers in April during a kicking, screaming and cursing fit at Heathrow Airport. READ MORE

Though Campbell got the boot, Mandela was happy to see Amy Whinehouse headline the concert. The troubled singer who has undergone numerous medical tests after fainting at her home in London earlier this month, appeared fine while performing on stage in front of 50,000 fans.

It’s completely hypocritical to allow Amy Winehouse to participate, but not Naomi. Don’t get me wrong, Naomi has made her own bed, but so has Amy. I’m disappointed in Mandela if this is true.

Amy was sick messy at the concert. She performed really well as did Leona Lewis, Queen, Annie Lennox and the Agape choir and Eddie Grant. Not surprised bout Naomi.

19 to have a baby, very rare that teenage romances survive, the stats prove it but wishes to’ em

Aren’t the simmons kids cuute. Thats a hell of a lot of child support

12.

Hmmm

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

What a shame, Paris is now another statistic, an unwed mother and a dead beat soon to be baby father. Her career never launched. Good luck with your life.

I don’t think the deal with Kimora and Russell is a bad thing. It’s just wordings for the legal papers. Like he said “if he is in town, he calls and they can go right over” and we can only go by what comes out of Russell’s mouth. He seems happy about it so we shouldn’t read more into this when he seems happy.
Security, girl now Kimora is right about that. They have some sick people out there. Also remember, alot, of people really love being close to celebrities and could try to snatch her children. Have you ever seen how crazy people act when they see some celebrities? It’s too crazy girl! Is all that trying to touch them and crying necessary? hahaha! Besides they have nannies and security when they are around her.

I always laugh when I see people saying “Russell made Kimora” hahaha! His old ass wanted to. Russell is about young women all day long, so, I wouldn’t exactly say Kimora did anything “old Rus” didnt want. We can’t blame Kimora for that shit. Hell more black women need to stop acting “moral” hahaha! and get and make the paper work for them. White girls do that shit all the time! Don’t blame Kiki, because Russell don’t like women his age, can’t you see the new chick, 25 years old? hahahaha!

Should I start naming names of young white girls doing tricks to the bank? hahaaha! Okay, well I’m just saying!

Go head Papa Russell make this new chick ” Kimora Jr” and I ain’t mad at her or you. Empower the Black Females! and help us sisters out! lol!

Alot of children support? Really? How much is Old Papa Russell worth? Hell nah, that’s not too much. Man please Russell aint worrying about shit like that; because those are his kids.

People are acting like Russell is some “FedEx worker” not talking down to Fedex workers, but home boy has bank okay.

18.

Mandela Took The L

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

So Mandela has no problem having Amy “I’m a racist” Winehouse perform at his birthday celebration, when she was caught on camera using racial slurs against Blacks and Asians.

WOW

How quickly Blacks forget the past

19.

Hmmm

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

why are people getting personal about kimora and russell, russell handled it very well. if they asked him to pay 1milion a month, i sure he would. now find your neighborhood dead beat and that’s a different story.

20.

Hmmm

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

Amy did not use racial slurs against blacks, she used racial slurs against pakis, gays and asians. when did the word black become a racial slur.

21.

So Paris’ mom is happy that her daughter waited three years later?? Instead of having the child when she was 16 like her mom? That really makes her mom proud. Its said to say that a pattern is forming. I don’t get it.

24.

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

I agree…Naomi out, but Winehouse in? I mean they are both equally psychotic. Both are banned from the US for now. I am pretty sure both are drug riddled. I mean Naomi came up during the time of THE (THEE) SUPERMODEL. This era was plagued by extensive drug abuse, so her brain cells are probably just as fried as Winehouse’s. It’s really an oxymoron to ban one, and allow the other.

As far as Kimora…again I agree with ya’ll. Russell made her…but Russell wanted to do that. At first I thought it was insane for Kimora to insist on The nanny and security present at all times, but like you guys said, she has all that going on when they are with her too, so I guess these requests aren’t to demean Russell or she feeling that he would harm them, it’s just for the kids own protection.

I mean and in response to white and black gold diggers…everyone basically is. Look at Will and Jada, Mike and Robyn, Keisha and Forrest, Denise and Charlie, Katie and Tom, Catherine Zeta and Mike, Nick and Mariah, k-Fed and Britney…the list goes on and on. Everyone is trying to get a meal ticket.

25.

Patience

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

2,6,10,18 I am with you. While Naomi’s behavior is at best immature and embarassing, you would think Mandela would also be concerned about having a singer participate in his event whose documented rascist rants have been hotly viewed on the internet for several days. And they go against the views he has sacrificed for and fought against his entire life.

Maybe it was more, no one will miss you Naomi, but Amy Whinehouse is going to draw more attention to my cause and draw more donations as well. You know, the greater good :) .

I’M SORRY BUT IF I FOUND OUT MY NIECE (I DON’T HAVE A YOUNGER SISTER) WAS PREGNANT AT 17, 18, OR EVEN 19…I WOULD LOOSE MY DAMN MIND! YOU MIGHT THINK I’M CRAZY FOR STATING 18/19, BUT I STILL SEE THAT AS YOUNG. THOSE ARE THE YEARS YOU SHOULD BE ESTABLISHING YOURSELF. IT’S SAD BECAUSE THESE GIRLS ARE GETTING YOUNGER AND THEIR PARENTS ARE NOT THAT OLD TO WHERE THEY’RE OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT GOES ON WITH TODAY’S YOUTH. YOU CAN’T REALLY THINK THAT NOTHING IS GOING ON BEHIND CLOSED DOORS IN “SALLY MAE’S” ROOM WHEN “MAN MAN” FROM DOWN THE STREET COMES OVER “TO PLAY”.
IN THE VOICE OF MY GRANDMOTHER…”NEGRO, IS YOU CRAZY!”

ALL THESE YOUNG GIRLS POPPING UP PREGNANT IN RECORD NUMBERS MAKES ME FEEL LIKE MY EGGS WILL DRY UP IN A YEAR OR TWO BECAUSE I HAVEN’T HAD ANY KIDS YET.

@ #30,& 37 I AGREE. my momma had raised me well,im just 19, and one thing she doesnt think is “ok” is getting preganant at a young age. She wouldnt be so “cool with it” like Paris’s momma & granny. GRANNY CRAZY! SHE HAPPY cuz she “waited”…..waiting to me =’s married, at least 25…. At least shes getting married, i guess…[[SMH]]
but its like young “famous” girls get praised for getting preganant, but when the girl next door gets preganant, its the end of the world. But Congratulations Paris, I wish you the best.

Regarding Naomi: Don’t like her either.

Hmm church folks always the worst folks *ducks at flying Bible aimed at head*

No, seriously, I don’t understand how people that are sooo Christian when it comes to everything, can condone pre-marital sex for a youngster. This is an epedemic in the black community and no one seems to think it is a problem. Why are black women not worthy enough of getting married before the baby? That whole thing with the father “wanting to stay out of the public” or whatever is probably just an excuse for him to keep all his other side chicks away from his business.

Very disappointed in Mandela. When can Naomi move on? She may have done wrong at first, but some of that afterwards is “The Omarosa syndrome” What happened with the officers? Did she just go off for nothing?

Russell targeted and pursured Kimora when she was barely an adult herself, not the other way around. And he should maintain their lifestyle because he said “til death do us part” “forsake all others” “through good and bad” during marriage vows. Its not the kids fault the grown ups lied and didn’t keep up their part.

46.

This is a suprise about Paris. Hope everything goes well for her.

As for Mandela, why would you allow a crack head and not Naomi???

47.

yes

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

Congrats to Paris! We don’t know her maturity level or her relationship with the baby’s father so if her mother is proud and supportive then everyone else should be too.

I don’t know what Naomi would have performed…Amy needs to be focused on her health, but hey if thats who Mandela wanted to see so be it. *shrugs*

As far as Ming and Aoki, at first I thought the security and nanny was a bit much, but then again those are things they are accustomed to in their lives, they are not there to supervise Russell with his children, he’s a busy man I’m sure he’ll need them around

as far as Kimora goes she doesnt owe him anything, if she had no business sense she wouldnt be where she is, yea he gave her an opportunity but that doesnt mean she has to kiss his ass the rest of her life, she probably would have started a clothing line on her own eventually, she was a model at one point shes not just some young chick Russell saved off the streets

48.

IMMA TALK ABOUT IT

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

Paris- Is too young, this will put a damper on her career. So instead of being concerned about her career, she is up here poppin up with babies at 19. Where’s the ring? Where is the damn guidance?

Russel- I disagree, I’m a BW. He shouldn’t have to continue to prop Kimora up all his life. I mean, is she brain dead? She can make her own. He should continue to take care of his kids, but even that should have a reasonable monetary limit. Smh (whatever that means)

LMFAO at #52 talking about dope boy. Maybe I was raised differently, but my mom always told me no baby is coming up in this house unless someone is married and has a steady check. Where I’m from, girls having babies is like drinking water. I’m 23 and a lot of girls I went to school w/have kids that are 10 in like the 4th or 5th grade. I swear I’m like one of the few females that went to my HS that still doesn’t have a baby. My mom told me havbing a baby and not having a husband is nothing to be proud about, so I never congratulated any of those girls, and I can’t do it now. People need to take their time. Get your life together before making life-altering decisions.

54.

PROVOST...

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

I don’t think it makes much sense to say that Amy Winehouse shouldn’t have been allowed to perform. Hell, she’s a talented artist. She has a problem - a COUPLE of problems - but how does that dishonor 46664’s cause if it doesn’t manifest itself in consistent violence or other legal trouble? She’s getting locked up less often than she used to, while Naomi’s stupid ass is still under the jail every time you look up.

Eeeeeeeverybody wants to harp on Amy getting “caught” using racial slurs. So what, honestly? I think the point IS that she was “caught.” She wasn’t onstage, in a magazine interview, or on a talk show. She was “caught.” Try to tell me, honestly, that none of you could be “caught” speaking ill of an ethnicity other than your own when you’re amongst your friends. Do me one better and convince me that you’re any less wrong than she is for doing so.

Bottom line: you can’t be cuttin up and showin yo ass in the damn 46664 hat! She Nae Nae wants to call Nelson her grandfather; fine, he acted like one! “Oh, you gone embarrass THIS family in public?! Winnie, scratch that ass out of the will NOW!” Barron got Paris together, and now it’s Nae Nae’s turn.

If the story is true, then I find it quite extraordinary that Mr Mandela can apparently have objections at Naomi’s presence, but none regarding Ms Winehouse . Ms Winehouse has seen the inside of police stations more times than all the readers of this site, have had hot dinners over her alleged drug use. I wonder if Mr Mandela was made aware of the racist song which she sang whilst allegedly coaxed by that dead beat jail bird husband(Blake Fidler Civil). Apparently her performance was caught on video for prosperity, or does this not offend his sensibilities? One can only imagine his sensibilities and selective vision were the cause for ignoring all that was happening in neighboring Zimbabwe. Naomi is no angel, but she has done nothing to compare with that of Robert Magarbe and yet Mr Mandela, despite his political influence and world stature, was only recently shamed into condemning him. So why don’t we all remember that before we rush to condemn her !

Don't Argue With Me It's Just An Opinion

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

I don’t think it’s racist at all that Naomi didn’t get to participate. Personally I believe that she got what she deserved. If more people ban Naomi from places, then perhaps she’ll behave. Amy Winehouse doesn’t go around slapping and spitting on people. This has nothing to do with race.

The arguments that have been made in defense of Kimora requiring all of this supervision with the children don’t make any sense to me. Of course we don’t know the full story behind their divorce, so I’m only speculating. But it’s my belief that if she felt a real threat behind the children being in his care that she wouldn’t bother letting him see them at all. I think that she is being unreasonable. But then, that’s how she portrays herself so it’s no surprise.

And please about ole girl’s baby daddy. He doesn’t want to be in the public eye my ass.

I wish Paris Bennett well, but her album did not go well with her vocal style or the good girl image that she had on American Idol. Her music producers tried to make her into a copy of Beyonce and a copy of a chick who is wise in the ways of the hood like Keyshia Cole. Her producers never did establish and pinpoint the true persona of Paris and allow her to develop her own identity, instead they created a cookie-cutter safe album, that safely imitated other artists but did not take any creative risks.

Rather than speculate on the Russell-Kimora agreement … just read his own words.
He posted on his one of his blogs….

Friends of mine have forwarded me gossip online about my custody agreement details with Kimora. The fact is, we’ve had a pretty good partnership at sharing the girls in the past. There have been a few bumps in the road, and those bumps have led us to negotiate a minimum amount of time I’m guaranteed to see my kids. That deal is as follows: I have the girls one full week out of every eight, half of the summer, half of all the holidays, a full week at Christmas, and half of Spring Break. Like in all good partnerships, contracts are meant to protect the partners but are usually not the only way the partners work together. If I show up in L.A., where she now lives, unannounced, I can call up Kimora and she will most likely send them right over. The same goes for when she comes to New York. We have always had a school in New York and a school with the same curriculum in L.A., so when the girls are with me in New York, we can spend quality time together. I can get up with them, take them to school and just be together.

Kimora consults with me about doctors or schools for the girls, but she’s always had final say in those areas. If we had an argument about a school, guess who’s going to win? But there are other stipulations in our agreement where we have to make final decisions together. Anything having to do with business decisions pertaining to my kids cannot be done without my consent.

I’ve also seen a lot about people reading into the supervised visits stipulation. Kimora travels with a security guard and a nanny. In the past, she’s gotten really nervous that I never travel with security, so if it makes her more comfortable to have her security and a nanny with us when I’m with my kids, that’s OK with me.

Finally, I want to say Kimora is a excellent mother and is doing a great job with them. My kids are studying a couple of foreign languages, they travel around the world, they practice yoga, ballet, swimming, karate and piano, among other things…sometimes I think they do too much, but I trust in Kimora on this because she IS a good mother.

Regarding the money, my kids live a tremendous life. They do have lots of security, nannies, educators, special programs, travel, chefs, on and on. Their mother manages all of those luxuries and I’m happy to provide for that.

With great love all things are possible.

Whatever Pakis and gays ar enot blacks and who cares…they dont care about blacks and latinos and most people on here always down Latinos Amy said that about Pakistanis and Indians and most (not all) hate blacks (sudras or untouchables in India) and Latinos and are outwardly racist. Look how they act in Bodegas…I go Dominicano first before those guys.

Mandela is old anyway he just wants to see someone sing and mostly invites pretty women…I guess he is really getting old thinking she is pretty..Plus Africans don’t do the assualt in public thing its a class issue. I like Noami better than annoyting Tyra.

Russel and Kimora are smart they have alot of money security is a must. He is worth almost a billion..also Kimora was a model who made millions…Russell wanted to MArry her and she is half black why all the hate?? You want better for your kids than what you have I can understand I wouldnt want my kids with the ghetto degenerates in the messed up public schools today…BOARDING SCHOOL (preferably Catholic like where I went is a must)

Unless you are a virgin please don’t comment on “how ur momma raise you”, “no kids b4 marriage”, “19 is to young”

If 19 is too young to have a baby than 19 is too young to have sex. Self righteous people are always the first to throw stones living in a damn glass house.

Paris is not the first or the last to get pregnant. Its been happening for decades. Get over it and close ur legs.

Hope the best for Paris & family.

Kimora & Russell are handling business. Its nobody’s business how they decided to raise and provide for their children. More parents should be able to come to a happy medium when raising children. Its about the kids not the parent’s ego.

Naomi Get it together.

also in my opinion Kimora and Russel are not using thier egos…just proper etiiqutte and class to raise their children. This is why they are so cute and well mannered. also Boarding school is a proper education Im sorry more people don’t get to go to understand the principle. Russell is doing the right thing and released an entire statement about it available on all hip hop .com.

I hope Obama changes the no child left behind process that is leaving alot of kids black and Latino left behind….this is why I am glad some kids are doing well like the Simmons kids. Bush’s policies are turning the school system into slums and I know kids form the ghetto black and Latino can do alot better (they are just as intelligent but don’t get opportunites to express it) and maybe do the things the Simmons do for their kids. Just because you are from somewhere doesnt mean you cant rise above those circumstances adn emulate the area you are trapped temporary in…unfortunately some people get trapped there forever..and the school systems “No child left behind” is trying to keep them there. They should have the same education as boarding schools…but if you have the money like the Simmons do I think you should provide for your children and money is no object. Simmons understands this sentiment. No child should not be able to get a great education and Obama wants to change that.

@71>>>Cool your jets. Having babies young is NOT CUTE. I don’t care if it’s happened for millions of years. Child abuse has happened and continues to, so does rape, so do we excuse those things as well? This mindset has wrecked havoc in the black community. It’s called being a “baby mama.” It’s also called “babies having babies.” This mindset also passes from one generation to another, thus mama was 16 when she got knocked up. A 19 year old hasn’t even lived yet and probably doesn’t even know who she is. People have a right to their opinion whether others like it or not. The end.
