ROUNDUP: PARIS BENNETT PREGNANT / RUSSELL’S CHILD SUPPORT / MANDELA GIVE NAOMI THE BOOT

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Former American Idol contestant and 19 year old Paris Bennett is expecting a girl in October:

Jamecia, who like her daughter and mother is a singer, is absolutely over the moon about being a first-time grandmother.

“I’m proud of how she did it. I was 16 when I got pregnant,” said Jamecia.

Paris’ great-grandmother is Shirley T. Bennett, 75, of Rockford, Ill.; her grandmother Ann Nesby, a gospel and R&B powerhouse, who lives in Atlanta, was with the Sounds of Blackness.

Who’s the daddy? “He chooses not to be in the public eye,” said Jamecia. “I respect that.” What does he do for a living? “I can’t tell,” she said.

“She has a ring,” said Jamecia, who’s hopeful that she’ll be planning a wedding for Paris.

The planning for an August baby shower is already underway. A few celebrities may fly into town for the show, including Queen Latifah. READ MORE

Congrats to Paris…

RUSSELL SIMMONS & CHILD SUPPORT

Former married couple Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee were all the buzz this week after TMZ.com released documentation that orders Simmons to pay $480,000 of child support to his daughters Ming & Aoki Lee:

The agreement, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, shows that until 2019, Russell Simmons will continue payments for Ming Lee, now 8, and, until 2022, for Aoki, now 5.

Kimora Lee, 33, filed for divorce in March after nine years of marriage. She’s asking for primary custody of the girls and that Russell, 50, be granted “reasonable child visitation … accompanied at all times by the children’s nanny and security personnel.” READ MORE

Russell recently answered questions about the child support ruling and intentions of his former wife saying:

“My kids live a tremendous life,” he said. “They do have lots of security, nannies, educators, special programs, travel, chefs, on and on. Their mother manages all of those luxuries and I’m happy to provide for that…I want to say Kimora is a excellent mother and is doing a great job with them”

MANDELA BOOTED NAOMI FROM CONCERT…AMY WHINEHOUSE WAS IN

55202207dasurs626200812835pm.jpgPhoto: Wireimage

Looks like Naomi Campbell’s appearance to Nelson Mandela’s birthday dinner this week didn’t impress him over her outside actions. After learning about Naomi’s current legal situation, Mandela axed her from attending his birthday concert that took place yesterday:

Mandela was upset because Campbell was arrested for assaulting two police officers while wearing a baseball cap with the 46664 logo, the Mail reported.

Mandela felt the arrest was at odds with his charity’s goals, the paper said. He and the supermodel had been friendly, and she has referred to Mandela as her “honorary grandfather.”

Things cooled when Campbell, 38, was sentenced last week to 200 hours of community service for assaulting the officers in April during a kicking, screaming and cursing fit at Heathrow Airport. READ MORE

Though Campbell got the boot, Mandela was happy to see Amy Whinehouse headline the concert. The troubled singer who has undergone numerous medical tests after fainting at her home in London earlier this month, appeared fine while performing on stage in front of 50,000 fans.

It’s completely hypocritical to allow Amy Winehouse to participate, but not Naomi. Don’t get me wrong, Naomi has made her own bed, but so has Amy. I’m disappointed in Mandela if this is true.

Amy was sick messy at the concert. She performed really well as did Leona Lewis, Queen, Annie Lennox and the Agape choir and Eddie Grant. Not surprised bout Naomi.

19 to have a baby, very rare that teenage romances survive, the stats prove it but wishes to’ em

Aren’t the simmons kids cuute. Thats a hell of a lot of child support

12.

Hmmm

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

What a shame, Paris is now another statistic, an unwed mother and a dead beat soon to be baby father. Her career never launched. Good luck with your life.

I don’t think the deal with Kimora and Russell is a bad thing. It’s just wordings for the legal papers. Like he said “if he is in town, he calls and they can go right over” and we can only go by what comes out of Russell’s mouth. He seems happy about it so we shouldn’t read more into this when he seems happy.
Security, girl now Kimora is right about that. They have some sick people out there. Also remember, alot, of people really love being close to celebrities and could try to snatch her children. Have you ever seen how crazy people act when they see some celebrities? It’s too crazy girl! Is all that trying to touch them and crying necessary? hahaha! Besides they have nannies and security when they are around her.

I always laugh when I see people saying “Russell made Kimora” hahaha! His old ass wanted to. Russell is about young women all day long, so, I wouldn’t exactly say Kimora did anything “old Rus” didnt want. We can’t blame Kimora for that shit. Hell more black women need to stop acting “moral” hahaha! and get and make the paper work for them. White girls do that shit all the time! Don’t blame Kiki, because Russell don’t like women his age, can’t you see the new chick, 25 years old? hahahaha!

Should I start naming names of young white girls doing tricks to the bank? hahaaha! Okay, well I’m just saying!

Go head Papa Russell make this new chick ” Kimora Jr” and I ain’t mad at her or you. Empower the Black Females! and help us sisters out! lol!

Mandela Took The L

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

So Mandela has no problem having Amy “I’m a racist” Winehouse perform at his birthday celebration, when she was caught on camera using racial slurs against Blacks and Asians.

WOW

How quickly Blacks forget the past

19.

Hmmm

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

why are people getting personal about kimora and russell, russell handled it very well. if they asked him to pay 1milion a month, i sure he would. now find your neighborhood dead beat and that’s a different story.

20.

Hmmm

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

Amy did not use racial slurs against blacks, she used racial slurs against pakis, gays and asians. when did the word black become a racial slur.

I agree…Naomi out, but Winehouse in? I mean they are both equally psychotic. Both are banned from the US for now. I am pretty sure both are drug riddled. I mean Naomi came up during the time of THE (THEE) SUPERMODEL. This era was plagued by extensive drug abuse, so her brain cells are probably just as fried as Winehouse’s. It’s really an oxymoron to ban one, and allow the other.

As far as Kimora…again I agree with ya’ll. Russell made her…but Russell wanted to do that. At first I thought it was insane for Kimora to insist on The nanny and security present at all times, but like you guys said, she has all that going on when they are with her too, so I guess these requests aren’t to demean Russell or she feeling that he would harm them, it’s just for the kids own protection.

I mean and in response to white and black gold diggers…everyone basically is. Look at Will and Jada, Mike and Robyn, Keisha and Forrest, Denise and Charlie, Katie and Tom, Catherine Zeta and Mike, Nick and Mariah, k-Fed and Britney…the list goes on and on. Everyone is trying to get a meal ticket.

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

2,6,10,18 I am with you. While Naomi’s behavior is at best immature and embarassing, you would think Mandela would also be concerned about having a singer participate in his event whose documented rascist rants have been hotly viewed on the internet for several days. And they go against the views he has sacrificed for and fought against his entire life.

Maybe it was more, no one will miss you Naomi, but Amy Whinehouse is going to draw more attention to my cause and draw more donations as well. You know, the greater good :) .

I’M SORRY BUT IF I FOUND OUT MY NIECE (I DON’T HAVE A YOUNGER SISTER) WAS PREGNANT AT 17, 18, OR EVEN 19…I WOULD LOOSE MY DAMN MIND! YOU MIGHT THINK I’M CRAZY FOR STATING 18/19, BUT I STILL SEE THAT AS YOUNG. THOSE ARE THE YEARS YOU SHOULD BE ESTABLISHING YOURSELF. IT’S SAD BECAUSE THESE GIRLS ARE GETTING YOUNGER AND THEIR PARENTS ARE NOT THAT OLD TO WHERE THEY’RE OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT GOES ON WITH TODAY’S YOUTH. YOU CAN’T REALLY THINK THAT NOTHING IS GOING ON BEHIND CLOSED DOORS IN “SALLY MAE’S” ROOM WHEN “MAN MAN” FROM DOWN THE STREET COMES OVER “TO PLAY”.
IN THE VOICE OF MY GRANDMOTHER…”NEGRO, IS YOU CRAZY!”

ALL THESE YOUNG GIRLS POPPING UP PREGNANT IN RECORD NUMBERS MAKES ME FEEL LIKE MY EGGS WILL DRY UP IN A YEAR OR TWO BECAUSE I HAVEN’T HAD ANY KIDS YET.

@ #30,& 37 I AGREE. my momma had raised me well,im just 19, and one thing she doesnt think is “ok” is getting preganant at a young age. She wouldnt be so “cool with it” like Paris’s momma & granny. GRANNY CRAZY! SHE HAPPY cuz she “waited”…..waiting to me =’s married, at least 25…. At least shes getting married, i guess…[[SMH]]
but its like young “famous” girls get praised for getting preganant, but when the girl next door gets preganant, its the end of the world. But Congratulations Paris, I wish you the best.

Hmm church folks always the worst folks *ducks at flying Bible aimed at head*

No, seriously, I don’t understand how people that are sooo Christian when it comes to everything, can condone pre-marital sex for a youngster. This is an epedemic in the black community and no one seems to think it is a problem. Why are black women not worthy enough of getting married before the baby? That whole thing with the father “wanting to stay out of the public” or whatever is probably just an excuse for him to keep all his other side chicks away from his business.

Very disappointed in Mandela. When can Naomi move on? She may have done wrong at first, but some of that afterwards is “The Omarosa syndrome” What happened with the officers? Did she just go off for nothing?

Russell targeted and pursured Kimora when she was barely an adult herself, not the other way around. And he should maintain their lifestyle because he said “til death do us part” “forsake all others” “through good and bad” during marriage vows. Its not the kids fault the grown ups lied and didn’t keep up their part.

46.

This is a suprise about Paris. Hope everything goes well for her.

As for Mandela, why would you allow a crack head and not Naomi???

47.

yes

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

Congrats to Paris! We don’t know her maturity level or her relationship with the baby’s father so if her mother is proud and supportive then everyone else should be too.

I don’t know what Naomi would have performed…Amy needs to be focused on her health, but hey if thats who Mandela wanted to see so be it. *shrugs*

As far as Ming and Aoki, at first I thought the security and nanny was a bit much, but then again those are things they are accustomed to in their lives, they are not there to supervise Russell with his children, he’s a busy man I’m sure he’ll need them around

as far as Kimora goes she doesnt owe him anything, if she had no business sense she wouldnt be where she is, yea he gave her an opportunity but that doesnt mean she has to kiss his ass the rest of her life, she probably would have started a clothing line on her own eventually, she was a model at one point shes not just some young chick Russell saved off the streets

48.

IMMA TALK ABOUT IT

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

Paris- Is too young, this will put a damper on her career. So instead of being concerned about her career, she is up here poppin up with babies at 19. Where’s the ring? Where is the damn guidance?

Russel- I disagree, I’m a BW. He shouldn’t have to continue to prop Kimora up all his life. I mean, is she brain dead? She can make her own. He should continue to take care of his kids, but even that should have a reasonable monetary limit. Smh (whatever that means)

LMFAO at #52 talking about dope boy. Maybe I was raised differently, but my mom always told me no baby is coming up in this house unless someone is married and has a steady check. Where I’m from, girls having babies is like drinking water. I’m 23 and a lot of girls I went to school w/have kids that are 10 in like the 4th or 5th grade. I swear I’m like one of the few females that went to my HS that still doesn’t have a baby. My mom told me havbing a baby and not having a husband is nothing to be proud about, so I never congratulated any of those girls, and I can’t do it now. People need to take their time. Get your life together before making life-altering decisions.

54.

PROVOST...

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

I don’t think it makes much sense to say that Amy Winehouse shouldn’t have been allowed to perform. Hell, she’s a talented artist. She has a problem - a COUPLE of problems - but how does that dishonor 46664’s cause if it doesn’t manifest itself in consistent violence or other legal trouble? She’s getting locked up less often than she used to, while Naomi’s stupid ass is still under the jail every time you look up.

Eeeeeeeverybody wants to harp on Amy getting “caught” using racial slurs. So what, honestly? I think the point IS that she was “caught.” She wasn’t onstage, in a magazine interview, or on a talk show. She was “caught.” Try to tell me, honestly, that none of you could be “caught” speaking ill of an ethnicity other than your own when you’re amongst your friends. Do me one better and convince me that you’re any less wrong than she is for doing so.

Bottom line: you can’t be cuttin up and showin yo ass in the damn 46664 hat! She Nae Nae wants to call Nelson her grandfather; fine, he acted like one! “Oh, you gone embarrass THIS family in public?! Winnie, scratch that ass out of the will NOW!” Barron got Paris together, and now it’s Nae Nae’s turn.

If the story is true, then I find it quite extraordinary that Mr Mandela can apparently have objections at Naomi’s presence, but none regarding Ms Winehouse . Ms Winehouse has seen the inside of police stations more times than all the readers of this site, have had hot dinners over her alleged drug use. I wonder if Mr Mandela was made aware of the racist song which she sang whilst allegedly coaxed by that dead beat jail bird husband(Blake Fidler Civil). Apparently her performance was caught on video for prosperity, or does this not offend his sensibilities? One can only imagine his sensibilities and selective vision were the cause for ignoring all that was happening in neighboring Zimbabwe. Naomi is no angel, but she has done nothing to compare with that of Robert Magarbe and yet Mr Mandela, despite his political influence and world stature, was only recently shamed into condemning him. So why don’t we all remember that before we rush to condemn her !

Don't Argue With Me It's Just An Opinion

Saturday, June 28, 2008 /

I don’t think it’s racist at all that Naomi didn’t get to participate. Personally I believe that she got what she deserved. If more people ban Naomi from places, then perhaps she’ll behave. Amy Winehouse doesn’t go around slapping and spitting on people. This has nothing to do with race.

The arguments that have been made in defense of Kimora requiring all of this supervision with the children don’t make any sense to me. Of course we don’t know the full story behind their divorce, so I’m only speculating. But it’s my belief that if she felt a real threat behind the children being in his care that she wouldn’t bother letting him see them at all. I think that she is being unreasonable. But then, that’s how she portrays herself so it’s no surprise.

And please about ole girl’s baby daddy. He doesn’t want to be in the public eye my ass.

I wish Paris Bennett well, but her album did not go well with her vocal style or the good girl image that she had on American Idol. Her music producers tried to make her into a copy of Beyonce and a copy of a chick who is wise in the ways of the hood like Keyshia Cole. Her producers never did establish and pinpoint the true persona of Paris and allow her to develop her own identity, instead they created a cookie-cutter safe album, that safely imitated other artists but did not take any creative risks.

Rather than speculate on the Russell-Kimora agreement … just read his own words.
He posted on his one of his blogs….

Friends of mine have forwarded me gossip online about my custody agreement details with Kimora. The fact is, we’ve had a pretty good partnership at sharing the girls in the past. There have been a few bumps in the road, and those bumps have led us to negotiate a minimum amount of time I’m guaranteed to see my kids. That deal is as follows: I have the girls one full week out of every eight, half of the summer, half of all the holidays, a full week at Christmas, and half of Spring Break. Like in all good partnerships, contracts are meant to protect the partners but are usually not the only way the partners work together. If I show up in L.A., where she now lives, unannounced, I can call up Kimora and she will most likely send them right over. The same goes for when she comes to New York. We have always had a school in New York and a school with the same curriculum in L.A., so when the girls are with me in New York, we can spend quality time together. I can get up with them, take them to school and just be together.

Kimora consults with me about doctors or schools for the girls, but she’s always had final say in those areas. If we had an argument about a school, guess who’s going to win? But there are other stipulations in our agreement where we have to make final decisions together. Anything having to do with business decisions pertaining to my kids cannot be done without my consent.

I’ve also seen a lot about people reading into the supervised visits stipulation. Kimora travels with a security guard and a nanny. In the past, she’s gotten really nervous that I never travel with security, so if it makes her more comfortable to have her security and a nanny with us when I’m with my kids, that’s OK with me.

Finally, I want to say Kimora is a excellent mother and is doing a great job with them. My kids are studying a couple of foreign languages, they travel around the world, they practice yoga, ballet, swimming, karate and piano, among other things…sometimes I think they do too much, but I trust in Kimora on this because she IS a good mother.

Regarding the money, my kids live a tremendous life. They do have lots of security, nannies, educators, special programs, travel, chefs, on and on. Their mother manages all of those luxuries and I’m happy to provide for that.

With great love all things are possible.

Whatever Pakis and gays ar enot blacks and who cares…they dont care about blacks and latinos and most people on here always down Latinos Amy said that about Pakistanis and Indians and most (not all) hate blacks (sudras or untouchables in India) and Latinos and are outwardly racist. Look how they act in Bodegas…I go Dominicano first before those guys.

Mandela is old anyway he just wants to see someone sing and mostly invites pretty women…I guess he is really getting old thinking she is pretty..Plus Africans don’t do the assualt in public thing its a class issue. I like Noami better than annoyting Tyra.

Russel and Kimora are smart they have alot of money security is a must. He is worth almost a billion..also Kimora was a model who made millions…Russell wanted to MArry her and she is half black why all the hate?? You want better for your kids than what you have I can understand I wouldnt want my kids with the ghetto degenerates in the messed up public schools today…BOARDING SCHOOL (preferably Catholic like where I went is a must)

Unless you are a virgin please don’t comment on “how ur momma raise you”, “no kids b4 marriage”, “19 is to young”

If 19 is too young to have a baby than 19 is too young to have sex. Self righteous people are always the first to throw stones living in a damn glass house.

Paris is not the first or the last to get pregnant. Its been happening for decades. Get over it and close ur legs.

Hope the best for Paris & family.

Kimora & Russell are handling business. Its nobody’s business how they decided to raise and provide for their children. More parents should be able to come to a happy medium when raising children. Its about the kids not the parent’s ego.

also in my opinion Kimora and Russel are not using thier egos…just proper etiiqutte and class to raise their children. This is why they are so cute and well mannered. also Boarding school is a proper education Im sorry more people don’t get to go to understand the principle. I hope Obama changes the no child left behind process that is leaving alot of kids black and Latino left behind….this is why I am glad some kids are doing well like the Simmons kids. Bush’s policies are turning the school system into slums and I know kids form the ghetto black and Latino can do alot better (they are just as intelligent but don’t get opportunites to express it) and maybe do the things the Simmons do for their kids. Just because you are from somewhere doesnt mean you cant rise above those circumstances adn emulate the area you are trapped temporary in…unfortunately some people get trapped there forever..and the school systems “No child left behind” is trying to keep them there. They should have the same education as boarding schools…but if you have the money like the Simmons do I think you should provide for your children and money is no object. Simmons understands this sentiment. No child should not be able to get a great education and Obama wants to change that.

@71>>>Cool your jets. Having babies young is NOT CUTE. I don’t care if it’s happened for millions of years. Child abuse has happened and continues to, so does rape, so do we excuse those things as well? This mindset has wrecked havoc in the black community. It’s called being a “baby mama.” It’s also called “babies having babies.” This mindset also passes from one generation to another, thus mama was 16 when she got knocked up. A 19 year old hasn’t even lived yet and probably doesn’t even know who she is. People have a right to their opinion whether others like it or not. The end.

Sassy said it better than I did. kids will have to go through the “No child left behind” if they have children young with no money that is the point. The Simmons have the money because they had them the right way…So my posts are all on point…and Sassy got the point.

Men should take care of their children and women should stop having them so young this has wrecked havoc in black and Latino communities.

@75 Sassy, You are right everyone has their opinion….like I voiced mine. Now I do not condone teen pregnancy at all. However, I”m not a VIRGIN therefore I run the risk/blessing of being a parent.

I’m not excusing anyone’s behavior….SEX leads to PREGNANCY. So people need to get off their HIGH HORSE. If you are too young at 19 to be a parent you are to young to have sex. Where in my post do I say teen pregnancy is okay. What I said was people who are having or has had sex at 19 should not be condemning this young lady.

That’s like a friend of mine use to talk down about single mothers….and she had 3 abortions. Seriously….sweep around your own front door!

You reference child abuse, rape, and etc as if that makes your comment valid. Those are apples and oranges.

Good-day,

I congratulate this ‘Paris’ for choosing to keep her un-born child instead of aborting it, which would have been the easy way out. I do not, however, condone nor will I congratulate this adolescent for having pre-martial sex and becoming pregnant. I will not congratulate her child’s father, most likely he is at the most 18-19 years of age as well - without stable income.

Her family supports her and that’s all that matters. When are we going to learn as a people that we deserve more, that we can accomplish so much with our lives - through hard work, struggle and dedication. I won’t say this is the end of her life, albeit, it will be hard times ahead for this young lady. She can still go on to accomplish her goals. I advise the first among them be to get a High school Diploma if she hasn’t (GED) and take college level course toward a more stable future for her and this child.

Peace.

#18 I knew people would say this and I took his dissing Naomi as a fatherly admonition…something you do when someone disappoints you. Amy, on the other hand, is someone who he’s simply chosen to forgive…someone he didn’t care enough about to dismiss, in my opinion. Naomi has been close with him for years and she really really makes these sorts of demonstrative leaps when she’s doing stuff with his charity, saying she’s turned her life around and she’s changed…I don’t doubt her devotion to the cause or her sincerity, but I think she benefits from her involvement as well…so it really isn’t a big deal that he would have banned her for tarnishing its image a bit.

We need to take care of our oun so we do lose all that we have gain. This makes me mad. And yall just hi fiving her tail.

Second I am sick and tired of Women asking for child support if they dont need it. It’s time out for the kiddy shit once you are old enough. And to have a court dictate how that man spends time with his own kids. Sad and Childish. Why involve the system when you dont have to. I mean please really.

Paris’ mother sounds like a donkey! Who in their right mind would be happy to be a grandparent at age 35?!?!

To those of you saying there’s nothing wrong w/ it because Paris is over 18…there’s a little something called emotional development and maturity. 18 is set as the “legal age” for governmental reasons, but it does not mean you are truely an adult once you hit that birthday. Adults have to learn who they are by being a little selfish first and getting to know who they are and what they stand for….otherwise you have nothing to offer a child (b/c you’re too busy worrying about what’s good for you).

Paris is now just another statistic and she’s setting a bad example for all 3 of her fans who are probably teenagers as well and are probably going to get pregnant before they learn what an IRA is.

I love how most of you are writing about not having a baby at a young age but only 1 or 2 are writing anything about not having sex. THANK YOU @ Black_Therapist!!!! I guess its ok to judge this girl while you are unmarried and screwing your damn self but you dont have the big belly to show everybody as proof. Yes, she is young but its kind of funny that I met a 41 year old not 2 days ago ready to kill herself over her 6 month old she thought she was finally “ready” for. All this, “at 19 you dont know this or that” is just your opinion. You need to say at 19 YOU didnt know this or that because you cant speak for every 19 year old out there. I know a few 30 year olds that arent ready for a pet much more a child. Since when 19 going on 20 is considered babies having babies? wow

Paris and child will be OK. I’m glad she has a supportive family because some of you sound ready to stone her in the streets. I guess it would have been better if her mother talked about her like a dog in public, or she was a walking graveyard like so many women using abortion as a form of birth control.

Who is anyone to judge Paris and her pregnancy, she is just a product of the adults that she sees in her environment and her surroundings. If you are born into today`s world ,it is like being born and raised in a porno shop, because everybody is obsessed with sex, sexual thoughts dominate our culture and minds. It is not the fault of young people look at the behavoir of adults in our society that influences the way that kids think and behave. From music and Lil Wayne`s sexually explicit song lollipop to stars and celebrities like Oprah who shacks up with Steadman and they`re not married to Haile Berry having a baby out of wedlock to religion and Jesse Jackson fathering a child out of wedlock to politics and former President Bill Clinton having sex in the White House. Paris is just a product of her environment and the environment in todays world is hedonistic the behavior of adults and the stars at Mandela`s celebration sends the wrong message to young kids because it tells them that sexual pleasure, money and material things, and having good looks, are the greatest things in the world and not God.

They make it seem like it’s ok to have a baby at that age.But at least the father of the baby is there, and the fact he loves her and they are going to get married.Lately,it seems like anyone in their teens is getting pregnant, and making it seem like it’s ok when it’s not. What happened to teaching your children about having intimate moments when they’re married,or teaching then about intercourse and what that could lead to?(STD’s or teenage pregnancy obviously)I really don’t think it’s cool But I wish her well.

113.

jus my opinion

Sunday, June 29, 2008 /

@ peggy

whether or not she can care for the child is not the point. at 19 you have not really lived yet and your mind still hasnt fully matured. she is a teen having unprotected sex with a man who is not her husband. does she have a thriving career? no….does she have a college degree? no

im not condemning her but i still think what she did is wrong and her mother clearly wasnt leading her in the right direction, since she claims she is proud of her daughter getting knocked up at 19 instead of 16.

you may be 20 with a child and living well, and i applaude you for doing it all alone, but children should be raised by both mother and father in a stable household.

yeah now she has a ring, but if she wasnt pregnant would she really be engaged? probably not…..marriage is supposed to be a lifelong commitment by two people, it shouldnt be used to cover up accidental pregnancies (solange, brandy, usher).

In reference to Mandela-its ‘his’ party so I guess his decision was valid. Amy Winehouse is a recording artist so I guess she had more to offer as far as ‘entertainment purposes’ than Naomi did anyway.

Kimora & Russ-I’m not surprised at the amount of the child support order. This is something that was probably already established between the 2 of them during their seperation, its just on paper officially now. They are business savy people & I’m sure they conducted this divorce in a mature manner. They both have moved on & its best that they finally put the marriage to rest. I watch her show on the Style channel & she does have a lot of security & extra cirricular activities for her girls. 1 thing I give Kimora is that she LOVES those girls & take care of them well. Over $400,000 in child support is nothing to him….for some of us that’s a couple of yrs salary lol. I think russel not speaking against her in the press is very mature of him whether he’s getting along w/her or not.

Paris-sad situation. She is young but can overcome the statistic if she raises her child right. Break the cycle girl!

Russell and Kimora were both adults when they married regardless of age. I know numerous young women who are dating older men and become highly upset if you challenge their age, committment, know how or if they are after money. They will fight to the death that it is love.

The children deserve the lifestyle that they are a custom to more than Kimora or Russell. Having a legal background, I am sure that there is more to that story which is not our business. But, Kimoras demands are to much, and MAD sisters who have been hurt want all men to hurt.

First let me start by saying that by placing the article concerning the pregnancy of the “19″ year old Pairs Bennett, the former American Idol Contestant, we are praising teen or irresponsible pregnancy! She is 19, an age at which in these days, with all the opportunities to advance that are available, you shouldn’t be worried about having a baby. To me this is just as bad as the 17 girls in Mass. that made a pact to get pregnant and of course Jamie Spears 16 year old ass having a baby. Babies are not an accessory! They are human lives that do not ask to be brought here and if they are you should be mentally, spiritually and financially ready to take care of them. This especially not good for young African-American girls to see, that are starved for affection, nurturing and love, because then this will give them validation to have a baby they are not ready for.

I think that Russell is a loving father when it comes to his little girls and he probably would rather the girls continue with the lavish and priviledged life that he and Kimora has built for them then to go through a long drawn out battle that would rip the carpet from under their feet….Kudos Russell!

As far as Kimora…could be true that she was in it for the money, but it was actually Russell who pursued her…hard! She was extremely young and off rip he began spoiling her with lavish gifts and spoiling her. Which is why if you notice.. she (still) acts ” spoiled” and sometimes throw more temper tantrums than the girls when she doesnt get her way…LOL, Dijimon aint having it!

As for Naomi I am not defending her, she has an effed up, bullying type of attitude…ol’ bipolar heffa, Id like to see her hire a sista and then throw a phone at her or hit her….I bet ya every last track will be snatched out of her head!! Im sick of her in the news all the time for nonsense just like I was sick of Foxy Brown…ugh

What the hell… her mom says she’s “proud of how she did it”?
Why, cuz she’s over 18? That makes it even worse! Because there is no reason for any good and grown ass woman, with all of the conveniences of contraception, to have an accidental or unexpected pregnancy. And 19 is hardly old enough, although legally she’s an adult, is she mentally and emotionally mature enough for something like this? I see this happening all the time with you Black girls…

I am 23 and all of my friends are on baby 2 and 3. None of the fathers take care of them and they all barely have a high school education. It seems to me people are having babies just because, I know someone who decided she wanted to be pregnant because all her friends have kids or are pregnantm, and they want them to grow up together. She is 22 but acts like she is still 16 she is the last person to be trying to have a baby she was homeless and un-employed before she got pregnant and is still in that situation now.

I wish Paris the best but this is nothing to be proud of.

Nothing new, it happens everyday..It’s a “big deal” b/c she is in the lime-light.. I wish her the best of luck, and I’ll see where the career goes from here.

Sorry but I think marriage at such a young age is stupid…. with child or without. You haven’t lived yet so sticking yourself in such a situation is… well… childish. I’d rather wish the child luck because she’s gonna need it. If things don’t work out, she’s going to suffer the most. Let this be a lesson to all you dumb or ignorant chicks. YOUR BODY… YOUR RESPONSIBILITY! Its called PLAN B (the pill that is NOW over the counter… I think lol but if the law changed, you can get it at a health clinic) and WRAP IT UP! Having a child at a young age is NOT cool nor cute and CAN be prevented w/ the proper education.

Well havin a baby is a blessing, no matter how young or old you are….for the younger folks (maybe a blessing in disguise) but if you old enough to open your legs you old enough to accept the consequences….but i guess in this case its not a consequence cuz the family seems happy about it. What i dont get is when her mom says “im proud of how she did it” DID WHAT…ok, i didnt go thru and read all the comments and im sure somebody has prolly said the same thing but WTH….what did she do….she aint married…what, because she got a ring its the right thing to do. so all we need to do is at least be with somebody to have a baby….i guess…..but congrats to paris anyways….if she like it i love it

About Kimora and Russell…I don’t see anything wrong with it. That kind of money is not much to him, don’t forget how much he’s worth. If he’s never with security while he’s out then hell yes you are getting security and a nanny to help you out while you’re out with my kids (If I was a celebrity of course lol). If you’ve watched her show, she’s very overprotective of those two girls so it doesn’t surprise me. A judge wouldn’t agree to that unless it was reasonable for the two of them.
